YAHUSHA   𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤔𐤏

JOSHUA

CHAPTER 1

1 Now it came to be after the death of Mashah, servant of 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 (YAHUAH), that 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 (YAHUAH) spoke to Yahusha son of Nun (Noon), Mashah’s attendant, to say,

2 "Mashah My servant is dead: Now therefore arise, go over this Yardan, you, and all this people, to the land which I give to them, even to the children of Yashar'AL.

3 Every place that the sole of your foot will tread on I have given you, as I told Mashah.

4 From the wilderness, and this Laba'nun, even to the great river, the river Parath, all the land of the Khath'ym, and to the great sea toward the going down of the sun, shall be your border.

5 No man will be able to stand before you all the days of your khaYah (life). As I was with Mashah, so I will be with you. I will not fail you nor forsake you.

6 "Be strong and courageous, for you shall cause this people to inherit the land which I swore to their fathers to give them.

7 Only be strong and very courageous, to observe to do according to all the Thurah, which Mashah my servant commanded you. Don't turn from it to the right hand or to the left, that you may have good success wherever you go.

8 This Book of the Thurah shall not depart out of your mouth, but you shall meditate on it day and night, that you may observe to do according to all that is written therein: for then you shall make your way prosperous, and then you shall have good success.

9 Have not I commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid, neither be dismayed: For 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 (YAHUAH) Your ALUAH is with you wherever you go."

10 Then Yahusha commanded the officers of the people saying,

11 "Pass through the midst of the camp, and command the people saying, 'Prepare food, for within three days you are to pass over this Yardan, to go in to possess the land, which 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 (YAHUAH) Your ALUAH gives you to possess it.'"

12 And Yahusha spoke to the Rauban'ya, and to the Gad'ya, and to the half-tribe of the Mana'shah saying,

13 "Remember the word which Mashah the servant of 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 (YAHUAH) commanded you, saying, '𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 (YAHUAH) Your ALUAH gives you rest, and will give you this land.

14 Your wives, your little ones, and your livestock, shall abide in the land which Mashah gave you beyond the Yardan, but you shall pass over before your brothers armed, all the mighty men of valor, and shall help them,

15 until 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 (YAHUAH) has given your brothers rest, as He has given you, and they have also possessed the land which 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 (YAHUAH) Your ALUAH gives them. Then you shall return to the land of your possession, and possess it, which Mashah the servant of 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 (YAHUAH) gave you beyond the Yardan toward the sunrise.'"

16 And they answered Yahusha, saying, "All that you have commanded us we will do, and wherever you send us we will go.

17 Just as we listened to Mashah in all, so will we listen to you. Only may 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 (YAHUAH) Your ALUAH be with you, as He was with Mashah.

18 Whoever rebels against your commandment, and does not listen to your words in all that you command him, he shall be put to death. Only be strong and courageous.”

CHAPTER 2

1 And Yahusha son of Nun secretly sent two men out of Shata’ym as spies, saying, "Go, view the land, including Yara'yakhu (Yara’ya’khoo).” They went and came into the house of a whore whose name was Rakhab, and slept there.

2 But the king of Yara'yakhu was told, "Behold, men of the children of Yashar'AL came in here tonight to spy out the land."

3 And the king of Yara'yakhu sent to Rakhab, saying, "Bring out the men who have come to you, who have entered into your house, for they have come to spy out all the land."

4 And the woman took the two men and hid them. Then she said, "Yes, the men came to me, but I didn't know where they were from.

5 And it came to be about the time of the shutting of the gate, when it was dark, that the men went out. Where the men went, I don't know. Pursue them quickly, for you will overtake them."

6 But she had brought them up to the roof, and hid them with the stalks of flax, which she had laid in order on the roof.

7 And the men pursued them the way to the Yardan to the fords: and as soon as those who pursued them had gone out, they shut the gate.

8 And before they lay down, she came up to them on the roof,

9 and she said to the men, "I know that 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 (YAHUAH) has given you the land, and that the fear of you has fallen on us, and that all the inhabitants of the land melt away before you.

10 For we have heard how 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 (YAHUAH) dried up the water of the sea of reeds before you, when you came out of Ma’tsara’ym, and what you did to the two kings of the Amar'ya, who were beyond the Yardan, to Sayakhan and to A'uga (A’oo’ga), whom you utterly destroyed.

11 And as soon as we had heard it, our hearts melted, neither did there remain any more rukh in any man, because of you: for 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 (YAHUAH) Your ALUAH, HE IS ALUAH in shama'ym above, and on earth beneath.

12 Now therefore, please swear to me by 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 (YAHUAH), since I have dealt kindly with you, that you also will deal kindly with my father's house, and give me a true token,

13 and that you will spare my father, my mother, my brothers, and my sisters, and all that they have, and will rescue our beings from death."

14 And the men said to her, "Our beings for yours, if you do not talk about this business of ours, and it shall be, when 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 (YAHUAH) gives us the land, that we will deal kindly and truly with you."

15 Then she let them down by a cord through the window, for her house was on the side of the wall, and she dwelled on the wall.

16 And she said to them, "Go to the mountain, lest the pursuers find you, and hide yourselves there three days, until the pursuers have returned. Afterward, you may go your way."

17 And the men said to her, "We are released of this your oath which you have made us to swear.

18 Behold, when we come into the land, you shall bind this line of scarlet thread in the window which you did let us down by. You shall gather to yourself into the house your father, your mother, your brothers, and all your father's household.

19 And it shall be that whoever goes out of the doors of your house into the street, his blood will be on his head, and we will be innocent. Whoever is with you in the house, his blood shall be on our head, if any hand is on him.

20 But if you talk about this business of ours, then we shall be released of your oath which you have made us to swear."

21 And she said, "According to your words, so be it." She sent them away, and they departed. And she tied the scarlet line in the window.

22 And they went, and came to the mountain, and stayed there three days, until the pursuers had returned. And the pursuers sought them throughout all the way, but did not find them.

23 Then the two men returned, descended from the mountain, passed over, and came to Yahusha son of Nun, and they told him all that had happened to them.

24 And they said to Yahusha, "Truly 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 (YAHUAH) has given into our hands all the land. Moreover, all the inhabitants of the land melt away before us."

CHAPTER 3

1 And Yahusha rose up early in the rising, and they moved from Shata’ym, and came to the Yardan, he and all the children of Yashar'AL. and they lodged there before they passed over.

2 And it came to be after three days, that the officers went through the midst of the camp,

3 and they commanded the people, saying, "When you see the Ark of the Bar’yath (covenant) of 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 (YAHUAH) Your ALUAH, and the ka’ahn’ym (priests) the Lu'ym (Loo’ym) bearing it, then you shall move from your place, and follow it.

4 Yet there shall be a space between you and it, about two thousand cubits by measure. Do not come near to it, that you may know the way by which you must go, for you have not passed this way before."

5 And Yahusha said to the people, “Make yourselves apart, for tomorrow 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 (YAHUAH) will do wonders among you."

6 And Yahusha spoke to the ka’ayn’ym (priests), saying, "Take up the Ark of the Bar’yath (covenant), and pass over before the people." They took up the Ark of the Bar’yath (covenant), and went before the people.

7 And 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 (YAHUAH) said to Yahusha, "Today I will begin to exalt you in the sight of all Yashar’AL, that they may know that as I was with Mashah, so I will be with you.

8 And you shall command the ka’ahn’ym (priests) who bear the Ark of the Bar’yath (covenant), saying, 'When you come to the brink of the waters of the Yardan, you shall stand still in the Yardan.'"

9 And Yahusha said to the children of Yashar'AL, "Come near, and hear the words of 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 (YAHUAH) Your ALUAH."

10 And Yahusha said, "Hereby you shall know that the Abiding AL is among you, and that He will without fail drive the Kanan'ya, and the Khath'ya, and the Khu'ya (Khoo’ya), and the Paraz'ya, and the Gar'gash'ya, and the Amar'ya, and the Yabus'ya (Yaboos’ya) out from before you.

11 Behold, the Ark of the Bar’yath (covenant) of The Sovereign of all the earth passes over before you into the Yardan.

12 Now therefore take twelve men out of the tribes of Yashar'AL, for every tribe a man.

13 And it shall come to pass, when the soles of the feet of the ka’ahn’ym (priests) who bear the Ark of 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 (YAHUAH), the Sovereign of all the earth, rest in the waters of the Yardan, that the waters of the Yardan will be cut off, even the waters that come down from above; and they shall stand in one heap."

14 And it came to be, when the people moved from their tents to pass over the Yardan, the ka’ahn’ym (priests) who bore the Ark of the Bar’yath (covenant) being before the people,

15 and when those who bore the Ark had come to the Yardan, and the feet of the ka’ahn’ym (priests) who bore the Ark had dipped in the edge of the water, for the Yardan overflows all its banks all the time of harvest,

16 that the waters which came down from above stood, and rose up in one heap, a great way off, at Adam, the city that is beside Tsara’than; and those that went down toward the sea of the plains, even the sea of salt, were wholly cut off. Then the people passed over right against Yara'yakhu.

17 And the ka’ahn’ym (priests) who bore the Ark of the Bar’yath (covenant) of 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 (YAHUAH) stood firm on dry ground in the middle of the Yardan, and all Yashar'AL passed over on dry ground, until all the nation had passed completely over the Yardan.

CHAPTER 4

1 And it came to be, when all the nation had completely passed over the Yardan, that 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 (YAHUAH) spoke to Yahusha, saying,

2 "Take twelve men out of the people, out of every tribe a man,

3 and command them, saying, 'Take from out of the middle of the Yardan, out of the place where the ka’ahn’ym (priests’) feet stood firm, twelve stones, and carry them over with you, and lay them down in the lodging place, where you will lodge tonight.'"

4 Then Yahusha called the twelve men, whom he had prepared of the children of Yashar'AL, out of every tribe a man.

5 And Yahusha said to them, "Pass over before the Ark of 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 (YAHUAH) your ALUAH into the middle of the Yardan, and each of you pick up a stone and put it on your shoulder, according to the number of the tribes of the children of Yashar'AL;

6 that this may be a sign among you, that when your children ask in time to come, saying, 'What do you mean by these stones?'

7 then you shall tell them, 'Because the waters of the Yardan were cut off before the Ark of the Bar’yath (covenant) of 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 (YAHUAH). When it passed over the Yardan, the waters of the Yardan were cut off. These stones shall be for a memorial to the children of Yashar'AL forever.'"

8 And the children of Yashar'AL did as Yahusha commanded, and took up twelve stones out of the middle of the Yardan, as 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 (YAHUAH) spoke to Yahusha, according to the number of the tribes of the children of Yashar'AL; and they carried them over with them to the place where they lodged, and laid them down there.

9 And Yahusha placed up twelve stones in the middle of the Yardan, in the place where the feet of the ka’ahn’ym (priests) who bore the Ark of the Bar’yath (covenant) stood; and they are there to this day.

10 For the ka’ahn’ym (priests) who bore the Ark stood in the middle of the Yardan, until everything was finished that 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 (YAHUAH) commanded Yahusha to speak to the people, according to all that Mashah commanded Yahusha; and the people hurried and passed over.

11 And it came to be, when all the people had completely passed over, that the Ark of 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 (YAHUAH) passed over, with the ka’ahn’ym (priests), in the appearance of the people.

12 And the sons of Rauban, and the sons of Gad, and the half-tribe of Mana'shah, passed over armed before the children of Yashar'AL, as Mashah spoke to them.

13 About forty thousand men, ready and armed for war passed over before 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 (YAHUAH) to battle, to the plains of Yara'yakhu.

14 And on that day, 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 (YAHUAH) exalted Yahusha in the sight of all Yashar'AL, and they feared him, as they feared Mashah, all the days of his khaYah (life).

15 And 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 (YAHUAH) spoke to Yahusha, saying:

16 "Command the ka’ahn’ym (priests) who bear the Ark of the Witness, that they come up out of the Yardan."

17 And Yahusha therefore commanded the ka’ahn’ym (priests), saying, "Come up out of the Yardan!"

18 And it came to be, when the ka’ahn’ym (priests) who bore the Ark of the Bar’yath (covenant) of 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 (YAHUAH) had come up out of the middle of the Yardan, and the soles of the ka’ahn’ym (priests’) feet were lifted up to the dry ground, that the waters of the Yardan returned to their place, and went over all its banks, as before.

19 And the people came up out of the Yardan on the tenth day of the first month, and encamped in Gal'gal, on the east border of Yara'yakhu.

20 And Yahusha placed up those twelve stones, which they took out of the Yardan, in Gal'gal.

21 And he spoke to the children of Yashar'AL, saying, "When your children ask their fathers in time to come, saying, 'What do these stones mean?'

22 Then you shall let your children know, saying, 'Yashar'AL came over this Yardan on dry land.

23 For 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 (YAHUAH) Your ALUAH dried up the waters of the Yardan from before you, until you had passed over, as 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 (YAHUAH) Your ALUAH did to the sea of reeds, which He dried up from before us, until we had passed over,

24 that all the peoples of the earth may know The Hand OF 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 (YAHUAH), that It is mighty; that you may fear 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 (YAHUAH) Your ALUAH forever.'"

CHAPTER 5

1 And it came to be, when all the kings of the Amar'ya, who were beyond the Yardan westward, and all the kings of the Kanan'ya, who were by the sea, heard how that 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 (YAHUAH) had dried up the waters of the Yardan from before the children of Yashar'AL, until we had passed over, that their heart melted, neither was there rukh in them any more, because of the children of Yashar'AL.

2 And at that time, 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 (YAHUAH) said to Yahusha, "Make flint knives, and circumcise again the children of Yashar'AL the second time."

3 And Yahusha made himself flint knives, and circumcised the children of Yashar'AL at the hill of the foreskins.

4 And this is the reason Yahusha circumcised: all the people who came out of Ma’tsara’ym, who were males, even all the men of war, died in the wilderness by the way, after they came out of Ma’tsara’ym.

5 For all the people who came out were circumcised, but all the people who were born in the wilderness by the way as they came out of Ma’tsara’ym had not been circumcised.

6 For the children of Yashar'AL walked forty years in the wilderness, until all the nation, even the men of war who came out of Ma’tsara’ym, were consumed, because they did not heArken to the voice of 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 (YAHUAH). And 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 (YAHUAH) swore to them that He would not let them see the land which 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 (YAHUAH) swore to their fathers that He would give us, a land flowing with milk and honey.

7 And their children, whom he raised up in their place, were circumcised by Yahusha, for they were uncircumcised, because they had not circumcised them on the way.

8 And it came to be, when they were done circumcising all the nation, that they stayed in their places in the camp until they were healed.

9 And 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 (YAHUAH) said to Yahusha, "Today I have rolled away the reproach of Ma’tsara’ym from off you." Therefore the name of that place was called Gal'gal, to this day.

10 And the children of Yashar'AL encamped in Gal'gal, and they kept the Pasakh on the fourteenth day of the month at evening in the plains of Yara'yakhu.

11 And they ate unleavened cakes and parched grain of the produce of the land on the next day after the Pasakh, in the same day.

12 And the mana ceased on the next day, after they had eaten of the produce of the land. And the children of Yashar'AL didn't have mana any more, but they ate of the fruit of the land of Kanan that year.

13 And it came to be, when Yahusha was by Yara'yakhu, that he lifted up his eyes and looked, and behold, a Man stood in front of him with his sword drawn in his hand. And Yahusha went to Him, and said to Him, "Are you for us, or for our adversaries?"

14 And He said, "No, but I have come now as commander of the army of 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 (YAHUAH)." And Yahusha fell on his face to the earth, and worshipped, and said to Him, "What does My Sovereign say to His servant?"

15 And The Prince of the army of 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 (YAHUAH) said to Yahusha, "Take your shoes off of your feet, for the place on which you stand is made apart." And Yahusha did so.

CHAPTER 6

1 Now Yara'yakhu was tightly shut up because of the children of Yashar'AL. No one went out, and no one came in.

2 And 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 (YAHUAH) said to Yahusha, "Behold, I have given Yara'yakhu into your hand, with its king and the mighty men of valor.

3 And all your men of war shall march around the city, going around the city once. You shall do this six days.

4 And seven ka’ahn’ym (priests) shall bear seven trumpets of rams' horns before the Ark. On the seventh day, you shall march around the city seven times, and the ka’ahn’ym (priests) shall blow the trumpets.

5 And it shall be that when they make a long blast with the ram's horn, and when you hear the sound of the trumpet, all the people shall shout with a great shout; and the wall of the city shall fall down flat, and the people shall go up every man straight before him."

6 And Yahusha son of Nun called the ka’ahn’ym (priests), and said to them, "Take up the Ark of the Bar’yath (covenant), and let seven ka’ahn’ym (priests) bear seven trumpets of rams' horns before the Ark of 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 (YAHUAH)."

7 And they said to the people, "Advance! March around the city, and let the armed men pass on before The Ark OF 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 (YAHUAH)."

8 And it was so, that when Yahusha had spoken to the people, the seven ka’ahn’ym (priests) bearing the seven trumpets of rams' horns before 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 (YAHUAH) advanced, and blew the trumpets, and the Ark of the Bar’yath (covenant) of 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 (YAHUAH) followed them.

9 And the armed men went before the ka’ahn’ym (priests) who blew the trumpets, and the Ark went after them. And the trumpets sounded as they went.

10 And Yahusha commanded the people, saying, "You shall not shout, nor let your voice be heard, neither shall any word proceed out of your mouth, until the day I tell you to shout. Then you shall shout."

11 So he caused the Ark of 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 (YAHUAH) to go around the city, going about it once. Then they came into the camp, and lodged in the camp.

12 And Yahusha rose early in the rising, and the ka’ahn’ym (priests) took up the Ark of 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 (YAHUAH).

13 And the seven ka’ahn’ym (priests) bearing the seven trumpets of rams' horns before the Ark of 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 (YAHUAH) went on continually, and blew the trumpets: and the armed men went before them. The rear guard came after the Ark of 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 (YAHUAH). The trumpets sounded as they went.

14 And the second day they marched around the city once, and returned into the camp. They did this six days.

15 And it came to be on the seventh day, that they rose early at the dawning of the day, and marched around the city in the same way seven times. Only on this day they marched around the city seven times.

16 And it came to be at the seventh time, when the ka’ahn’ym (priests) blew the trumpets, Yahusha said to the people, "Shout, for 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 (YAHUAH) has given you the city!

17 And the city shall be put under the ban, even it and all that is in it, to 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 (YAHUAH). Only Rakhab the whore shall dwell, she and all who are with her in the house, because she hid the messengers that we sent.

18 But as for you, only keep yourselves from that which is under the ban, lest when you come under the ban, you take of that which is under the ban, so would you make the camp of Yashar'AL accursed, and trouble it.

19 But all the silver, and gold, and vessels of bronze and iron, are made apart to 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 (YAHUAH). They shall come into the treasury of 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 (YAHUAH)."

20 So the people shouted, and the ka’ahn’ym (priests) blew the trumpets. And it came to be, when the people heard the sound of the trumpet, that the people shouted with a great shout, and the wall fell down flat, so that the people went up into the city, every man straight before him, and they took the city.

21 And they utterly destroyed all that was in the city, both man and woman, both young and old, and ox, and sheep, and donkey, with the edge of the sword.

22 And Yahusha said to the two men who had spied out the land, "Go into the whore’s house, and bring out from there the woman and all that she has, as you swore to her."

23 And the young men who were spies went in, and brought out Rakhab with her father, her mother, her brothers, and all that she had. They also brought out all her relatives, and they placed them outside of the camp of Yashar'AL.

24 And they burnt the city with fire, and all that was in it. Only they put the silver, the gold, and the vessels of bronze and of iron into the treasury of The House OF 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 (YAHUAH).

25 But Rakhab the whore, her father's household, and all that she had, Yahusha saved living. She dwelled in the midst of Yashar'AL to this day, because she hid the messengers, whom Yahusha sent to spy out Yara'yakhu.

26 And Yahusha commanded them with an oath at that time, saying, "Cursed is the man before 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 (YAHUAH), who rises up and builds this city Yara'yakhu. With the loss of his firstborn shall he lay its foundation, and with the loss of his youngest son shall he place up its gates."

27 So 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 (YAHUAH) was with Yahusha, and his report was in all the land.

CHAPTER 7

1 But the children of Yashar'AL committed a trespass regarding that which is under the ban: for Akan, son of Karama'ya, son of Zabada'ya, son of Zarakh, of the tribe of Yahudah, took of that which is under the ban. Therefore the anger of 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 (YAHUAH) burned against the children of Yashar'AL.

2 And Yahusha sent men from Yara'yakhu to Aya, which is beside Bayath A'un (A’oon), on the east side of Bayath AL, and spoke to them, saying, "Go up and spy out the land." The men went up and spied out Aya.

3 And they returned to Yahusha, and said to him, "Do not let all the people go up, but let about two or three thousand men go up and strike Aya. Don't make all the people to toil there, for there are only a few of them."

4 So about three thousand men of the people went up there, and they fled before the men of Aya.

5 And the men of Aya struck about thirty-six men of them, and they chased them from before the gate even to Shabara’ym, and struck them at the descent. So the hearts of the people melted, and became like water.

6 And Yahusha tore his clothes, and fell to the earth on his face before the Ark of 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 (YAHUAH) until the evening, he and the elders of Yashar'AL, and they put dust on their heads.

7 And Yahusha said, "Alas, Sovereign 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 (YAHUAH), why have You brought this people over the Yardan at all, to rescue us into the hand of the Amar'ya, to cause us to perish? If only we had been content and stayed beyond the Yardan!

8 Oh, Sovereign, what shall I say, after that Yashar'AL has turned their backs before their enemies!

9 For the Kanan'ya and all the inhabitants of the land will hear of it, and will surround us, and cut off our name from the earth. What will You do for Your Great Name?"

10 And 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 (YAHUAH) said to Yahusha, "Get up! Why are you fallen on your face like that?

11 Yashar'AL has transgressed, and they have even transgressed My Bar’yath (covenant) which I commanded them. And they have even taken of that which is under the ban, and have also stolen, and also deceived. And they have even put it among their own goods.

12 Therefore the children of Yashar'AL cannot stand before their enemies. They turn their backs before their enemies, because they have become accursed. I will not be with you any more, unless you destroy that which is under the ban from among you.

13 “Rise up! Make apart the people, and say, ‘Make yourselves apart for tomorrow, for 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 (YAHUAH), The ALUAH OF Yashar'AL, says, "That which is under the ban is in the midst of you, Yashar'AL. You cannot stand before your enemies until you take away that which is under the ban from among you."

14 “And in the rising therefore you shall be brought near by your tribes. And it shall be that the tribe which 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 (YAHUAH) selects shall come near by families. And the family which 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 (YAHUAH) selects shall come near by households. And the household which 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 (YAHUAH) selects shall come near man by man.

15 And it shall be, that he who is taken with that which is under the ban shall be burnt with fire, he and all that he has, because he has transgressed the Bar’yath (covenant) of 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 (YAHUAH), and because he has committed wickedness in Yashar'AL.'"

16 So Yahusha rose up early in the rising and brought Yashar'AL near by their tribes. And the tribe of Yahudah was selected.

17 And he brought near the family of Yahudah; and he selected the family of the Zarakh’ya. And he brought near the family of the Zarakh’ya man by man, and Zabada'ya was selected.

18 And he brought near his household man by man, and Akan, son of Karama'ya, son of Zabada'ya, son of Zarakh, of the tribe of Yahudah, was selected.

19 And Yahusha said to Akan, "My son, please give esteem to 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 (YAHUAH), The ALUAH OF Yashar'AL, and make confession to Him. Tell me now what you have done! Do not hide it from me!"

20 And Akan answered Yahusha, and said, "I have truly transgressed against 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 (YAHUAH), The ALUAH OF Yashar'AL, and this is what I have done.

21 When I saw among the spoil a beautiful Shanar robe, two hundred shaqal'ym of silver, and a wedge of gold weighing fifty shaqal'ym, then I coveted them and took them. Behold, they are hidden in the ground in the middle of my tent, with the silver under it."

22 So Yahusha sent messengers, and they ran to the tent. Behold, it was hidden in his tent, with the silver under it.

23 And they took them from the middle of the tent, and brought them to Yahusha and to all the children of Yashar'AL. And they laid them down before 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 (YAHUAH).

24 And Yahusha, and all Yashar'AL with him, took Akan son of Zarakh, the silver, the robe, the wedge of gold, his sons, his daughters, his cattle, his donkeys, his sheep, his tent, and all that he had; and they brought them up to the valley of Akur (Akoor).

25 And Yahusha said, "Why have you troubled us? 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 (YAHUAH) will trouble you this day." Then all Yashar'AL stoned him with stones, and they burned them with fire and stoned them with stones.

26 And they raised over him a great heap of stones that remains to this day. Then 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 (YAHUAH) turned from the fierceness of his anger. Therefore the name of that place was called "The valley of Akur" to this day.

CHAPTER 8

1 And 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 (YAHUAH) said to Yahusha, "Do not be afraid, neither be dismayed. Take all the people of war with you, and arise, go up to Aya (Uh’ya). Behold, I have given into your hand the king of Aya, with his people, his city, and his land.

2 You shall do to Aya and her king as you did to Yara'yakhu and her king, except its spoil and its livestock, you shall take for a plunder for yourselves. Make an ambush for the city behind it."

3 So Yahusha arose, and all the people of war, to go up to Aya. And Yahusha chose thirty thousand men, the mighty men of valor, and sent them out by night.

4 And he commanded them, saying, "Behold, you shall lie in ambush against the city, behind the city. Don't go very far from the city, but all of you be ready.

5 I, and all the people who are with me, will approach to the city. And it shall be, when they come out against us, as at the first, that we will flee before them.

6 And they will come out after us, until we have drawn them away from the city; for they will say, 'They flee before us, like the first time.' So we will flee before them,

7 And you shall rise up from the ambush, and take possession of the city; for 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 (YAHUAH) Your ALUAH will give it into your hand.

8 And it shall be, when you have seized on the city, that you shall place the city on fire. You shall do this according to the word of 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 (YAHUAH). Behold, I have commanded you."

9 And Yahusha sent them out, and they went to make up the ambush, and stayed between Bayath AL and Aya, on the west side of Aya, but Yahusha stayed among the people that night.

10 And Yahusha rose up early in the rising, inspected the people, and went up, he and the elders of Yashar'AL, before the people to Aya.

11 And all the people, even the men of war who were with him, went up, and drew near, and came before the city, and encamped on the north side of Aya. Now there was a valley between him and Aya.

12 And he took about five thousand men, and placed them in ambush between Bayath AL and Aya, on the west side of the city.

13 So they placed the people, even all the army who was on the north of the city, and their ambush on the west of the city; and Yahusha went that night into the midst of the valley.

14 And it came to be, when the king of Aya saw it, that they hurried and rose up early, and the men of the city went out against Yashar'AL to battle, he and all his people, at the time appointed, before the Arabah; but he did not know that there was an ambush against him behind the city.

15 And Yahusha and all Yashar'AL made as if they were beaten before them, and fled by the way of the wilderness.

16 And all the people who were in the city were called together to pursue after them. And they pursued Yahusha, and were drawn away from the city.

17 So there was not a man left in Aya or Bayath AL who didn't go out after Yashar'AL. And they left the city open, and pursued Yashar'AL.

18 And 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 (YAHUAH) said to Yahusha, "Stretch out the spear that is in your hand toward Aya, for I will give it into your hand." And Yahusha stretched out the spear that was in his hand toward the city.

19 And the ambush arose quickly out of their place, and they ran as soon as he had stretched out his hand, and entered into the city, and took it. And they hurried and placed the city on fire.

20 And when the men of Aya looked behind them, they saw, and behold, the smoke of the city ascended up to shama'ym, and they had no power to flee this way or that way. For the people who fled to the wilderness turned back on the pursuers.

21 And Yahusha and all Yashar'AL saw that the ambush had taken the city, and that the smoke of the city ascended, then they turned again, and slayed the men of Aya.

22 And the others came out of the city against them, so they were in the midst of Yashar'AL, some on this side, and some on that side. And they struck them, so that they let none of them remain or escape.

23 And they captured the king of Aya living, and brought him to Yahusha.

24 And it came to be, when Yashar'AL had made an end of slaying all the inhabitants of Aya in the field, in the wilderness in which they pursued them, and they had all fallen by the edge of the sword, until they were consumed, that all Yashar'AL returned to Aya, and struck it with the edge of the sword.

25 And all that fell that day, both of men and women, were twelve thousand, even all the men of Aya.

26 For Yahusha did not draw back his hand, with which he stretched out the spear, until he had utterly destroyed all the inhabitants of Aya.

27 Only the livestock and the spoil of that city Yashar'AL took for prey to themselves, according to the word of 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 (YAHUAH) which he commanded Yahusha.

28 So Yahusha burnt Aya, and made it a heap forever, even a desolation, to this day.

29 And he hanged the king of Aya on a tree until the evening, and at the sundown Yahusha commanded, and they took his body down from the tree, and threw it at the entrance of the gate of the city, and raised a great heap of stones on it that remains to this day.

30 Then Yahusha built an altar to 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 (YAHUAH), the ALUAH of Yashar'AL, in Mount Ayabal,

31 as Mashah the servant of 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 (YAHUAH) commanded the children of Yashar'AL, as it is written in the book of the Thur’ath of Mashah, an altar of uncut stones, on which no man had lifted up any iron. They offered burnt offerings on it to 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 (YAHUAH), and slaughteringd shalam (peace) offerings.

32 And he wrote there on the stones a copy of the Thur’ath of Mashah, which he wrote in the appearance of the children of Yashar'AL.

33 And all Yashar'AL, and their elders and officers, and their judges, stood on this side of the Ark and on that side before the ka’ahn’ym (priests) the Lu'ym, who carried the Ark of the Bar’yath (covenant) of 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 (YAHUAH), the foreigner as well as the native; half of them in front of Mount Garaz'ym, and half of them in front of Mount Ayabal, as Mashah the servant of 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 (YAHUAH) had commanded at the first, that they should Barak the people of Yashar'AL.

34 And afterward he read all the words of The Thurah, The Barakah and the curse, according to all that is written in the book of The Thurah.

35 There was not a word of all that Mashah commanded, which Yahusha did not read before all the assembly of Yashar'AL, with the women, the little ones, and the foreigners who were among them.

CHAPTER 9

1 And it came to be, when all the kings who were beyond the Yardan, in the mountain, and in the lowland, and on all the shore of the great sea in front of Laba'nun, the Khath'ya, the Amar'ya, the Kanan'ya, the Paraz'ya, the Khu'ya, and the Yabus'ya, heard of it,

2 They gathered themselves together to fight with Yahusha and with Yashar'AL, with one accord.

3 But when the inhabitants of Gaba'un (Gaba’oon) heard what Yahusha had done to Yara'yakhu and to Aya,

4 they also resorted to a ruse, and went and made as if they had been ambassadors, and took old sacks on their donkeys, and wineskins, old and torn and bound up,

5 and old and patched shoes on their feet, and wore old garments. And all the bread of their provision was dry and moldy.

6 And they went to Yahusha to the camp at Gal'gal, and said to him, and to the men of Yashar'AL, "We have come from a far land. Now therefore make a Bar’yath (covenant) with us."

7 And the men of Yashar'AL said to the Khu'ya, "What if you dwell among us, how could we make a Bar’yath (covenant) with you?"

8 And they said to Yahusha, "We are your servants." And Yahusha said to them, "Who are you? Where do you come from?"

9 And they said to him, "Your servants have come from a very far country because of the name of 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 (YAHUAH) Your ALUAH; for we have heard of His report, all that He did in Ma’tsara’ym,

10 and all that He did to the two kings of the Amar'ya who were beyond the Yardan, to Saya'khun (Saya’khoon) king of Khash'bun (Khash’boon) and to A'uga king of Bashan, who was at Ash'tha'ruth.

11 Our elders and all the inhabitants of our country spoke to us, saying, 'Take provision in your hand for the journey, and go to meet them, and tell them, "We are your servants. Now make a Bar’yath (covenant) with us."'

12 This our bread we took hot for our provision out of our houses on the day we went out to go to you, but now, behold, it is dry, and has become moldy.

13 These wineskins, which we filled, were new, and behold, they are torn. These our garments and our shoes have become old because of the very long journey."

14 And the men sampled their provisions, and did not ask counsel from the mouth of 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 (YAHUAH).

15 And Yahusha made shalum (peace) with them, and made a Bar’yath (covenant) with them, to let them dwell. And the princes of the congregation swore to them.

16 And it came to be at the end of three days after they had made a Bar’yath (covenant) with them, that they heard that they were their neighbors, and that they dwelled among them.

17 And the children of Yashar'AL traveled and came to their cities on the third day. Now their cities were Gaba'un, Kap'yarah, Bar'uth (Bar’ooth), and Qara’yath Ya’ara’ym.

18 And the children of Yashar'AL did not strike them, because the princes of the congregation had sworn to them by 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 (YAHUAH), The ALUAH OF Yashar'AL. And all the congregation murmured against the princes.

19 But all the princes said to all the congregation, "We have sworn to them by 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 (YAHUAH), The ALUAH OF Yashar'AL: Now therefore we may not touch them.

20 This we will do to them, and let them dwell; lest wrath be on us, because of the oath which we swore to them."

21 And the princes said to them, "Let them dwell, so they became wood cutters and drawers of water for all the congregation, as the princes had spoken to them."

22 And Yahusha called for them, and he spoke to them, saying, "Why have you deceived us, saying, 'We are very far from you,' when you dwell among us?

23 Now therefore you are cursed, and some of you will never fail to be bondservants, both wood cutters and drawers of water for the house of my ALUAH."

24 And they answered Yahusha, and said, "Because your servants were certainly told how 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 (YAHUAH) Your ALUAH commanded his servant Mashah to give you all the land, and to destroy all the inhabitants of the land from before you. Therefore we were very afraid for our beings because of you, and have done this thing.

25 Now, behold, we are in your hand. Do to us as good and right to you to do."

26 And he did so to them, and brought them out of the hand of the children of Yashar'AL, so that they did not slay them.

27 And that day Yahusha made them wood cutters and drawers of water for the congregation and for the altar of 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 (YAHUAH), to this day, in the place that He should choose.

CHAPTER 10

1 Now it came to be when Adan'ya-Tsadaq king of Yaru'shalam heard how Yahusha had taken Aya, and had utterly destroyed it; as he had done to Yara'yakhu and its king, so he had done to Aya and its king; and how the inhabitants of Gaba'un had made shal’yam (peace) with Yashar'AL, and were among them;

2 that they were very afraid, because Gaba'un was a great city, as one of the royal cities, and because it was greater than Aya, and all its men were mighty.

3 Therefore Adan'ya-Tsadaq king of Yaru'shalam sent to Hau'ahm king of Kha'brun (Kha’broon), to Param king of Yara'muth (Yara’mooth), and Yapa'ya king of Lak'yash, and to Daba'yar king of Ag'lun (Ag’loon), saying,

4 "Come up to me, and help me, and let us strike Gaba'un; for it has made shal’yam (peace) with Yahusha and with the children of Yashar'AL."

5 Therefore the five kings of the Amar'ya, the king of Yaru'shalam, the king of Kha'brun, the king of Yara'muth, the king of Lak'yash, the king of Ag'lun, gathered themselves together, and went up, they and all their armies, and encamped against Gaba'un, and made war against it.

6 And the men of Gaba'un sent to Yahusha to the camp to Gal'gal, saying, "Do not abandon your servants! Come up to us quickly, and save us, and help us; for all the kings of the Amar'ya that dwell in the mountain have gathered together against us."

7 So Yahusha went up from Gal'gal, he, and all the people of war with him, and all the mighty men of valor.

8 And 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 (YAHUAH) said to Yahusha, "Do not fear them, for I have brought them into your hands. Not a man of them will stand before you."

9 And Yahusha therefore came on them suddenly. He went up from Gal'gal all night.

10 And 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 (YAHUAH) confused them before Yashar'AL, and they slayed them with a great slaughter at Gaba'un, and chased them by the way of the ascent of Bayath Khu'ran (Khoo’ran), and struck them to Azaqah and to Maqadah.

11 And it came to be, as they fled from before Yashar'AL, while they were at the descent of Bayath Khu'ran, that 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 (YAHUAH) cast down great hailstones from the sky on them to Az'qah, and they died. There were more who died from the hailstones than who the children of Yashar'AL slayed with the sword.

12 Then Yahusha spoke to 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 (YAHUAH) in the day when 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 (YAHUAH) brought up the Amar'ya before the children of Yashar'AL; and he said in the sight of Yashar'AL, "Sun, stand still on Gaba'un! You, moon, stop in the valley of Ayalun (Aya’loon)!”

13 So the sun stood still, and the moon stayed, until the nation had avenged themselves of their enemies. Is this not written in the book of Yashar? Thus the sun stayed in the midst of the sky, and did not hurry to go down for an entire day.

14 There was no day like that before it or after it, that 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 (YAHUAH) listened to the voice of a man; for 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 (YAHUAH) fought for Yashar'AL.

15 And Yahusha returned, and all Yashar'AL with him, to the camp to Gal'gal.

16 Now these five kings fled, and hid themselves in the cave at Maqadah.

17 And Yahusha was told, saying, "The five kings are found, hidden in the cave at Maqadah."

18 And Yahusha said, "Roll large stones to the mouth of the cave, and place men by it to guard them;

19 But do not stay still. Pursue your enemies, and them from the rear. Do not allow them to enter into their cities; for 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 (YAHUAH) Your ALUAH has brought them into your hand."

20 And it came to be, when Yahusha and the children of Yashar'AL had finished slaying them with a very great slaughter until they were consumed, and the remnant which remained of them had entered into the fortified cities,

21 that all the people returned to the camp to Yahusha at Maqadah in shalum (peace). None moved his tongue against any of the children of Yashar'AL.

22 Then Yahusha said, "Open the mouth of the cave, and bring those five kings out of the cave to me."

23 And they did so, and brought those five kings out of the cave to him: the king of Yaru'shalam, the king of Kha'brun, the king of Yara'muth, the king of Lak'yash, and the king of Ag'lun.

24 And it came to be, when they brought those kings out to Yahusha, that Yahusha called for all the men of Yashar'AL, and said to the chiefs of the men of war who went with him, "Come near, put your feet on the necks of these kings." They came near, and put their feet on their necks.

25 And Yahusha said to them, "Do not be afraid, nor be dismayed. Be strong and courageous, for 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 (YAHUAH) will do this to all your enemies against whom you fight."

26 Afterward Yahusha struck them, put them to death, and hanged them on five trees. And they were hanging on the trees until the evening.

27 And it came to be at the time of the going down of the sun, that Yahusha commanded, and they took them down off the trees, and cast them into the cave in which they had hidden themselves, and laid great stones on the mouth of the cave, which remain to this very day.

28 And Yahusha took Maqadah on that day, and struck it with the edge of the sword, with its king. He utterly destroyed them and all the beings who were in it. He left none remaining. He did to the king of Maqadah as he had done to the king of Yara'yakhu.

29 And Yahusha passed from Maqadah, and all Yashar'AL with him, to Labanah, and fought against Labanah.

30 And 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 (YAHUAH) brought it also, with its king, into the hand of Yashar'AL. He struck it with the edge of the sword, and all the beings who were in it. He left none remaining in it. He did to its king as he had done to the king of Yara'yakhu.

31 And Yahusha passed from Labanah, and all Yashar'AL with him, to Lak'yash, and encamped against it, and fought against it.

32 And 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 (YAHUAH) brought Lak'yash into the hand of Yashar'AL. He took it on the second day, and struck it with the edge of the sword, with all the beings who were in it, according to all that he had done to Labanah.

33 Then Kharam king of Gazar came up to help Lak'yash; and Yahusha struck him and his people, until he had left him none remaining.

34 And Yahusha passed from Lak'yash, and all Yashar'AL with him, to Ag'lun; and they encamped against it fought against it.

35 And they took it on that day, and struck it with the edge of the sword. He utterly destroyed all the beings who were in it that day, according to all that he had done to Lak'yash.

36 And Yahusha went up from Ag'lun, and all Yashar'AL with him, to Kha'brun; and they fought against it.

37 And they took it, and struck it with the edge of the sword, with its king and all its cities, and all the beings who were in it. He left none remaining, according to all that he had done to Ag'lun, but he utterly destroyed it, and all the beings who were in it.

38 And Yahusha returned, and all Yashar'AL with him, to Daba'yar, and fought against it.

39 And he took it, with its king and all its cities. They struck them with the edge of the sword, and utterly destroyed all the beings who were in it. He left none remaining. As he had done to Kha'brun, so he did to Daba'yar, and to its king, as he had done also to Labanah, and to its king.

40 So Yahusha struck all the land, the mountain country, and the south, and the lowland, and the slopes, and all their kings. He left none remaining, but he utterly destroyed all that breathed, as 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 (YAHUAH), The ALUAH OF Yashar'AL, Commanded.

41 And Yahusha struck them from Qadash Barana even to Azah, and all the country of Gashan, even to Gaba'un.

42 And Yahusha took all these kings and their land at one time, because 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 (YAHUAH), The ALUAH OF Yashar'AL, fought for Yashar'AL.

43 And Yahusha returned, and all Yashar'AL with him, to the camp to Gal'gal.

CHAPTER 11

1 And it came to be, when Yaba’yan king of Kha'tsur (Kha’tsoor) heard of it, that he sent to Yubab king of Madun (Madoon), to the king of Sham'run (Sham’roon), to the king of Akashap,

2 and to the kings who were on the north, in the mountain, in the desert south of Kanar'uth (Kanar’ooth), in the lowland, and in the heights of Dur on the west,

3 to the Kanan'ya on the east and on the west, and the Amar'ya, and the Khath'ya, and the Paraz'ya, and the Yabus'ya in the mountain, and the Khu'ya under Khar'mun in the land of Mizpah.

4 And they went out, they and all their armies with them, many people, even as the sand that is on the seashore in multitude, with very many horses and chariots.

5 And all these kings met together, and they came and encamped together at the waters of Marum (Ma’room), to fight with Yashar'AL.

6 And 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 (YAHUAH) said to Yahusha, "Do not be afraid because of them; for tomorrow at this time, I will bring them up all slain before Yashar’AL. You shall hamstring their horses and burn their chariots with fire."

7 So Yahusha came, and all the people of war with him, against them by the waters of Marum suddenly, and fell on them.

8 And 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 (YAHUAH) brought them into the hand of Yashar'AL, and they struck them, and chased them to great Tsa'yadun (Tsa’ya’doon), and to Mashar'puth (Mashar’pooth) Mayam, and to the valley of Ma'tsapah eastward. They struck them until they left them none remaining.

9 And Yahusha did to them as 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 (YAHUAH) told him: he hamstrung their horses and burnt their chariots with fire.

10 And Yahusha turned back at that time, and took Kha'tsur, and struck its king with the sword: for Kha'tsur used to be the head of all those kingdoms.

11 And they struck all the beings who were in it with the edge of the sword, utterly destroying them. There was no one left who breathed. Then he burnt Kha'tsur with fire.

12 And Yahusha captured all the cities of those kings, with their kings, and he struck them with the edge of the sword, and utterly destroyed them; as Mashah the servant of 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 (YAHUAH) commanded.

13 But as for the cities that stood on their mounds, Yashar'AL burned none of them, except Yahusha only burned Kha'tsur.

14 And the children of Yashar'AL took all the spoil of these cities, with the livestock, as spoils for themselves; but every man they struck with the edge of the sword, until they had destroyed them. They did not leave any who breathed.

15 As 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 (YAHUAH) commanded Mashah his servant, so Mashah commanded Yahusha. And Yahusha did so. He left nothing undone of all that 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 (YAHUAH) commanded Mashah.

16 So Yahusha captured all that land, the mountain country, all the south, all the land of Gashan, the lowland, the desert, the mountain of Yashar'AL, and the lowland of the same;

17 from Mount Khalaq, that goes up to Sha'yar, even to Ba’al Gad in the valley of Laba'nun under Mount Khar'mun (Khar’moon). He took all their kings, struck them, and put them to death.

18 And Yahusha made war a long time with all those kings.

19 There was not a city that made shal’yam (peace) with the children of Yashar'AL, except the Khu'ya, the inhabitants of Gaba'un. They took all in battle.

20 For it was of 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 (YAHUAH) to harden their hearts, to come against Yashar'AL in battle, that He might utterly destroy them, that they might have no favor, but that He might destroy them, as 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 (YAHUAH) commanded Mashah.

21 And Yahusha came at that time, and cut off the Anaq'ym from the mountain, from Kha'brun, from Daba'yar, from Anab, and from all the mountain of Yahudah, and from all the mountain of Yashar'AL: Yahusha utterly destroyed them with their cities.

22 There were none of the Anaq'ym left in the land of the children of Yashar'AL. Only in Azah, in Gath, and in Ash'dud, did some remain.

23 So Yahusha took the whole land, according to all that 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 (YAHUAH) spoke to Mashah; and Yahusha gave it for an inheritance to Yashar'AL according to their divisions by their tribes. And the land rested from war.

CHAPTER 12

1 Now these are the kings of the land, whom the children of Yashar'AL struck, and possessed their land beyond the Yardan toward the sunrise, from the valley of the Ar'nun (Ar’noon) to Mount Khar'mun, and all the desert eastward:

2 Saya'khun king of the Amar'ya, who dwelled in Khash'bun, and ruled from Aru'ar, which is on the edge of the valley of the Ar'nun, and the middle of the valley, and half Gal'ad, even to the river Yabaq, the border of the children of Amun (A’moon);

3 and the desert to the sea of Kanar'uth (Kanar'ooth), eastward, and to the sea of the desert, even the sea of salt, eastward, the way to Bayath Ya'sham'uth (Ya’sham’ooth); and on the south, under the slopes of Pasagah:

4 and the border of A'uga king of Bashan, of the remnant of the Rapa'ym, who dwelled at Ash'tha'ruth and in Adara'ya,

5 and ruled in Mount Khar'mun, and in Salakah, and in all Bashan, to the border of the Gashura’ya and the Makath'ya, and half Gal'ad, the border of Saya'khun king of Khash'bun.

6 Mashah the servant of 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 (YAHUAH) and the children of Yashar'AL struck them. Mashah the servant of 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 (YAHUAH) gave it for a possession to the Rauban'ya, and the Gad'ya, and the half-tribe of Mana'shah.

7 And these are the kings of the land whom Yahusha and the children of Yashar'AL struck beyond the Yardan westward, from Ba’al Gad in the valley of Laba'nun even to Mount Khalaq, that goes up to Sha'yar. Yahusha gave it to the tribes of Yashar'AL for a possession according to their divisions,

8 in the mountain country, and in the lowland, and in the desert, and in the slopes, and in the wilderness, and in the south; the Khath'ya, the Amar'ya, and the Kanan'ya, the Paraz'ya, the Khu'ya, and the Yabus'ya:

9 the king of Yara'yakhu, one; the king of Aya, which is beside Bayath AL, one;

10 the king of Yaru'shalam, one; the king of Kha'brun, one;

11 the king of Yara'muth, one; the king of Lak'yash, one;

12 the king of Ag'lun, one; the king of Gazar, one;

13 the king of Daba'yar, one; the king of Gadar, one;

14 the king of Kharamah, one; the king of Arad, one;

15 the king of Labanah, one; the king of Adalam, one;

16 the king of Maqadah, one; the king of Bayath AL, one;

17 the king of Tha'pukh, one; the king of Khapar, one;

18 the king of Apaq, one; the king of La'shar'un (La’shar’oon), one;

19 the king of Madun (Ma’doon), one; the king of Kha'tsur, one;

20 the king of Sham'run Mara’un (Sham’roon Mara’oon), one; the king of Akashap, one;

21 the king of Thanak, one; the king of Maga'du, one;

22 the king of Qadash, one; the king of Yaqanam to Karmal, one;

23 the king of Dur in the height of Dur, one; the king of the nations in Gal'gal, one;

24 the king of Thar'tsah, one: all the kings thirty-one.

CHAPTER 13

1 Now Yahusha was old and well advanced in years. And 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 (YAHUAH) said to him, "You are old and advanced in years, and there remains yet very much land to be possessed.

2 "This is the land that still remains: all the regions of the Palash'tha'ym, and all the Gashura’ya;

3 from the Shaya'khur, which is before Ma’tsara’ym, even to the border of Aq'run (Aq’roon) northward, which is counted as Kanan'ya; the five Sovereigns of the Palash'tha'ym; the Azath’ya, and the Ash'dud’ya, the Ash’qalun’ya (Ash’qaloon’ya), the Gath’ya, and the Aq'run’ya; also the A’u’ym (Uh’oo’ym),

4 on the south; all the land of the Kanan'ya, and Marah (Muhrah) that belongs to the Tsa'yadan’ym, to Apaq, to the border of the Amar'ya;

5 and the land of the Gabal’ya, and all Laba'nun, toward the sunrise, from Ba’al Gad under Mount Khar'mun to the entrance of Khamath;

6 all the inhabitants of the mountain from Laba'nun to Mashar'puth Mayam, even all the Tsa'yadan’ym; them will I drive out from before the children of Yashar'AL: only allocate it to Yashar'AL for an inheritance, as I have commanded you.

7 Now therefore divide this land for an inheritance to the nine tribes and the half-tribe of Mana'shah."

8 With him the Rauban'ya and the Gad'ya received their inheritance, which Mashah gave them, beyond the Yardan eastward, even as Mashah the servant of 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 (YAHUAH) gave them:

9 from Aru'ar, that is on the edge of the valley of the Ar'nun, and the city that is in the middle of the valley, and all the plain of Ma'yadaba to Daya'bun (Daya’boon);

10 and all the cities of Saya'khun king of the Amar'ya, who reigned in Khash'bun, to the border of the children of Amun;

11 and Gal'ad, and the border of the Gashura’ya and Makath'ya, and all Mount Khar'mun, and all Bashan to Salakah;

12 all the kingdom of A'uga in Bashan, who reigned in Ash'tha'ruth and in Adara'ya (the same was left of the remnant of the Rapa'ym); for Mashah attacked these, and drove them out.

13 Nevertheless the children of Yashar'AL did not drive out the Gashura’ya, nor the Makath'ya: but Ga’shur and Makath dwell in the midst of Yashar'AL to this day.

14 Only he gave no inheritance to the tribe of Lu'ya (Loo’ya). The offerings of 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 (YAHUAH), the ALUAH of Yashar'AL, made by fire are his inheritance, as he spoke to him.

15 And Mashah gave to the tribe of the children of Rauban according to their families.

16 And their border was from Aru'ar, that is on the edge of the valley of the Ar'nun, and the city that is in the middle of the valley, and all the plain by Ma'yadaba,

17 Khash'bun, and all its cities that are in the plain; Daya'bun (Daya’boon), Bamuth (Bamooth) Ba’al, Bayath Ba’al Ma’un,

18 And Yah'tsah, and Qadamath, and Mapath,

19 And Qara’yath’ym, and Shabamah, and Tsarath Ha’Shakhar in the mount of the valley,

20 And Bayath Pa'ur, and the slopes of Pasagah, Bayath Ya'sham'uth (Ya’sham’ooth),

21 and all the cities of the plain, and all the kingdom of Saya'khun king of the Amar'ya, who reigned in Khash'bun, whom Mashah struck with the chiefs of Mada'yan, A’u’ya (A’oo’ya), and Raqam, and Tsur, and Khur, and Raba, the princes of Saya'khun, who dwelled in the land.

22 And the children of Yashar'AL also slayed Balam also son of Ba’ur, the soothsayer, with the sword, among the rest of their slain.

23 And the border of the children of Rauban was the bank of the Yardan. This was the inheritance of the children of Rauban according to their families, the cities and its villages.

24 Mashah gave to the tribe of Gad, to the children of Gad, according to their families.

25 And their border was Ya'zar (Yuh'zar), and all the cities of Gal'ad, and half the land of the children of Amun, to Aru'ar that is before Rabah,

26 and from Khash'bun to Ramath Ma'tsapah, and Batan'ym; and from Makhan'ym to the border of Daba'yar;

27 and in the valley, Bayath Haram, and Bayath Namarah, and Sakuth (Sakooth), and Tsa’pun (Tsa’poon), the rest of the kingdom of Saya'khun king of Khash'bun, the bank of the Yardan, to the uttermost part of the sea of Kanarath beyond the Yardan eastward.

28 This is the inheritance of the children of Gad according to their families, the cities and its villages.

29 Mashah gave an inheritance to the half-tribe of Mana'shah. It was for the half-tribe of the children of Mana'shah according to their families.

30 Their border was from Makhan'ym, all Bashan, all the kingdom of A'uga king of Bashan, and all the towns of Ya’ayar, which are in Bashan, sixty cities.

31 Half Gal'ad, Ash'tha'ruth, and Adara'ya, the cities of the kingdom of A'uga in Bashan, were for the children of Maka'yar son of Mana'shah, even for the half of the children of Maka'yar according to their families.

32 These are the inheritances which Mashah distributed in the plains of Mu'ab, beyond the Yardan at Yara'yakhu, eastward.

33 But to the tribe of Lu'ya Mashah gave no inheritance. 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 (YAHUAH), The ALUAH OF Yashar'AL, IS their inheritance, as He spoke to them.

CHAPTER 14

1 Now these are the inheritances which the children of Yashar'AL took in the land of Kanan, which AL'azar the ka’ahn (priest), Yahusha son of Nun, and the heads of the fathers' houses of the tribes of the children of Yashar'AL, distributed to them,

2 by the lot of their inheritance, as 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 (YAHUAH) commanded by Mashah, for the nine tribes, and the half-tribe.

3 For Mashah had given the inheritance of the two tribes and the half-tribe beyond the Yardan; but to the Lu'ym he gave no inheritance among them.

4 For the children of Yahu'sap were two tribes, Mana'shah and Apara’ym: and they gave no portion to the Lu'ym in the land, except cities to dwell in, with their open land for their livestock and for their property.

5 And the children of Yashar'AL did as 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 (YAHUAH) commanded Mashah, and they divided the land.

6 Then the children of Yahudah drew near to Yahusha in Gal'gal. And Kalab son of Yapanah the Qanaz'ya said to him, "You know the word that 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 (YAHUAH) spoke to Mashah the man of ALUAH concerning me and concerning you in Qadash Barana.

7 I was forty years old when Mashah the servant of 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 (YAHUAH) sent me from Qadash Barana to spy out the land. I brought him word again as it was in my heart.

8 Nevertheless, my brothers who went up with me made the heart of the people melt; but I wholly followed 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 (YAHUAH) MY ALUAH.

9 So Mashah swore on that day, saying, 'Surely the land where you walked shall be an inheritance to you and to your children forever, because you have wholly followed 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 (YAHUAH) MY ALUAH.'

10 "Now, behold, 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 (YAHUAH) has kept me living, as he spoke, these forty-five years, from the time that 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 (YAHUAH) spoke this word to Mashah, while Yashar'AL walked in the wilderness. Now, behold, I am eighty-five years old, today.

11 As yet I am as strong today as I was in the day that Mashah sent me: as my strength was then, even so is my strength now for war, to go out and to come in.

12 Now therefore give me this mountain, of which 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 (YAHUAH) spoke in that day; for you heard in that day how the Anaq'ym were there, and great and fortified cities. It may be that 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 (YAHUAH) will be with me, and I shall drive them out, as 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 (YAHUAH) spoke."

13 And Yahusha Barak him; and he gave Kha'brun to Kalab son of Yapanah for an inheritance. 14 Therefore Kha'brun became the inheritance of Kalab son of Yapanah the Qanaz'ya to this day; because he wholly followed 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 (YAHUAH), The ALUAH OF Yashar'AL.

15 Now the name of Kha'brun before was Qara’yath Arba, after the greatest man among the Anaq'ym. And the land had rest from war.

CHAPTER 15

1 And the lot for the tribe of the children of Yahudah according to their families was to the border of Adum, even to the wilderness of Tsan southward, at the uttermost part of the south.

2 And their south border was from the uttermost part of the sea of salt, from the bay that looks southward;

3 and it went out southward of the ascent of A'qarab'ym, and passed along to Tsan, and went up by the south of Qadash Barana, and passed along by Khatsar'un (Khatsar’oon), went up to Adarah, and turned about to Qarqa’ah,

4 and it passed along to Ats’munah, went out at the brook of Ma’tsara’ym; and the border ended at the sea. This shall be your south border.

5 And the east border was the sea of salt, even to the end of the Yardan. The border of the north quarter was from the bay of the sea at the end of the Yardan.

6 And the border went up to Bayath Khag'lah, and passed along by the north of Bayath Arabah; and the border went up to the stone of Ba'ahn son of Rauban.

7 And the border went up to Daba'yar from the valley of Akur, and so northward, looking toward Gal'gal, that is over against the ascent of Adam'ym, which is on the south side of the river. The border passed along to the waters of Ayan Shamash, and ended at Ayan Ragal.

8 And the border went up by the valley of son of Hanam to the side of the Yabus'ya southward that is Yaru'shalam, and the border went up to the top of the mountain that lies before the valley of Hanam westward, which is at the farthest part of the valley of Rapa'ym northward.

9 And the border extended from the top of the mountain to the spring of the waters of Nap'thukh, and went out to the cities of Mount Apara'un (Apara’oon); and the border extended to Baalah that is Qara’yath Ya’ara’ym,

10 and the border turned about from Baalah westward to Mount Sha'yar, and passed along to the side of Mount Yara’ym on the north that is Kasal'un (Kasal’oon), and went down to Bayath Shamash, and passed along by Tha'manah,

11 and the border went out to the side of Aq'run northward; and the border extended to Shakar'unah, and passed along to Mount Baalah, and went out at Yaban'AL; and the goings out of the border were at the sea.

12 And the west border was to the shore of the great sea. This is the border of the children of Yahudah according to their families.

13 And to Kalab son of Yapanah he gave a portion among the children of Yahudah, according to the commandment of 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 (YAHUAH) to Yahusha, even Qara’yath Arba, named after the father of Anak, that is Kha'brun).

14 And Kalab drove out the three sons of Anak: Shash’ya, and Akh’yaman, and Thalam’ya, the children of Anak.

15 And he went up against the inhabitants of Daba'yar: now the name of Daba'yar before was Qara’yath Sapar.

16 And Kalab said, "He who strikes Qara’yath Sapar, and takes it, to him will I give Ak'sah my daughter as wife."

17 And Athan'ya'AL son of Qanaz, the brother of Kalab, took it: and he gave him Ak'sah his daughter as wife.

18 And it came to be, when she came, that she had him ask her father fore a field. She got off of her donkey, and Kalab said, "What do you want?"

19 And she said, "Give me a Barakah. Because you have placed me in the land of the South, give me also fountains of water." He gave her the upper fountainss and the lower fountains.

20 This is the inheritance of the tribe of the children of Yahudah according to their families.

21 The farthest cities of the tribe of the children of Yahudah toward the border of Adum in the South were Qabats'AL, and Adar, and Yagur,

22 and Qayaah, and Dayamunah, and Adadah,

23 and Qadash, and Kha'tsur, and Yath’nan,

24 Zayap, and Talam, and Ba’aluth,

25 and Kha'tsur, Khad’thah, and Qar’yuth (Qar’yooth) Khatsar'un (Kha’tsa’roon), that is Kha'tsur,

26 Amam, and Shama, and Muladah,

27 and Khatsar Gadah, and Khash’mun (Khash’moon), and Bayath Palat,

28 and Khatsar Shual, and Ba'ar Shaba, and Baza’yuth’Yah (Baza’yooth’Yah),

29 Baalah, and Aya’ym, and A’tsam,

30 and AL’thu’lad (AL’thoo’lad), and Kasayal, and Kharamah,

31 and Tsaq’lag, and Mad’manah, and San’sanah,

32 and Laba’uth (Laba’ooth), and Shalakh’ym, and Ayan, and Ramun (Ramoon). All the cities are twenty-nine, with their villages.

33 In the lowland: Ash’tha’ul (Ash’tha’ool), and Tsara’ah, and Ashanah,

34 and Zanukh, and Ayan Gan’ym, Tha'pukh, and the Ayanam,

35 Yara'muth and Adalam, Shukah (Shookah) and Az'qah,

36 and Shaar’ym, and Ada’yath’ym and Gadarah and Gadar’tha’ym; fourteen cities with their villages.

37 Tsanan, and Khadashah, and Magadal Gad,

38 and Dalan, and the Ma'tsapah, and Yaqath'AL,

39 Lak'yash, and Bats’qath, and Ag'lun (Ag’loon),

40 and Kabun (Kaboon), and Lakhamas, and Kathala’yash,

41 and Gadar’uth, Bayath Dagun (Dagoon), and Namah, and Maqadah; sixteen cities with their villages.

42 Labanah, and Athar, and Ashan,

43 and Yapa'thakh, and Ashanah, and Natsa’yab,

44 and Qa’yalah, and Aka'zayab, and Mara’shah; nine cities with their villages.

45 Aq'run (Aq’roon), with its towns and its villages;

46 from Aq'run even to the sea, all that were by the side of Ash'dud (Ash’dood), with their villages.

47 Ash'dud, its towns and its villages; Azah, its towns and its villages; to the brook of Ma’tsara’ym, and the great sea with its coastline.

48 And in the mountain country, Sham’yar, and Yatha’yar, and Shukah (Shookah),

49 and Danah, and Qara’yath Sanah, that is Dabar,

50 and Anab, and Asha’thamah, and Ana’ym,

51 and Gashan, and Khalan, and Galah; eleven cities with their villages.

52 Arab, and Rumah (Roomah), and Ashan,

53 and Yanum (Ya’noom), and Bayath Tha'pukh, and Apaqah,

54 and Khamatah, and Qara’yath Arba, that is Kha'brun, and Tsa’yar; nine cities with their villages.

55 Ma’un, Karmal, and Zayap, and Yutah (Yootah),

56 and Yazara'AL, and Yakadam, and Zanukh,

57 The Qayan, Gaba’ah, and Tha'manah; ten cities with their villages.

58 Khal’khul, Bayath Tsur, and Gadur,

59 and Marath, and Bayath Anuth (Uh’nooth), and AL’thaqan; six cities with their villages.

60 Qara’yath Ba’al, that is Qara’yath Ya'ara’ym, and the Rabah; two cities with their villages.

61 In the wilderness: The Bayath Arabah, Mada’yan, and Sa’kakah,

62 and the Naba’shan, and the City of Salt, and Ayan Gad’ya; six cities with their villages.

63 As for the Yabus'ya, the inhabitants of Yaru'shalam, the children of Yahudah could not drive them out; but the Yabus'ya dwell with the children of Yahudah at Yaru'shalam to this day.

CHAPTER 16

1 And the lot came out for the children of Yahu'sap from the Yardan at Yara'yakhu, at the waters of Yara'yakhu on the east, even the wilderness, going up from Yara'yakhu through the mountain to Bayath AL.

2 and went out from Bayath AL to Lazah, and passed along to the border of the Araka’ya at Atar’uth (Atar’ooth);

3 and it went down westward to the border of the Ya’palat’ya, to the border of Bayath Khu'ran the lower, even to Gazar; and ended at the sea.

4 Thus the children of Yahu'sap, Mana'shah and Apara’ym, took their inheritance.

5 This was the border of the children of Apara’ym according to their families. The border of their inheritance eastward was Atar'uth Adar, to Bayath Khu'ran the upper.

6 And the border went out westward at Makamath'tha on the north. The border turned about eastward to Than’tha Shalah, and passed along it on the east of Yanukhah (Ya’noo’khah).

7 And it went down from Yanukhah to Atar'uth, to Nara’thah, reached to Yara'yakhu, and went out at the Yardan.

8 From Tha'pukh the border went along westward to the brook of Kanah; and ended at the sea. This is the inheritance of the tribe of the children of Apara’ym according to their families;

9 together with the cities which were made apart for the children of Apara’ym in the midst of the inheritance of the children of Mana'shah, all the cities with their villages.

10 And they did not drive out the Kanan'ya who dwelled in Gazar; but the Kanan'ya dwell in the midst of Apara’ym to this day, and have become servants to do compulsory labor.

CHAPTER 17

1 And this was the lot for the tribe of Mana'shah, for he was the firstborn of Yahu'sap. As for Maka'yar the firstborn of Mana'shah, the father of Gal'ad, because he was a man of war, therefore he had Gal'ad and Bashan.

2 So this was for the rest of the children of Mana'shah according to their families: for the children of Ab’ya’azar, for the children of Khalaq, for the children of Ashara’ya’AL, for the children of Shakam, for the children of Khapar, and for the children of Sham’yada: these were the male children of Mana'shah son of Yahu'sap according to their families.

3 But for Tsala’pa’khad, son of Khapar, son of Gal'ad, son of Maka'yar, son of Mana'shah, had no sons, but daughters: and these are the names of his daughters: Makhalah, Na’ah, Khag'lah, Malakah, and Thar'tsah.

4 And they came near before AL'azar the ka’ahn (priest), and before Yahusha son of Nun, and before the princes, saying, "𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 (YAHUAH) commanded Mashah to give us an inheritance among our brothers." Therefore according to the commandment of 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 (YAHUAH) he gave them an inheritance among the brothers of their father.

5 And ten parts fell to Mana'shah, besides the land of Gal'ad and Bashan, which is beyond the Yardan;

6 Because the daughters of Mana'shah had an inheritance among his sons. And the land of Gal'ad belonged to the rest of the sons of Mana'shah.

7 And the border of Mana'shah was from Ashar to Makamath'tha, which is before Shakam. And the border went along to the right hand, to the inhabitants of Ayan Tha'pukh.

8 And the land of Tha'pukh belonged to Mana'shah; but Tha'pukh on the border of Mana'shah belonged to the children of Apara’ym.

9 And the border went down to the brook of Kanah, southward of the brook. And these cities belonged to Apara’ym among the cities of Mana'shah. And the border of Mana'shah was on the north side of the brook, and ended at the sea.

10 Southward it was Apara’ym's, and northward it was Mana'shah's, and the sea was his border. And they reached in Ashar on the north, and in Ya'shasha'kar on the east.

11 And in Ya'shasha'kar and in Ashar, Mana’shah had Bayath Sha’an and its towns, and Yabalam and its towns, and the inhabitants of Dar and its towns, and the inhabitants of Ayan Dar and its towns, and the inhabitants of Thanak and its towns, and the inhabitants of Maga'du and its towns, three of the heights.

12 Yet the children of Mana'shah could not drive out the inhabitants of those cities; but the Kanan'ya would dwell in that land.

13 And it came to be, when the children of Yashar'AL had grown strong, that they put the Kanan'ya to compulsory labor, and did not utterly drive them out.

14 And the children of Yahu'sap spoke to Yahusha, saying, "Why have you given me just one lot and one part for an inheritance, since I am a great people, because 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 (YAHUAH) has Barak us so far?"

15 And Yahusha said to them, "If you are a great people, go up to the forest, and clear land for yourself there in the land of the Paraz'ya and of the Rapa'ym; since the mountain of Apara’ym is too narrow for you."

16 And the children of Yahu'sap said, "The mountain is not enough for us, and all the Kanan'ya who dwell in the land of the valley have chariots of iron, both those who are in Bayath Sha’an and its towns, and those who are in the valley of Yazara'AL."

17 And Yahusha spoke to the house of Yahu'sap, even to Apara’ym and to Mana'shah, saying, "You are a great people, and have great power. You shall not have one lot only;

18 for the mountain shall be yours. Although it is a forest, you shall cut it down, and its farthest extent shall be yours. For you shall drive out the Kanan'ya, though they have chariots of iron, and though they are strong."

CHAPTER 18

1 And the whole congregation of the children of Yashar'AL assembled themselves together at Shalah, and placed up the Tent of Meeting there. And the land was subdued before them.

2 And seven tribes remained among the children of Yashar'AL, which had not yet divided their inheritance.

3 And Yahusha said to the children of Yashar'AL, "How long will you neglect to go in to possess the land, which 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 (YAHUAH), The ALUAH of Your fathers, has given you?

4 Appoint for yourselves three men from each tribe. I will send them, and they shall arise, walk through the land, and describe it according to their inheritance; and they shall come to me.

5 And they shall divide it into seven portions. Yahudah shall dwell in his borders on the south, and the house of Yahu'sap shall dwell in their borders on the north.

6 And you shall survey the land into seven parts, and bring the description here to me; and I will cast lots for you here before 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 (YAHUAH) Our ALUAH.

7 For the Lu'ym have no portion among you; for the ka’ahn’ath (priesthood) of 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 (YAHUAH) is their inheritance. Gad, Rauban, and the half-tribe of Mana'shah have received their inheritance beyond the Yardan eastward, which Mashah the servant of 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 (YAHUAH) gave them."

8 And the men arose and went. And Yahusha commanded those who went to survey the land, saying, "Go walk through the land, survey it, and come again to me. I will cast lots for you here before 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 (YAHUAH) in Shalah."

9 And the men went and passed through the land, and surveyed it by cities into seven portions in a book. And they came to Yahusha to the camp at Shalah.

10 And Yahusha cast lots for them in Shalah before 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 (YAHUAH). There Yahusha divided the land to the children of Yashar'AL according to their divisions.

11 And the lot of the tribe of the children of Ban'yaman came up according to their families. And the border of their lot went out between the children of Yahudah and the children of Yahu'sap.

12 And their border on the north quarter was from the Yardan. And the border went up to the side of Yara'yakhu on the north, and went up through the mountain westward and ended at the wilderness of Bayath A'un.

13 And the border passed along from there to Luzah, to the side of Luzah, that is Bayath AL, southward. And the border went down to Atar'uth Adar, by the mountain that lies on the south of Bayath Khu'ran the lower.

14 And the border extended, and turned around on the west quarter southward, from the mountain that lies before Bayath Khu'ran southward; and ended at Qara’yath Ba’al, that is Qara’yath Ya’ara’ym, a city of the children of Yahudah. This was the west quarter.

15 And the south quarter was from the farthest part of Qara’yath Ya’ara’ym. The border went out westward, and went out to the fountain of the waters of Nap'thukh.

16 And the border went down to the farthest part of the mountain that lies before the valley of son of Hanam, which is in the valley of Rapa'ym northward. It went down to the valley of Hanam, to the side of the Yabus'ya southward, and went down to Ayan Ragal.

17 And it extended northward, went out at Ayan Shamash, and went out to Gal’yal’uth (Gal’yal’ooth), which is over against the ascent of Adam'ym. It went down to the stone of Ba'ahn son of Rauban.

18 And it passed along to the side over against the Arabah northward, and went down to the Arabah.

19 And the border passed along to the side of Bayath Khag'lah northward; and the border ended at the north bay of the sea of salt, at the south end of the Yardan, and this was the south border.

20 And the Yardan was its border on the east quarter. This was the inheritance of the children of Ban'yaman, by the borders around it, according to their families.

21 Now the cities of the tribe of the children of Ban'yaman according to their families were Yara'yakhu, and Bayath Khag'lah, and Amaq Qatsa’yats,

22 and Bayath Arabah, and Tsamar’ym, and Bayath AL,

23 and the A’u’ym (Uh’oo’ym), and Parah, and Aparah,

24 and Kapar Ha’Aman’ya, and the Apan’ya, and Gaba; twelve cities with their villages.

25 Gaba'un, and the Ramah, and Bar'uth (Bar’ooth),

26 and the Ma'tsapah, and the Kap'yarah, and the Matsah,

27 and Raqam, and Yarap’AL, and Tha’ralah,

28 and Tsalah, Ha’AL’pa, and the Yabus'ya, that is Yaru'shalam, Gabath, and Qara’yath; fourteen cities with their villages. This is the inheritance of the children of Ban'yaman according to their families.

CHAPTER 19

1 And the second lot came out for Shama'un (Shama’oon), even for the tribe of the children of Shama'un according to their families. And their inheritance was in the midst of the inheritance of the children of Yahudah.

2 And they had for their inheritance Ba'ar Shaba, or Shaba, and Muladah,

3 and Khatsar Shual, and Balah, and A’tsam,

4 and AL’thu’lad (AL’thoo’lad), and Bathul (Bathool), and Kharamah,

5 and Tsaq’lag, and Bayath Marka’buth (Mar’ka’booth), and Khatsar Susah (Soosah),

6 and Bayath Laba’uth (Laba’ooth), and Sharu’khan; thirteen cities with their villages;

7 Ayan, Ramun, and Athar, and Ashan; four cities with their villages;

8 and all the villages that were around these cities to Baalath Ba’ar, Ramah of the South. This is the inheritance of the tribe of the children of Shama'un according to their families.

9 Out of the part of the children of Yahudah was the inheritance of the children of Shama'un; for the portion of the children of Yahudah was too much for them. Therefore the children of Shama'un had inheritance in the midst of their inheritance.

10 And the third lot came up for the children of Zabulan according to their families. And the border of their inheritance was to Shara'yad.

11 And their border went up westward, even to Maralah, and reached with Daba’shath. And it reached to the brook that is before Yaqanam.

12 And turned from Shara'yad eastward toward the sunrise to the border of Kasal’tha Thabur. And it went out to Dabar’tha, and went up to Yapa'ya.

13 From there it passed along eastward to Gath Khapar, Athah Qatsa’yan; and it went out at Ramun which stretches to Ha’Na’ah.

14 And the border turned around it on the north to Khana’than; and it ended at the valley of Yapa'thakh AL;

15 And Qat’ath, and Nahalal, and Shamar’un, and Yad’AL’ah, and Bayath Lakham: twelve cities with their villages.

16 This is the inheritance of the children of Zabulan according to their families, these cities with their villages.

17 The fourth lot came out for Ya'shasha'kar, even for the children of Ya'shasha'kar according to their families.

18 And their border was to Yazara'AL, and Ha’Kasul’tha, and Shunam,

19 and Khapara’ym, and Sha’yan, and Ana’thar’tha,

20 and Ha’Rab’yath, and Qash’yun (Qash’yoon), and Abats,

21 and Ramath, Ayan Gan’ym, Ayan Khadah, and Bayath Pa’tsaz.

22 And the border reached in Thabur, and Sha’khats’yamah, and Bayath Shamash. And their border ended at the Yardan: sixteen cities with their villages.

23 This is the inheritance of the tribe of the children of Ya'shasha'kar according to their families, the cities with their villages.

24 And the fifth lot came out for the tribe of the children of Ashar according to their families.

25 And their border was Khal’qath, and Khal’ya, and Batan, and Akashap,

26 and AL’Malak, and Amad, and Mash’AL. And it reached to Karmal westward, and to Shaya'khur Laba’nath.

27 And it turned toward the sunrise to Bayath Dagun, and reached in Zabal’un, and to the valley of Yapa'thakh AL northward to Bayath Ha’Amaq and Na’ya’AL. And it went out to Kabul on the left hand,

28 and Abaran, and Rakhab, and Hamun, and Kanah, even to great Tsa'yadun (Tsa’ya’doon).

29 And the border turned to Ramah, to the fortified city of Tsar; and the border turned to Khasah. It ended at the sea by the region of Aka'zayab’ah;

30 Amah also, and Apaq, and Rakhab: twenty-two cities with their villages.

31 This is the inheritance of the tribe of the children of Ashar according to their families, these cities with their villages.

32 And the sixth lot came out for the children of Nap'thal'ya, even for the children of Nap'thal'ya according to their families.

33 And their border was from Khalap, from the oak in Tsa’nana’ym, and Adam’ya Ha’naqab, and Yaban'AL, as far as La’qum (La’qoom). And it ended at the Yardan.

34 And the border turned westward to Azan’uth (Azan’ooth) Thabur, and went out from there to Khu’qaqah. And it reached with Zabal’un on the south, and reached to Ashar on the west, and to Yahudah at the Yardan toward the sunrise.

35 And the fortified cities were Ha’Tsada’ym, Tsar, and Khamath, Raqath, and Kanarath,

36 and Adamah, and Ramah, and Kha'tsur,

37 and Qadash, and Adara'ya, and Ayan Kha'tsur,

38 and Yara’un (Yara’oon), Magadal AL, Kharam, Bayath Anath, and Bayath Shamash; nineteen cities with their villages.

39 This is the inheritance of the tribe of the children of Nap'thal'ya according to their families, the cities with their villages.

40 And the seventh lot came out for the tribe of the children of Dan according to their families.

41 And the border of their inheritance was Tsara’ah, and Ash’tha’ul, and Ayar Shamash,

42 and Shaal’bayan, and Ayalun, and Yakh’lah,

43 and Ayalun (Aya’loon), and Tha'manah, and Aq'run,

44 and AL’thaqah, and Gaba’thun (Gaba’thoon), and Baal’ath,

45 and Yah’da, and Ban’ya Baraq, and Gath Ramun,

46 and Maya Ha’Yarqun (Yarqoon), and Ha’Raqun (Raqoon), with the border over against Ya’pu.

47 And the border of the children of Dan went out beyond them; for the children of Dan went up and fought against Lasham, and took it, and struck it with the edge of the sword, and possessed it, and dwelled therein, and called Lasham, Dan, after the name of Dan their father.

48 This is the inheritance of the tribe of the children of Dan according to their families, these cities with their villages.

49 So they made an end of distributing the land for inheritance by its borders. And the children of Yashar'AL gave an inheritance to Yahusha son of Nun in the midst of them.

50 According to the commandment of 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 (YAHUAH), they gave him the city which he asked, even Tham'nath Sarakh in the mountain of Apara’ym; and he built the city, and dwelled there.

51 These are the inheritances, which AL'azar the ka’ahn (priest), Yahusha son of Nun, and the heads of the fathers' houses of the tribes of the children of Yashar'AL, distributed for inheritance by lot in Shalah before 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 (YAHUAH), at the door of the Tent of Meeting. So they made an end of dividing the land.

CHAPTER 20

1 And 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 (YAHUAH) spoke to Yahusha, saying:

2 "Speak to the children of Yashar'AL, saying, 'Assign the cities of refuge, of which I spoke to you by Mashah,

3 that the manslayer who kills any person accidentally or unintentionally may flee there. They shall be to you for a refuge from the avenger of blood.

4 And he shall flee to one of those cities, and shall stand at the entrance of the gate of the city, and declare his cause in the ears of the elders of that city. They shall take him into the city with them, and give him a place, that he may dwell among them.

5 And if the avenger of blood pursue after him, then they shall not bring up the manslayer into his hand; because he struck his neighbor unintentionally, and didn't hate him before.

6 And he shall dwell in that city until he stands before the congregation for judgment, until the death of the high ka’ahn (priest) that shall be in those days. Then the manslayer shall return, and come to his own city, and to his own house, to the city he fled from.'"

7 And they made apart Qadash in Gal'yal in the mountain of Nap'thal'ya, Shakam in the mountain of Apara’ym, and Qara’yath Arba, that is Kha'brun, in the mountain of Yahudah.

8 Beyond the Yardan at Yara'yakhu eastward, they assigned Batsar in the wilderness in the plain out of the tribe of Rauban, Ram'tha in Gal'ad out of the tribe of Gad, and Gulan in Bashan out of the tribe of Mana'shah.

9 These were the appointed cities for all the children of Yashar'AL, and for the stranger who sojourns among them, that whoever slays any person unintentionally might flee there, and not die by the hand of the avenger of blood, until he stands before the congregation.

CHAPTER 21

1 Then the heads of fathers' houses of the Lu'ym came near to AL'azar the ka’ahn (priest), and to Yahusha son of Nun, and to the heads of fathers' houses of the tribes of the children of Yashar'AL.

2 And they spoke to them at Shalah in the land of Kanan, saying, "𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 (YAHUAH) commanded Mashah to give us cities to dwell in, with their open land for our livestock."

3 And the children of Yashar'AL gave to the Lu'ym out of their inheritance, according to the commandment of 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 (YAHUAH), these cities with their open land.

4 And the lot came out for the families of the Qa’ah’th’ya. The children of A'haran the ka’ahn (priest), who were of the Lu'ym, had thirteen cities by lot out of the tribe of Yahudah, out of the tribe of the Shaman’ya, and out of the tribe of Ban'yaman.

5 And the rest of the children of Qa'ah’th had ten cities by lot out of the families of the tribe of Apara’ym, out of the tribe of Dan, and out of the half-tribe of Mana'shah.

6 And the children of Gar'shun (Gar'shoon) had thirteen cities by lot out of the families of the tribe of Ya'shasha'kar, out of the tribe of Ashar, out of the tribe of Nap'thal'ya, and out of the half-tribe of Mana'shah in Bashan.

7 And the children of Marara'ya according to their families had twelve cities out of the tribe of Rauban, out of the tribe of Gad, and out of the tribe of Zabulan.

8 And the children of Yashar'AL gave these cities with their open land by lot to the Lu'ym, as 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 (YAHUAH) commanded by Mashah.

9 And they gave out of the tribe of the children of Yahudah, and out of the tribe of the children of Shama'un, these cities which are mentioned by name:

10 and they were for the children of A'haran, of the families of the Qa'ah’th’ya, who were of the children of Lu'ya; for theirs was the first lot.

11 And they gave them Qara’yath Arba, named after the father of Anak, that is Kha'brun, in the mountain of Yahudah, with its open land around it.

12 But they gave the fields of the city and its villages to Kalab son of Yapanah for his possession.

13 But to the children of A'haran the ka’ahn (priest) they gave Kha'brun with its open land, the city of refuge for the manslayer, Labanah with its open land,

14 And Yathar with its open land, and Ash’thama with its open land,

15 And Khalan with its open land, and Daba'yar with its open land,

16 And Ayan with its open land, Yatah with its open land, and Bayath Shamash with its open land; nine cities out of those two tribes.

17 And from the tribe of Ban'yaman, Gaba'un with its open land, Gaba with its open land,

18 Ana’thuth with its open land, and Al’mun (Uhl’moon) with its open land; four cities.

19 All the cities of the children of A'haran, the ka’ahn’ym (priests), were thirteen cities with their open land.

20 And the families of the children of Qa'ah’th, the Lu'ym, even the rest of the children of Qa'ah’th, had the cities of their lot out of the tribe of Apara’ym.

21 And they gave them Shakam with its open land in the mountain of Apara’ym, the city of refuge for the manslayer, and Gazar with its open land,

22 Qabats’ym with its open land, and Bayath Khu'ran with its open land; four cities.

23 And from the tribe of Dan, AL’thaqa with its open land, Gaba’thun (Gaba’thoon) with its open land,

24 Ayalun with its open land, Gath Ramun with its open land; four cities.

25 And from the half-tribe of Mana'shah, Thanak with its open land, and Gath Ramun with its open land; two cities.

26 All the cities of the families of the rest of the children of Qa'ah’th were ten with their open land.

27 And they gave to the children of Gar'shun (Gar'shoon), of the families of the Lu'ym, from the half tribe of Mana'shah Gulan in Bashan with its open land, the city of refuge for the manslayer, and Ba’sha’tharah with its open land; two cities.

28 And from the tribe of Ya'shasha'kar, Qash’yun (Qash’yoon) with its open land, Dabar’tha with its open land,

29 Yara'muth with its open land, and Ayan Gan’ym with its open land; four cities.

30 And from the tribe of Ashar, Mash’AL with its open land, and Abad’un (Abad’oon) with its open land,

31 Khal’qath with its open land, and Rakhab with its open land; four cities.

32 And from the tribe of Nap'thal'ya, Qadash in Gal'yal with its open land, the city of refuge for the manslayer, Khamath Dar with its open land, and Qar’than with its open land; three cities.

33 All the cities of the Gar'shan’ya according to their families were thirteen cities with their open land.

34 And to the families of the children of Marara'ya, the rest of the Lu'ym, out of the tribe of Zabulan, Yaqanam with its open land, Qar’thah with its open land,

35 Damanah with its open land, and Na’halal with its open land; four cities.

36 And from the tribe of Rauban, Batsar with its open land, Yah'tsah with its open land,

37 Qadam’uth (Qadam’ooth) with its open land, and Maya’path with its open land; four cities.

38 And from of Gad, Ram'tha in Gal'ad with its open land, the city of refuge for the manslayer, and Makhan'ym with its open land,

39 Khash'bun with its open land, Ya'zar (Yuh'zar) with its open land; four cities in all.

40 All these were the cities of the children of Marara'ya according to their families, even the rest of the families of the Lu'ym. Their lot was twelve cities.

41 All the cities of the Lu'ym in the midst of the possession of the children of Yashar'AL were forty-eight cities with their open land.

42 Each of these cities included their open land around them. So it was this way with all these cities.

43 So 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 (YAHUAH) gave to Yashar'AL all the land which he swore to give to their fathers. They possessed it, and dwelled in it.

44 And 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 (YAHUAH) gave them rest all around, according to all that he swore to their fathers. Not a man of all their enemies stood before them, 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 (YAHUAH) gave all their enemies into their hand.

45 Nothing failed of any of the good matter that 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 (YAHUAH) had spoken to the house of Yashar'AL. All came to pass.

CHAPTER 22

1 Then Yahusha called to the Rauban'ya, to the Gad'ya, and to the half-tribe of Mana'shah,

2 and said to them, "You have kept all that Mashah the servant of 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 (YAHUAH) commanded you, and have listened to my voice in all that I commanded you.

3 You have not left your brothers these many days to this day, but have performed the duty of the commandment of 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 (YAHUAH) Your ALUAH.

4 Now 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 (YAHUAH) Your ALUAH has given rest to your brothers, as He spoke to them. Therefore now return and go to your tents, to the land of your possession, which Mashah the servant of 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 (YAHUAH) gave you beyond the Yardan.

5 Only take diligent heed to do the commandment and the Thurah which Mashah the servant of 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 (YAHUAH) commanded you, to love 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 (YAHUAH) Your ALUAH, to walk in all His Ways, to keep His commandments, to hold fast to Him, and to serve Him with all your heart and with all your being.”

6 So Yahusha Barak them, and sent them away; and they went to their tents.

7 Now to the one half-tribe of Mana'shah Mashah had given inheritance in Bashan; but to the other half gave Yahusha among their brothers beyond the Yardan westward. Moreover when Yahusha sent them away to their tents, he Barak them,

8 and spoke to them, saying, "Return with much wealth to your tents, with very much livestock, with silver, with gold, with bronze, with iron, and with very much clothing. Divide the spoil of your enemies with your brothers."

9 And the children of Rauban and the children of Gad and the half-tribe of Mana'shah returned, and departed from the children of Yashar'AL out of Shalah, which is in the land of Kanan, to go to the land of Gal'ad, to the land of their possession, which they owned, according to the commandment of 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 (YAHUAH) by Mashah.

10 And when they came to the region about the Yardan, that is in the land of Kanan, the children of Rauban and the children of Gad and the half-tribe of Mana'shah built there an altar by the Yardan, a great conspicuous altar.

11 And the children of Yashar'AL heard this, "Behold, the children of Rauban and the children of Gad and the half-tribe of Mana'shah have built an altar in the forefront of the land of Kanan, in the region about the Yardan, on the side that pertains to the children of Yashar'AL."

12 When the children of Yashar'AL heard of it, the whole congregation of the children of Yashar'AL gathered themselves together at Shalah, to go up against them to war.

13 And the children of Yashar'AL sent to the children of Rauban, and to the children of Gad, and to the half-tribe of Mana'shah, into the land of Gal'ad, Payana'khas son of AL'azar the ka’ahn (priest),

14 and with him ten princes, one prince of a fathers' house for each of the tribes of Yashar'AL, and they were everyone of them head of their fathers' houses among the thousands of Yashar'AL.

15 And they came to the children of Rauban, and to the children of Gad, and to the half-tribe of Mana'shah, to the land of Gal'ad, and they spoke with them, saying,

16 "Thus says the whole congregation of 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 (YAHUAH), 'What trespass is this that you have committed against the ALUAH of Yashar'AL, to turn away this day from following 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 (YAHUAH), in that you have built you an altar, to rebel this day against 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 (YAHUAH)?

17 Is the iniquity of Pa'ur too little for us, from which we have not cleansed ourselves to this day, although there came a plague in the congregation of 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 (YAHUAH),

18 that you must turn away this day from following 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 (YAHUAH)? It will be, since you rebel today against 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 (YAHUAH), that tomorrow He will be angry with the whole congregation of Yashar'AL.

19 However, if the land of your possession is unclean, then pass over to the land of the possession of 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 (YAHUAH), in which the Tabernacle OF 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 (YAHUAH) Abides, and take possession among us; but do not rebel against 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 (YAHUAH), nor rebel against us, in building an altar other than the altar of 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 (YAHUAH) Our ALUAH.

20 Did not Akan son of Zarakh commit a trespass in that which was under the ban, and wrath fell on all the congregation of Yashar'AL? That man did not perish alone in his iniquity.'"

21 Then the children of Rauban and the children of Gad and the half-tribe of Mana'shah answered, and spoke to the heads of the thousands of Yashar'AL,

22 “AL (The Mighty One), ALUAH, 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 (YAHUAH), AL (The Mighty One), ALUAH, 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 (YAHUAH), He knows; and Yashar'AL shall know: if it was in rebellion, or if in trespass against 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 (YAHUAH), do not save us this day,

23 that we have built us an altar to turn away from following 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 (YAHUAH); or if to offer burnt offering or meal offering, or if to make shalam (peace) offerings, let 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 (YAHUAH) Himself require it.

24 "If we have not out of concern done this, and for a reason, saying, 'In time to come your children might speak to our children, saying, "What have you to do with 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 (YAHUAH), The ALUAH OF Yashar'AL?

25 For 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 (YAHUAH) has made the Yardan a border between us and you, you children of Rauban and children of Gad. You have no portion in 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 (YAHUAH)."' So your children might make our children cease from fearing 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 (YAHUAH).

26 "Therefore we said, 'Let's now prepare to build ourselves an altar, not for burnt offering, nor for slaughtering,

27 but it will be a witness between us and you, and between our generations after us, that we may perform the service of 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 (YAHUAH) before him with our burnt offerings, with our slaughterings, and with our shalam (peace) offerings;' that your children may not tell our children in time to come, 'You have no portion in 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 (YAHUAH).'

28 "Therefore we said, 'It shall be, when they tell us or our generations this in time to come, that we shall say, "Behold the pattern of the altar of 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 (YAHUAH), which our fathers made, not for burnt offering, nor for slaughterings, but it is a witness between us and you."'

29 "Far be it from us that we should rebel against 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 (YAHUAH), and turn away this day from following 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 (YAHUAH), to build an altar for burnt offering, for meal offering, or for slaughterings, besides the altar of 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 (YAHUAH) our ALUAH that is before His Tabernacle!"

30 And when Payana'khas the ka’ahn (priest), and the princes of the congregation, even the heads of the thousands of Yashar'AL that were with him, heard the words that the children of Rauban and the children of Gad and the children of Mana'shah spoke, it pleased them well.

31 And Payana'khas son of AL'azar the ka’ahn (priest) said to the children of Rauban, to the children of Gad, and to the children of Mana'shah, "Today we know that 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 (YAHUAH) is in the midst of us, because you have not committed this trespass against 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 (YAHUAH). Now you have rescued the children of Yashar'AL out of the hand of 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 (YAHUAH)."

32 And Payana'khas son of AL'azar the ka’ahn (priest), and the princes, returned from the children of Rauban, and from the children of Gad, out of the land of Gal'ad, to the land of Kanan, to the children of Yashar'AL, and brought them word again.

33 So the matter pleased the children of Yashar'AL, and the children of Yashar'AL Barak ALUAH, and spoke no more of going up against them to war, to destroy the land in which the children of Rauban and the children of Gad lived.

34 And he children of Rauban and the children of Gad named the altar "A Witness Between Us That 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 (YAHUAH) IS ALUAH."

CHAPTER 23

1 And it came to be after many days, when 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 (YAHUAH) had given rest to Yashar'AL from their enemies all around, and Yahusha was old and well advanced in years,

2 that Yahusha called for all Yashar'AL, for their elders and for their heads, and for their judges and for their officers, and said to them, "I am old and well advanced in years.

3 You have seen all that 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 (YAHUAH) Your ALUAH has done to all these nations because of you, for it is 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 (YAHUAH) Your ALUAH who has fought for you.

4 Behold, I have allotted to you these nations that remain, to be an inheritance for your tribes, from the Yardan, with all the nations that I have cut off, even to the great sea toward the going down of the sun.

5 And 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 (YAHUAH) Your ALUAH will thrust them out from before you, and drive them from out of your sight. You shall possess their land, as 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 (YAHUAH) Your ALUAH spoke to you.

6 "Therefore be very courageous to keep and to do all that is written in the book of the Thur’ath of Mashah, that you not turn aside from it to the right hand or to the left,

7 that you not come among these nations, these that remain among you; neither make mention of the name of their idols, nor cause to swear by them, neither serve them, nor bow down yourselves to them,

8 but hold fast to 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 (YAHUAH) Your ALUAH, as you have done to this day.

9 "For 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 (YAHUAH) has driven great and strong nations out from before you. But as for you, no man has stood before you to this day.

10 One man of you shall chase a thousand; for it is 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 (YAHUAH) Your ALUAH who fights for you, as He spoke to you.

11 Take good heed therefore to yourselves, that you love 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 (YAHUAH) Your ALUAH.

12 "But if you do at all go back, and hold fast to the remnant of these nations, even these who remain among you, and make marriages with them, and go in to them, and they to you,

13 know for a certainty that 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 (YAHUAH) Your ALUAH will no longer drive these nations from out of your sight, but they shall be a snare and a trap to you, a scourge in your sides, and thorns in your eyes, until you perish from off this good land which 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 (YAHUAH) Your ALUAH has given you.

14 "Behold, today I am going the way of all the earth. You know in all your hearts and in all your beings that not one thing has failed of all the good which 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 (YAHUAH) Your ALUAH spoke concerning you. All have happened to you, and not one thing has failed of it.

15 And it shall happen that as all the good word have come on you of which 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 (YAHUAH) Your ALUAH spoke to you, so 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 (YAHUAH) will bring on you all the evil word, until He has destroyed you from off this good land which 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 (YAHUAH) Your ALUAH has given you,

16 when you transgress the Bar’yath (covenant) of 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 (YAHUAH) Your ALUAH, which he commanded you, and go and serve other idols, and bow down yourselves to them. Then the anger of 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 (YAHUAH) will be kindled against you, and you will perish quickly from off the good land which He has given to you."

CHAPTER 24

1 And Yahusha gathered all the tribes of Yashar'AL to Shakam, and called for the elders of Yashar'AL, for their heads, for their judges, and for their officers, and they showed themselves before ALUAH.

2 And Yahusha said to all the people, "Thus says 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 (YAHUAH), The ALUAH OF Yashar'AL, 'Your fathers abided of old time beyond the River, even Tharakh, the father of Abara'ahm, and the father of Nakhur: and they served other idols.

3 So I took your father Abara'ahm from beyond the River, and led him throughout all the land of Kanan, and multiplied his seed, and gave him Ya'tsa'khaq.

4 And I gave to Ya'tsa'khaq Ya'aqab and Ashu (Uh’shoo): and I gave to Ashu Mount Sha'yar, to possess it. But Ya'aqab and his children went down into Ma’tsara’ym.

5 "'Then I sent Mashah and A'haran, and I plagued Ma’tsara’ym, according to that which I did in its midst: and afterward I brought you out.

6 And I brought your fathers out of Ma’tsara’ym: and you came to the sea. And the Ma’tsara’ym pursued after your fathers with chariots and with horsemen to the sea of reeds.

7 When they cried out to 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 (YAHUAH), He put darkness between you and the Ma’tsara’ym, and brought the sea on them, and covered them; and your eyes saw what I did in Ma’tsara’ym: and you abided in the wilderness many days.

8 “And I brought you into the land of the Amar'ya, that dwelled beyond the Yardan: and they fought with you; and I gave them into your hand. You possessed their land, and I destroyed them from before you.

9 Then Balaq son of Tsa’pur, king of Mu'ab, arose and fought against Yashar'AL. He sent and called to Balam son of Ba’ur to curse you;

10 but I would not listen to Balam; therefore he Barak you still. So I rescued you out of his hand.

11 “And you passed over the Yardan, and came to Yara'yakhu. The men of Yara'yakhu fought against you, the Amar'ya, the Paraz'ya, the Kanan'ya, the Khath'ya, the Gar'gash'ya, the Khu'ya, and the Yabus'ya; and I gave them into your hand.

12 And I sent the hornet before you, which drove them out from before you, even the two kings of the Amar'ya: not with your sword, nor with your bow.

13 And I gave you a land whereon you had not labored, and cities which you did not build, and you abide in them. You eat of vineyards and olive groves which you did not plant.'

14 "Now therefore fear 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 (YAHUAH), and serve Him in wholeness and in truth. Put away the idols which your fathers served beyond the River in Ma’tsara’ym; and serve 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 (YAHUAH).

15 And if it seems evil to you to serve 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 (YAHUAH), choose this day whom you will serve; whether the idols which your fathers served that were beyond the River, or the idols of the Amar'ya, in whose land you dwell: but as for me and my house, we will serve 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 (YAHUAH)."

16 And the people answered, "Far be it from us that we should forsake 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 (YAHUAH) to serve other idols,

17 for it is 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 (YAHUAH) Our ALUAH who brought us and our fathers up out of the land of Ma’tsara’ym, from the house of bondage, and who did those great signs in our sight, and preserved us in all the way in which we went, and among all the peoples through the midst of whom we passed.

18 And 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 (YAHUAH) drove out from before us all the peoples, even the Amar'ya who dwelled in the land. Therefore we also will serve 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 (YAHUAH), for He Is Our ALUAH."

19 And Yahusha said to the people, "You are not able to serve 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 (YAHUAH), for He is a made apart AL. He is a jealous AL. He does not bear with your iniquities and with your transgressions.

20 If you forsake 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 (YAHUAH), and serve foreign idols, then He will turn back and do you evil, and consume you, after He has done you good."

21 And the people said to Yahusha, "No, but we will serve 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 (YAHUAH)."

22 And Yahusha said to the people, "You are witnesses against yourselves that you have chosen 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 (YAHUAH) yourselves, to serve Him." They said, "We are witnesses."

23 "Now therefore put away the foreign idols which are among you, and incline your heart to 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 (YAHUAH), The ALUAH OF Yashar'AL."

24 And the people said to Yahusha, "We will serve 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 (YAHUAH) Our ALUAH, and we will listen to His voice."

25 So Yahusha made a Bar’yath (covenant) with the people that day, and made for them a statute and an ordinance in Shakam.

26 And Yahusha wrote these words in the book of the Thur’ath of ALUAH; and he took a great stone, and placed it up there under the oak that was by the Made Apart Place of 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 (YAHUAH).

27 And Yahusha said to all the people, "Behold, this stone shall be a witness against us; for it has heard all the words of 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 (YAHUAH) which He spoke to us. And it shall be therefore a witness against you, lest you deny your ALUAH."

28 So Yahusha sent the people away, every man to his inheritance.

29 And it came to be after these, that Yahusha son of Nun, the servant of 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 (YAHUAH), died, being one hundred and ten years old.

30 And they buried him in the border of his inheritance in Tham'nath Sarakh, which is in the mountain of Apara’ym, on the north to the mountain of Gaash.

31 And Yashar'AL served 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 (YAHUAH) all the days of Yahusha, and all the days of the elders who out-dwelled Yahusha, and had known all the work of 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 (YAHUAH), that He had worked for Yashar'AL.

32 And they buried the bones of Yahu'sap, which the children of Yashar'AL brought up out of Ma’tsara’ym, in Shakam, in the parcel of ground which Ya'aqab bought of the sons of Khamur the father of Shakam for a hundred pieces of silver, and that became the inheritance of the children of Yahu'sap.

33 And AL'azar son of A'haran died, and they buried him in the hill of Payana'khas his son, which was given him in the mountain of Apara’ym.
