SHAM'UTH = NAMES

EXODUS

CHAPTER 1

1 Now these are the names of the sons of Yashar'AL, who came into Ma'tsara'ym, every man and his household came with Ya'aqab:

2 Rauban, Shama'un (Shama'oon), Lu'ya (Loo'ya), and Yahudah,

3 Ya'shasha'kar, Zabulan, and Ban’yaman,

4 Dan and Nap’thal’ya, Gad and Ashar.

5 And all the beings who came out of Ya'aqab's body were seventy beings, and Yahu'sap was in Ma'tsara'ym already.

6 And Yahu'sap died, as did all his brothers, and all that generation.

7 And the children of Yashar'AL were fruitful, and increased abundantly, and multiplied, and grew exceedingly mighty, and the land was filled with them.

8 Now there arose a new king over Ma'tsara'ym, who did not know Yahu'sap.

9 And he said to his people: "Behold, the people of the children of Yashar'AL are more and mightier than we.

10 Come, let us deal discernibly with them, lest they multiply, and it happen that when any war breaks out, they also join themselves to our enemies, and fight against us, and escape out of the land."

11 Therefore they put taskmasters over them to afflict them with their burdens. And they built storage cities for Para'ah: Patham and Ra’ama’sas.

12 But the more they afflicted them, the more they multiplied and the more they spread out. And they were dreaded because of the children of Yashar'AL.

13 And the Ma'tsara'ym ruthlessly made the children of Yashar'AL serve,

14 and they made their khaYah (lives) bitter with hard service, in mortar and in brick, and in all kinds of service in the field, all their service, in which they ruthlessly made them serve.

15 And the king of Ma'tsara'ym spoke to the Abara’yath midwives, of whom the name of the one was Shaparah, and the name of the other Pua’ah,

16 and he said, "When you perform the duty of a midwife to the Abara’yuth (Abara’yooth) women, and see them on the birth stool, if it is a son, then you shall kill him, but if it is a daughter, then she shall abide."

17 But the midwives feared ALUAH, and did not do what the king of Ma'tsara'ym commanded them, but saved the baby boy's abiding.

18 And the king of Ma'tsara'ym called for the midwives and said to them: "Why have you done this matter, and have saved the boy's abiding?”

19 And the midwives said to Para'ah: "Because the Abara’yath women are not like the Ma'tsara'yath women, for they are khaYah (lively), and give birth before the midwife comes to them."

20 And ALUAH dealt well with the midwives, and the people multiplied, and grew very mighty.

21 And it came to be, because the midwives feared ALUAH, that He gave to them households.

22 And Para'ah commanded all his people saying: "You shall cast every son who is born into the river, and every daughter you shall save living.”

CHAPTER 2

1 And a man of the house of Lu'ya (Loo'ya) went and took a daughter of Lu'ya (Loo'ya) as his wife.

2 And the woman conceived, and bore a son. When she saw that he was good, she hid him three moons.

3 And when she could no longer hide him, she took a papyrus basket for him, and coated it with tar and with pitch. And she put the child in it, and laid it in the reeds by the river's bank.

4 And his sister stood far off, to see what would be done to him.

5 And daughter of Para'ah came down to bathe at the river. And her maidens walked along by the riverside. And she saw the basket among the reeds, and sent her handmaid to get it.

6 And she opened it and saw the child, and behold, the baby cried. And she had compassion on him and said: "This is one of the Abara’ym children."

7 Then his sister said to Para'ah's daughter: "Should I go and call a nurse for you from the Abara’yath women, that she may nurse the child for you?"

8 And daughter of Para'ah said to her: "Go." And the maiden went and called the child's mother.

9 And daughter of Para'ah said to her: β€œTake this child away and nurse him for me, and I will give you your wages." And the woman took the child and nursed it.

10 And the child grew, and she brought him to daughter of Para'ah, and he became her son. And she called his name Mashah and said: "Because I drew him out of the water."

11 And it came to be in those days, when Mashah had grown up, that he went out to his brothers, and looked at their burdens. And he saw a Ma'tsara'ya striking an Abara’ya, one of his brothers.

12 And he looked this way and that way, and when he saw that there was no one, he killed the Ma'tsara'ya and hid him in the sand.

13 And he went out the second day and behold, two men of the Abara’ym were fighting with each other. And he said to him who did the wrong: "Why do you strike your fellow?"

14 And he said: "Who made you a prince and a judge over us? Do you plan to kill me, as you killed the Ma'tsara'ya?” And Mashah was afraid and said: "Surely this matter is known."

15 Now when Para'ah heard this matter, he sought to kill Mashah. But Mashah fled from the face of Para'ah and abided in the land of Mada'yan, and he sat down by a well.

16 Now the ka’ahn (priest) of Mada'yan had seven daughters. And they came and drew water, and filled the troughs to water their father's flock.

17 And the shepherds came and drove them away, but Mashah stood up and helped them, and watered their flock.

18 When they came to Ra’u’AL their father, he said: "How is it that you have returned so early today?"

19 And they said, "A Ma'tsara'ya rescued us out of the hand of the shepherds, and moreover he drew water for us, and watered the flock."

20 And he said to his daughters: β€œWhere is he? Why is it that you have left the man? Call him, that he may eat bread."

21 And Mashah was content toabide with the man. And he gave to Mashah, Tsa'parah, his daughter.

22 And she bore a son, and he named him Gar'sham, for he said: "I have abided as a foreigner in a foreign land."

23 And it came to be in the course of those many days, that the king of Ma'tsara'ym died, and the children of Yashar'AL sighed because of the bondage, and they cried, and their cry came up to ALUAH because of the bondage.

24 And ALUAH heard their groaning, and ALUAH remembered his Bar'yath (covenant) with Abara'ahm, with Ya'tsakhaq, and with Ya'aqab.

25 And ALUAH saw the children of Yashar'AL, and ALUAH was concerned about them.

CHAPTER 3

1 Now Mashah was keeping the flock of Yathar'u (Yathar'oo), his father-in-law, the ka’ahn (priest) of Mada'yan, and he led the flock to the back of the wilderness, and came to ALUAH's mountain, to Kharab’ah.

2 And the messenger of 𐀉𐀄𐀅𐀄 (YAHUAH) appeared to him in a flame of fire out of the midst of a bush. And he looked and behold, the bush burned with fire, and the bush was not consumed.

3 And Mashah said: "I will turn aside now, and see this great sight, why the bush is not burnt."

4 When 𐀉𐀄𐀅𐀄 (YAHUAH) saw that he turned aside to see, ALUAH called to him out of the midst of the bush and said: "Mashah! Mashah!" And he said: "Here I am."

5 And He said, "Do not come near. Take your sandals off of your feet, for the place you are standing on is made apart ground."

6 Moreover He said, "I Am the ALUAH of your father, The ALUAH of Abara'ahm, The ALUAH of Ya'tsakhaq, and The ALUAH of Ya'aqab." And Mashah hid his face, for he was afraid to look at ALUAH.

7 And 𐀉𐀄𐀅𐀄 (YAHUAH) said, "I have surely seen the affliction of My people who are in Ma'tsara'ym, and I have heard their cry because of their taskmasters, for I know their sorrows.

8 And I have come down to rescue them out of the hand of the Ma'tsara'ym, and to bring them up out of that land to a good and large land, to a land flowing with milk and honey, to the place of the Kanan'ya, and the Khath'ya, and the Amar'ya, and the Paraz'ya, and the Khu'ya, and the Yabus'ya.

9 Now behold, the cry of the children of Yashar'AL has come to me, and I have seen the oppression with which the Ma'tsara'ym oppress them.

10 Come now therefore, and I will send you to Para'ah, that you may bring forth My people, the children of Yashar'AL, out of Ma'tsara'ym."

11 And Mashah said to ALUAH: "Who am I, that I should go to Para'ah, and that I should bring forth the children of Yashar'AL out of Ma'tsara'ym?"

12 And He said, "Certainly I will be with you. And this will be the Sign to you, that I have sent you: when you have brought forth the people out of Ma'tsara'ym, you shall serve ALUAH on this mountain."

13 And Mashah said to ALUAH: "Behold, when I come to the children of Yashar'AL, and tell them, 'The ALUAH of your fathers has sent me to you,' and they ask me: 'What is his name?' What should I tell them?"

14 And ALUAH said to Mashah, "I AM WHO I AM," and He said, "You shall tell the children of Yashar'AL this: 'I AM has sent me to you.'"

15 And ALUAH said to Mashah: "You shall tell the children of Yashar'AL this, '𐀉𐀄𐀅𐀄 (YAHUAH), The ALUAH of your fathers, The ALUAH of Abara'ahm, The ALUAH of Ya'tsakhaq, and The ALUAH of Ya'aqab, has sent me to you.' THIS IS MY NAME forever, and this is My Remembrance to all generations.

16 Walk and gather the elders of Yashar'AL together and tell them: '𐀉𐀄𐀅𐀄 (YAHUAH), The ALUAH of your fathers, The ALUAH of Abara'ahm, of Ya'tsakhaq, and of Ya'aqab, has appeared to me saying: "I have surely visited you, and seen that what is done to you in Ma'tsara'ym,

17 and I have said: I will bring you up out of the affliction of Ma'tsara'ym to the land of the Kanan'ya, the Khath'ya, the Amar'ya, the Paraz'ya, the Khu'ya, and the Yabus'ya, to a land flowing with milk and honey."'

18 And they will listen to your voice, and you shall come, you and the elders of Yashar'AL, to the king of Ma'tsara'ym, and you shall tell him: '𐀉𐀄𐀅𐀄 (YAHUAH), The ALUAH of the Abara’ya’ym, has met with us. Now please let us go three days' journey into the wilderness, that we may slaughter to 𐀉𐀄𐀅𐀄 (YAHUAH), our ALUAH.'

19 But I know that the king of Ma'tsara'ym will not give you permission to go, not even by a mighty hand.

20 And I will put forth my hand and strike Ma'tsara'ym with all My wonders that I will do in its midst, and after that he will let you go.

21 And I will give this people favor in the sight of the Ma'tsara'ym, and it will be that when you go, you shall not go empty handed.

22 But every woman shall ask of her neighbor, and of her who visits her house, jewels of silver, jewels of gold, and clothing, and you shall put them on your sons, and on your daughters. And you shall plunder the Ma'tsara'ym."

CHAPTER 4

1 And Mashah answered: "But behold, they will not trust me, nor listen to my voice, for they will say: '𐀉𐀄𐀅𐀄 (YAHUAH) has not appeared to you.'"

2 And 𐀉𐀄𐀅𐀄 (YAHUAH) said to him, "What is that in your hand?" And he said, "A rod."

3 And He said, "Throw it on the ground." And he threw it on the ground, and it became a snake, and Mashah ran away from it.

4 And 𐀉𐀄𐀅𐀄 (YAHUAH) said to Mashah, "Put forth your hand, and take it by the tail." And he put forth his hand, and laid hold of it, and it became a rod in his hand.

5 "That they to trust that 𐀉𐀄𐀅𐀄 (YAHUAH), The ALUAH of their fathers, The ALUAH of Abara'ahm, The ALUAH of Ya'tsakhaq, and The ALUAH of Ya'aqab, has appeared to you."

6 And 𐀉𐀄𐀅𐀄 (YAHUAH) said furthermore to him, "Now put your hand inside your cloak." And he put his hand inside his cloak, and when he took it out, behold, his hand was leprous, as white as snow.

7 And He said, "Put your hand inside your cloak again." And he put his hand inside his cloak again, and when he took it out of his cloak, behold, it had turned again as his other flesh.

8 "And it will be, if they will neither trust you nor listen to the voice of the first sign, that they will trust the voice of the latter sign.

9 And it will be, if they will not trust even these two signs, neither listen to your voice, that you shall take of the water of the river, and pour it on the dry land. And the water that you take out of the river will become blood on the dry land."

10 And Mashah said to 𐀉𐀄𐀅𐀄 (YAHUAH), "O Sovereign, I am not eloquent, neither before now, nor since You have spoken to Your servant, for I am slow of speech, and of a slow tongue."

11 And 𐀉𐀄𐀅𐀄 (YAHUAH) said to him, "Who made man's mouth? Or who makes one mute, or deaf, or seeing, or blind? Is it not I, 𐀉𐀄𐀅𐀄 (YAHUAH)?

12 Now therefore go, and I will be with your mouth, and teach you what you shall speak."

13 And he said, "Oh Sovereign, please send someone else."

14 And the anger of 𐀉𐀄𐀅𐀄 (YAHUAH) was kindled against Mashah, and He said: "What about A'haran, your brother, the Lu'ya (Loo'ya)? I know that he can speak well. Also behold, he comes forth to meet you. When he sees you, he will be glad in his heart.

15 And you shall speak to him, and put the words in his mouth. And I will be with your mouth, and with his mouth, and will teach you what you shall do.

16 And he will be your spokesman to the people, and it will be, that he will be to you a mouth, and you will be to him for ALUAH.

17 And you shall take this rod in your hand, with that you shall do the signs."

18 And Mashah went and returned to Yathar'u (Yathar'oo) his father-in-law and said to him, "Please let me go and return to my brothers who are in Ma'tsara'ym, and see whether they are still khaYah (abiding).” And Yathar'u (Yathar'oo) said to Mashah, "Go for shalum (peace).”

19 And 𐀉𐀄𐀅𐀄 (YAHUAH) said to Mashah in Mada'yan, "Go, return into Ma'tsara'ym, for all the men who sought your being are dead."

20 And Mashah took his wife and his sons, and put them on a donkey, and he returned to the land of Ma'tsara'ym. And Mashah took ALUAH's rod in his hand.

21 And 𐀉𐀄𐀅𐀄 (YAHUAH) said to Mashah, "When you go back into Ma'tsara'ym, see that you do before Para'ah all the wonders which I have put in your hand, but I will harden his heart and he will not let the people go.

22 And you shall tell Para'ah, 'Thus says 𐀉𐀄𐀅𐀄 (YAHUAH), Yashar'AL is My son, My firstborn,

23 and I have said to you, "Let my son go, that he may serve Me," and you have refused to let him go. Behold, I will kill your son, your firstborn.'"

24 And it came to be on the way at a lodging place, that 𐀉𐀄𐀅𐀄 (YAHUAH) met Mashah and wanted to kill him.

25 Then Tsa'parah took a flint, and cut off the foreskin of her son, and cast it at his feet, and she said, "Surely you are a bridegroom of blood to me."

26 So He let him alone. Then she said, "You are a bridegroom of blood," because of the circumcision.

27 And 𐀉𐀄𐀅𐀄 (YAHUAH) said to A'haran, "Go into the wilderness to meet Mashah." And he went, and met him on ALUAH's mountain, and kissed him.

28 And Mashah told to A'haran all the Words of 𐀉𐀄𐀅𐀄 (YAHUAH) with that He had sent him, and all the signs with that He had instructed him.

29 And Mashah and A'haran went and gathered together all the elders of the children of Yashar'AL.

30 And A'haran spoke all the words that 𐀉𐀄𐀅𐀄 (YAHUAH) had spoken to Mashah, and did the signs in the sight of the people.

31 And the people trusted, and when they heard that 𐀉𐀄𐀅𐀄 (YAHUAH) had visited the children of Yashar'AL, and that He had seen their affliction, then they bowed their heads and worshiped.

CHAPTER 5

1 Afterward Mashah and A'haran came, and said to Para'ah, "This is what 𐀉𐀄𐀅𐀄 (YAHUAH), The ALUAH of Yashar'AL says: β€˜Let my people go, that they hold a feast to Me in the wilderness.'"

2 And Para'ah said, "Who is 𐀉𐀄𐀅𐀄 (YAHUAH), that I should listen to His voice to let Yashar'AL go? I do not know 𐀉𐀄𐀅𐀄 (YAHUAH), and moreover I will not let Yashar'AL go."

3 And they said, "The ALUAH of the Abara’ym has met with us. Please let us go three days' journey into the wilderness and slaughter to 𐀉𐀄𐀅𐀄 (YAHUAH) Our ALUAH, lest He fall on us with pestilence, or with the sword."

4 And the king of Ma'tsara'ym said to them, "Why do you, Mashah and A'haran, take the people from their work? Get back to your burdens!"

5 And Para'ah said, "Behold, the people of the land are now many, and you make them rest from their burdens."

6 And the same day Para'ah commanded the taskmasters of the people, and their officers saying:

7 "You shall no longer give the people straw to make brick, as before. Let them go and gather straw for themselves.

8 And the number of the bricks, which they made before, you require from them. You shall not diminish anything of it, for they are idle, therefore they cry saying: 'Let us go and slaughter to our ALUAH.'

9 Let heavier work be laid on the men, that they may labor therein, and do not let them pay any attention to words of falsehood.”

10 And the taskmasters of the people went out, and their officers, and they spoke to the people saying, "This is what Para'ah says: 'I will not give you straw.

11 Go yourselves, get straw where you can find it, for nothing of your work shall be diminished.'"

12 So the people were scattered abroad throughout all the land of Ma'tsara'ym to gather stubble for straw.

13 And the taskmasters were urgent saying: "Fulfill your matter of works by day, as when there was straw!"

14 And the officers of the children of Yashar'AL, whom Para'ah's taskmasters had placed over them, were beaten and demanded: β€œWhy have you not fulfilled your decree both yesterday and today, in making brick as before?"

15 Then the officers of the children of Yashar'AL came and cried to Para'ah saying,:”Why do you deal this way with your servants?

16 No straw is given to your servants, and they tell us, 'Make brick!' and behold, your servants are beaten, but the fault is in your own people."

17 But he said, "You are idle! You are idle! Therefore you say, 'Let us go and slaughter to 𐀉𐀄𐀅𐀄 (YAHUAH).'

18 Go therefore now and work, for no straw shall be given to you, yet you shall give the same number of bricks!"

19 And the officers of the children of Yashar'AL saw that they were in trouble, when it was said, "You shall not diminish anything from your daily matter of bricks!"

20 And they met Mashah and A'haran, who stood in the way, as they came forth from Para'ah:

21 and they said to them, β€œLet 𐀉𐀄𐀅𐀄 (YAHUAH) look at you and judge, because you have made us a stench to be abhorred in the eyes of Para'ah, and in the eyes of his servants, to put a sword in their hand to kill us."

22 And Mashah returned to 𐀉𐀄𐀅𐀄 (YAHUAH) and said, β€œO Sovereign, why have You brought trouble on this people? Why is it that You have sent me?

23 For since I came to Para'ah to speak in Your Name, he has brought trouble on this people, neither have You rescued Your people at all."

CHAPTER 6

1 And 𐀉𐀄𐀅𐀄 (YAHUAH) said to Mashah, "Now you shall see what I will do to Para'ah, for by a strong hand he shall let them go, and by a strong hand he shall drive them out of his land."

2 And ALUAH spoke to Mashah and said to him, "I am 𐀉𐀄𐀅𐀄 (YAHUAH),

3 And I appeared to Abara'ahm, to Ya'tsakhaq, and to Ya'aqab by AL Shada'ya (Almighty), but by My Name 𐀉𐀄𐀅𐀄 (YAHUAH) I was not known to them.

4 I have also established my Bar'yath (covenant) with them, to give them the land of Kanan, the land of their sojournings, in which they were strangers.

5 Moreover I have heard the groaning of the children of Yashar'AL, whom the Ma'tsara'ym keep in bondage, and I have remembered My Bar'yath (covenant).

6 Therefore tell the children of Yashar'AL, 'I am 𐀉𐀄𐀅𐀄 (YAHUAH), and I will bring you out from under the burdens of the Ma'tsara'ym, and I will rid you out of their bondage, and I will redeem you with an outstretched arm, and with great judgments:

7 And I will take you to Me for a people, and I will be to you an ALUAH, and you shall know that I am 𐀉𐀄𐀅𐀄 (YAHUAH) Your ALUAH, who brings you out from under the burdens of the Ma'tsara'ym.

8 And I will bring you into the land that I swore to give to Abara'ahm, to Ya'tsakhaq, and to Ya'aqab, and I will give it to you for a inheritance: I Am 𐀉𐀄𐀅𐀄 (YAHUAH).'"

9 And Mashah spoke so to the children of Yashar'AL, but they did not listen to Mashah for anguish of rukh, and for cruel bondage.

10 And 𐀉𐀄𐀅𐀄 (YAHUAH) spoke to Mashah saying,

11 "Go in, speak to Para'ah king of Ma'tsara'ym, that he let the children of Yashar'AL go out of his land."

12 And Mashah spoke to the face of 𐀉𐀄𐀅𐀄 (YAHUAH) saying, "Behold, the children of Yashar'AL have not listened to me. How then shall Para'ah listen to me, who am of uncircumcised lips?"

13 And 𐀉𐀄𐀅𐀄 (YAHUAH) spoke to Mashah and to A'haran, and gave them a command to the children of Yashar'AL, and to Para'ah king of Ma'tsara'ym, to bring the children of Yashar'AL out of the land of Ma'tsara'ym.

14 These are the heads of their fathers' houses. Sons of Rauban the firstborn of Yashar'AL: Khanuk, and Palu’a, Khatsar’un (Khatsar’oon), and Karam’ya, these are the families of Rauban.

15 And sons of Shama'un (Shama'oon): Yamu’AL, and Yama’yan, and Ahad, and Yaka’yan, and Tsa’khar, and Sha’ul, son of a Kanan'ya woman, these are the families of Shama'un (Shama'oon).

16 And these are the names of sons of Lu'ya (Loo'ya) according to their generations: Gar’shun (Gar’shoon), and Qa’ah’th, and Marara'ya, and the years of the life of khaYah (Lu'ya) (Loo'ya) were one hundred and thirty and seven years.

17 sons of Gar’shun: Laban’ya and Shama’ya, according to their families.

18 And sons of Qa’ah’th: Am’ram, and Ya’tsa’ahr, and Kha’brun (Kha’broon), and Aza’ya’AL, and the years of the life of Qa’ah’th were one hundred and thirty and three years.

19 sons of Marara'ya: Makhal’ya and Mush’ya (Moosh’ya). These are the families of the Lu'ym (Loo'ym) according to their generations.

20 And Am’ram took Yahu'kabad his father's sister to himself as wife, and she bore him A'haran and Mashah: and the years of the life of Am’ram were a hundred and thirty and seven years.

21 And sons of Ya’tsa’ahr: Qarakh, and Napag, and Zakara’ya.

22 And sons of Aza’ya’AL: Maya’sha’AL, and AL’tsapan, and Sathar’ya.

23 And A'haran took AL’ya’shaba, daughter of Am’ya’nadab, sister of Nakh’shun (Nakh’shoon), as his wife, and she bore him Nadab and Ab’Yahu’a, AL'azar and Aya'thamar.

24 And sons of Qarakh: Asa’yar, and AL’qanah, and Ab’ya’asap, these are the families of the Qarakh’ya.

25 And AL'azar, son of A'haran, took one of the daughters of Puta’ya’AL as his wife, and she bore him Paya’nakhas. These are the heads of the fathers' houses of the Lu'ym (Loo'ym) according to their families.

26 Thisis that A'haran and Mashah, to whom 𐀉𐀄𐀅𐀄 (YAHUAH) said, "Bring out the children of Yashar'AL from the land of Ma'tsara'ym according to their armies."

27 These are those who spoke to Para'ah king of Ma'tsara'ym, to bring out the children of Yashar'AL from Ma'tsara'ym. This is Mashah and A'haran.

28 And it came to be on the day when 𐀉𐀄𐀅𐀄 (YAHUAH) spoke to Mashah in the land of Ma'tsara'ym,

29 That 𐀉𐀄𐀅𐀄 (YAHUAH) spoke to Mashah saying, "I am 𐀉𐀄𐀅𐀄 (YAHUAH). Speak to Para'ah king of Ma'tsara'ym all that I speak to you."

30 And Mashah said to the face of 𐀉𐀄𐀅𐀄 (YAHUAH), "Behold, I am of uncircumcised lips, and how shall Para'ah listen to me?"

CHAPTER 7

1 And 𐀉𐀄𐀅𐀄 (YAHUAH) said to Mashah, "Behold, I have made you as ALUAH to Para'ah, and A'haran your brother shall be your nab’ya (prophet).

2 You shall speak all that I command you, and A'haran your brother shall speak to Para'ah, that he let the children of Yashar'AL go out of his land.

3 But I will harden Para'ah's heart, and multiply My signs and My wonders in the land of Ma'tsara'ym.

4 But Para'ah will not listen to you, and I will lay My hand on Ma'tsara'ym, and bring forth My armies, My people the children of Yashar'AL, out of the land of Ma'tsara'ym by great judgments.

5 And the Ma'tsara'ym shall know that I am 𐀉𐀄𐀅𐀄 (YAHUAH), when I stretch forth My hand on Ma'tsara'ym and bring out the children of Yashar'AL from among them."

6 And Mashah and A'haran did so. As 𐀉𐀄𐀅𐀄 (YAHUAH) commanded them, so they did.

7 And Mashah was eighty years old, and A'haran eighty and three years old, when they spoke to Para'ah.

8 And 𐀉𐀄𐀅𐀄 (YAHUAH) spoke to Mashah and to A'haran saying,

9 "When Para'ah speaks to you saying, 'Perform a miracle!' then you shall tell A'haran, 'Take your rod, and cast it down before Para'ah, that it become a serpent.'"

10 And Mashah and A'haran went in to Para'ah, and they did so, as 𐀉𐀄𐀅𐀄 (YAHUAH) had commanded: and A'haran cast down his rod before Para'ah and before his servants, and it became a serpent.

11 Then Para'ah also called for the discerned men and the sorcerers. They also, the magicians of Ma'tsara'ym, did the same with their enchantments.

12 For they each cast down their rods, and they became serpents: But A'haran's rod swallowed up their rods.

13 And Para'ah's heart was hardened, and he did not listen to them, as 𐀉𐀄𐀅𐀄 (YAHUAH) had spoken.

14 And 𐀉𐀄𐀅𐀄 (YAHUAH) said to Mashah, "Para'ah's heart is stubborn. He refuses to let the people go.

15 Go to Para'ah in the rising. Behold, he goes out to the water, and you shall stand by the river's bank to meet him, and the rod which was turned to a serpent you shall take in your hand.

16 And you shall tell him, '𐀉𐀄𐀅𐀄 (YAHUAH), The ALUAH OF The Abara’ym has sent me to you saying, "Let My people go, that they may serve Me in the wilderness.” And behold, until now you have not listened.

17 Thus says 𐀉𐀄𐀅𐀄 (YAHUAH), "In this you shall know that I am 𐀉𐀄𐀅𐀄 (YAHUAH). Behold, I will strike with the rod that is in My hand on the waters which are in the river, and they shall be turned to blood.

18 And the fish that are in the river shall die, and the river shall become foul, and the Ma'tsara'ym shall loathe to drink water from the river.β€™β€œ

19 And 𐀉𐀄𐀅𐀄 (YAHUAH) said to Mashah, "Tell A'haran, 'Take your rod, and stretch out your hand over the waters of Ma'tsara'ym, over their rivers, over their streams, and over their pools, and over all their ponds of water, that they may become blood, and there shall be blood throughout all the land of Ma'tsara'ym, both in vessels of wood and in vessels of stone.'"

20 And Mashah and A'haran did so, as 𐀉𐀄𐀅𐀄 (YAHUAH) commanded, and he lifted up the rod, and struck the waters that were in the river, in the sight of Para'ah, and in the sight of his servants, and all the waters that were in the river were turned to blood.

21 And the fish that were in the river died, and the river became foul, and the Ma'tsara'ym could not drink water from the river, and the blood was throughout all the land of Ma'tsara'ym.

22 And the magicians of Ma'tsara'ym did the same with their enchantments, and Para'ah's heart was hardened, and he did not listen to them, as 𐀉𐀄𐀅𐀄 (YAHUAH) had spoken.

23 And Para'ah turned and went into his house, and his heart was not moved by this either.

24 And all the Ma'tsara'ym dug around the river for water to drink, for they could not drink of the water of the river.

25 And seven days were fulfilled after 𐀉𐀄𐀅𐀄 (YAHUAH) had struck the river.

CHAPTER 8

1 And 𐀉𐀄𐀅𐀄 (YAHUAH) spoke to Mashah, Go to Para'ah and tell him, "This is what 𐀉𐀄𐀅𐀄 (YAHUAH) says, 'Let My people go, that they may serve Me.

2 But if you refuse to let them go, behold, I will plague all your borders with frogs:

3 and the river shall swarm with frogs, which shall go up and come into your house, and into your bedroom, and on your bed, and into the house of your servants, and on your people, and into your ovens, and into your kneading troughs:

4 and the frogs shall come up both on you, and on your people, and on all your servants.'"

5 And 𐀉𐀄𐀅𐀄 (YAHUAH) said to Mashah, "Tell A'haran, 'Stretch forth your hand with your rod over the rivers, over the streams, and over the pools, and cause frogs to come up on the land of Ma'tsara'ym.'"

6 And A'haran stretched out his hand over the waters of Ma'tsara'ym, and the frogs came up, and covered the land of Ma'tsara'ym.

7 And the magicians did the same with their enchantments, and brought up frogs on the land of Ma'tsara'ym.

8 Then Para'ah called for Mashah and A'haran, and said, "Entreat 𐀉𐀄𐀅𐀄 (YAHUAH), that He take away the frogs from me, and from my people, and I will let the people go, that they may slaughter to 𐀉𐀄𐀅𐀄 (YAHUAH)."

9 And Mashah said to Para'ah, β€œBeautify yourself over me: For when should I pray for you, and for your servants, and for your people, that the frogs be destroyed from you and your houses, and remain in the river only."

10 And he said, "Tomorrow." And he said, "Be it according to your word, that you may know that there is none like 𐀉𐀄𐀅𐀄 (YAHUAH) Our ALUAH.

11 And the frogs shall depart from you, and from your houses, and from your servants, and from your people. They shall remain in the river only."

12 And Mashah and A'haran went out from Para'ah, and Mashah cried to 𐀉𐀄𐀅𐀄 (YAHUAH) concerning the frogs which he had brought on Para'ah.

13 And 𐀉𐀄𐀅𐀄 (YAHUAH) did according to the word of Mashah, and the frogs died out of the houses, out of the courts, and out of the fields.

14 And they gathered them together in heaps, and the land stank.

15 And when Para'ah saw that there was relief, he hardened his heart, and did not listen to them, as 𐀉𐀄𐀅𐀄 (YAHUAH) had spoken.

16 And 𐀉𐀄𐀅𐀄 (YAHUAH) said to Mashah, "Tell A'haran, 'Stretch out your rod, and strike the dust of the earth, that it may become lice throughout all the land of Ma'tsara'ym.'"

17 And they did so, and A'haran stretched out his hand with his rod, and struck the dust of the earth, and there were lice on man, and on beast, all the dust of the earth became lice throughout all the land of Ma'tsara'ym.

18 And the magicians tried with their enchantments to bring forth lice, but they could not. And there were lice on man, and on beast.

19 Then the magicians said to Para'ah, "This is the Finger of ALUAH:" and Para'ah's heart was hardened, and he did not listen to them, as 𐀉𐀄𐀅𐀄 (YAHUAH) had spoken.

20 And 𐀉𐀄𐀅𐀄 (YAHUAH) said to Mashah, "Rise up early in the rising and stand before Para'ah, behold, he comes forth to the water, and tell him, 'This is what 𐀉𐀄𐀅𐀄 (YAHUAH) says, "Let My people go, that they may serve Me.

21 Or else, if you will not let My people go, behold, I will send swarms of flies on you, and on your servants, and on your people, and into your houses: and the houses of the Ma'tsara'ym shall be full of swarms of flies, and also the ground whereon they are.

22 And I will make apart in that day the land of Gashan, in that My people abide, that no swarms of flies shall be there, to the end you may know that I am 𐀉𐀄𐀅𐀄 (YAHUAH) in the midst of the earth.

23 And I will put a division between My people and your people: By tomorrow shall this sign be.β€™β€œ

24 And 𐀉𐀄𐀅𐀄 (YAHUAH) did so, and there came grievous swarms of flies into the house of Para'ah, and into his servants' houses: and in all the land of Ma'tsara'ym the land was corrupted by reason of the swarms of flies.

25 And Para'ah called for Mashah and for A'haran and said, "Go, slaughter to Your ALUAH in the land!"

26 And Mashah said, "It is not appropriate to do so, for we shall slaughter the abomination of the Ma'tsara'ym to 𐀉𐀄𐀅𐀄 (YAHUAH) Our ALUAH. Behold, shall we slaughter the abomination of the Ma'tsara'ym before their eyes, and will they not stone us?

27 We will go three days' journey into the wilderness and slaughter to 𐀉𐀄𐀅𐀄 (YAHUAH) Our ALUAH, as He shall command us."

28 And Para'ah said, "I will let you go, that you may slaughter to 𐀉𐀄𐀅𐀄 (YAHUAH) Your ALUAH in the wilderness, only you shall not go very far away. Entreat for me."

29 And Mashah said, "Behold, I go out from you, and I will entreat to 𐀉𐀄𐀅𐀄 (YAHUAH) that the swarms of flies may depart from Para'ah, from his servants, and from his people, tomorrow, only do not let Para'ah deal deceitfully any more in not letting the people go to slaughter to 𐀉𐀄𐀅𐀄 (YAHUAH)."

30 And Mashah went out from Para'ah and entreated unto 𐀉𐀄𐀅𐀄 (YAHUAH).

31 And 𐀉𐀄𐀅𐀄 (YAHUAH) did according to the word of Mashah, and He removed the swarms of flies from Para'ah, from his servants, and from his people. There remained not one.

32 And Para'ah hardened his heart this time also, and he did not let the people go.

CHAPTER 9

1 And 𐀉𐀄𐀅𐀄 (YAHUAH) said to Mashah, "Go to Para'ah and tell him, 'This is what 𐀉𐀄𐀅𐀄 (YAHUAH), The ALUAH of the Abara’ym says: "Let My people go, that they may serve Me.

2 For if you refuse to let them go, and hold them still,

3 Behold, the Hand of 𐀉𐀄𐀅𐀄 (YAHUAH) is on your livestock that are in the field, on the horses, on the donkeys, on the camels, on the herds, and on the flocks with a very grievous pestilence.

4 And 𐀉𐀄𐀅𐀄 (YAHUAH) will make a distinction between the livestock of Yashar'AL and the livestock of Ma'tsara'ym, and nothing shall die of all that belongs to the children of Yashar'AL.β€™β€œ

5 And 𐀉𐀄𐀅𐀄 (YAHUAH) made an appointed time, saying, "Tomorrow 𐀉𐀄𐀅𐀄 (YAHUAH) shall do this, the Word, in the land."

6 And 𐀉𐀄𐀅𐀄 (YAHUAH) did this, the Word, on the next day, and all the livestock of Ma'tsara'ym died, but of the livestock of the children of Yashar'AL, not one died.

7 And Para'ah sent, and behold, there was not so much as one of the livestock of Yashar'AL dead. But the heart of Para'ah was stubborn, and he did not let the people go.

8 And 𐀉𐀄𐀅𐀄 (YAHUAH) said to Mashah and to A'haran, "Take to you handfuls of ashes of the furnace, and let Mashah sprinkle it toward the sky in the sight of Para'ah.

9 And it shall become small dust over all the land of Ma'tsara'ym, and shall be a boil breaking forth with boils on man and on beast, throughout all the land of Ma'tsara'ym."

10 And they took ashes of the furnace, and stood before Para'ah, and Mashah sprinkled it up toward the sky, and it became a boil breaking forth with boils on man and on beast.

11 And the magicians could not stand before Mashah because of the boils, for the boils were on the magicians, and on all the Ma'tsara'ym.

12 And 𐀉𐀄𐀅𐀄 (YAHUAH) hardened the heart of Para'ah, and he did not listen to them, as 𐀉𐀄𐀅𐀄 (YAHUAH) had spoken to Mashah.

13 And 𐀉𐀄𐀅𐀄 (YAHUAH) said to Mashah, "Rise up early in the rising, and stand before Para'ah and tell him, 'This is what 𐀉𐀄𐀅𐀄 (YAHUAH), The ALUAH of the Abara’ym says: "Let My people go, that they may serve Me.

14 For this time I will send all My plagues against your heart, against your officials, and against your people, that you may know that there is none like Me in all the earth.

15 For now I would have put forth My hand and struck you and your people with pestilence, and you would have been cut off from the earth,

16 But indeed for this cause I have made you stand: To show you My power, and that My Name is declared throughout all the earth,

17 As you still exalt yourself against My people, that you will not let them go.

18 Behold, tomorrow about this time I will cause it to rain a very grievous hail, such as has not been in Ma'tsara'ym since the day it was founded even until now.

19 Now therefore command that all of your livestock and all that you have in the field be brought into shelter. Every man and beast that is found in the field, and is not brought home, the hail shall come down on them, and they shall die."

20 Those who feared the word of 𐀉𐀄𐀅𐀄 (YAHUAH) among the servants of Para'ah made their servants and their livestock flee into the houses.

21 But he who has not place his heart on the Word of 𐀉𐀄𐀅𐀄 (YAHUAH) left his servants and his livestock in the field.

22 And 𐀉𐀄𐀅𐀄 (YAHUAH) said to Mashah, "Stretch forth your hand toward the sky, that there may be hail in all the land of Ma'tsara'ym, on man, and on beast, and on every herb of the field, throughout the land of Ma'tsara'ym."

23 And Mashah stretched forth his rod toward the shama'ym, and 𐀉𐀄𐀅𐀄 (YAHUAH) sent thunder, hail, and lightning flashed down to the earth. And 𐀉𐀄𐀅𐀄 (YAHUAH) rained hail on the land of Ma'tsara'ym.

24 So there was very severe hail, and lightning mixed with the hail, such as had not been in all the land of Ma'tsara'ym since it became a nation.

25 And the hail struck throughout all the land of Ma'tsara'ym all that was in the field, both man and beast, and the hail struck every herb of the field, and broke every tree of the field.

26 Only in the land of Gashan, where the children of Yashar'AL were, there was no hail.

27 And Para'ah sent, and called for Mashah and A'haran and said to them, "I have transgressed this time. 𐀉𐀄𐀅𐀄 (YAHUAH) is righteous, and I and my people are wicked.

28 Entreat to 𐀉𐀄𐀅𐀄 (YAHUAH), for there has been enough of mighty thunderings and hail. And I will let you go, and you shall stay no longer."

29 And Mashah said to him, "As soon as I have gone out of the city, I will spread abroad my hands to 𐀉𐀄𐀅𐀄 (YAHUAH). The thunders shall cease, neither shall there be any more hail, that you may know that the earth is 𐀉𐀄𐀅𐀄 (YAHUAH)'s.

30 But as for you and your servants, I know that you do not yet fear 𐀉𐀄𐀅𐀄 (YAHUAH) ALUAH."

31 And the flax and the barley were struck, for the barley was in the ear, and the flax was in bloom.

32 But the wheat and the spelt were not struck, for they had not grown up.

33 And Mashah went out of the city from Para'ah, and spread abroad his hands to 𐀉𐀄𐀅𐀄 (YAHUAH), and the thunders and hail ceased, and the rain was not poured on the earth.

34 And when Para'ah saw that the rain and the hail and the thunders were ceased, he transgressed yet more, and hardened his heart, he and his servants.

35 And the heart of Para'ah was hardened, and he did not let the children of Yashar'AL go, just as 𐀉𐀄𐀅𐀄 (YAHUAH) had spoken through Mashah.

CHAPTER 10

1 And 𐀉𐀄𐀅𐀄 (YAHUAH) said to Mashah, "Go in to Para'ah, for I have hardened his heart, and the heart of his servants, that I may show these My signs in the midst of them,

2 And that you may tell in the hearing of your son, and of your son's son, what I have done to Ma'tsara'ym, and My signs which I have done among them, that you may know that I am 𐀉𐀄𐀅𐀄 (YAHUAH)."

3 And Mashah and A'haran went in to Para'ah and said to him, "This is what 𐀉𐀄𐀅𐀄 (YAHUAH), The ALUAH of the Abara’ym says: 'How long will you refuse to humble yourself before Me? Let My people go, that they may serve Me.

4 Or else, if you refuse to let My people go, behold, tomorrow I will bring locusts into your country,

5 and they shall cover the surface of the earth, so that one will not be able to see the earth. And they shall eat the remnant of that which has escaped, which remains to you from the hail, and shall eat every tree which grows for you out of the field.

6 And your houses shall be filled, and the houses of all your servants, and the houses of all the Ma'tsara'ym, as neither your fathers nor your fathers' fathers have seen, since the day that they were on the earth to this day.'" And he turned and went out from Para'ah.

7 And the servants of Para'ah said to him, "How long will this man be a snare to us? Let the men go, that they serve 𐀉𐀄𐀅𐀄 (YAHUAH) Their ALUAH. Do you not yet know that Ma'tsara'ym is destroyed?"

8 And Mashah and A'haran were brought again to Para'ah, and he said to them, "Go, Serve 𐀉𐀄𐀅𐀄 (YAHUAH) Your ALUAH, but who are those who will go?"

9 And Mashah said, "We will go with our young and with our old, with our sons and with our daughters, with our flocks and with our herds will we go, for we must hold a Festival to 𐀉𐀄𐀅𐀄 (YAHUAH)."

10 And he said to them, "𐀉𐀄𐀅𐀄 (YAHUAH) be with you if I will let you go with your little ones! See, evil is clearly before your faces.

11 Not so! Go now you who are men, and serve 𐀉𐀄𐀅𐀄 (YAHUAH), for that is what you desire!" And they were driven out from Para'ah's face.

12 And 𐀉𐀄𐀅𐀄 (YAHUAH) said to Mashah, "Stretch out your hand over the land of Ma'tsara'ym for the locusts, that they may come up on the land of Ma'tsara'ym, and eat every herb of the land, even all that the hail has left."

13 And Mashah stretched forth his rod over the land of Ma'tsara'ym, and 𐀉𐀄𐀅𐀄 (YAHUAH) brought an east wind on the land all that day, and all the night, and when it was rising, the east wind brought the locusts.

14 And the locusts went up over all the land of Ma'tsara'ym, and rested in all the borders of Ma'tsara'ym. They were very grievous. Before them there were no such locusts as they, neither after them shall be such.

15 For they covered the surface of the whole earth, so that the land was darkened, and they ate every herb of the land, and all the fruit of the trees which the hail had left. And there remained nothing green, either tree or herb of the field, through all the land of Ma'tsara'ym.

16 Then Para'ah called for Mashah and A'haran in haste, and he said, "I have transgressed against 𐀉𐀄𐀅𐀄 (YAHUAH) Your ALUAH, and against you.

17 Now therefore please forgive my transgression again, and entreat to 𐀉𐀄𐀅𐀄 (YAHUAH) Your ALUAH, that He may also take away from me this death."

18 And he went out from Para'ah, and entreated to 𐀉𐀄𐀅𐀄 (YAHUAH).

19 And 𐀉𐀄𐀅𐀄 (YAHUAH) turned an exceeding strong west wind, which took up the locusts, and drove them into the sea of reeds. There remained not one locust in all the borders of Ma'tsara'ym.

20 But 𐀉𐀄𐀅𐀄 (YAHUAH) hardened Para'ah's heart, and he did not let the children of Yashar'AL go.

21 And 𐀉𐀄𐀅𐀄 (YAHUAH) said to Mashah, "Stretch out your hand toward the sky, that there may be darkness over the land of Ma'tsara'ym, even darkness which may be felt."

22 And Mashah stretched forth his hand toward the sky, and there was a thick darkness in all the land of Ma'tsara'ym three days.

23 They did not see one another, neither did anyone rise from his place for three days, but all the children of Yashar'AL had light in their abidings.

24 And Para'ah called to Mashah and said, "Go, serve 𐀉𐀄𐀅𐀄 (YAHUAH). Only let your flocks and your herds stay behind. Let your little ones also go with you."

25 And Mashah said, "You must also give into our hand slaughterings and burnt offerings, that we perform to 𐀉𐀄𐀅𐀄 (YAHUAH) Our ALUAH.

26 And our livestock also shall go with us. Not a hoof shall be left behind, for of it we must take to serve 𐀉𐀄𐀅𐀄 (YAHUAH) Our ALUAH, and we do not know with what we must serve 𐀉𐀄𐀅𐀄 (YAHUAH), until we come there."

27 But 𐀉𐀄𐀅𐀄 (YAHUAH) hardened Para'ah's heart, and he would not let them go.

28 And Para'ah said to him, "Get away from me! Be careful to see my face no more, for in the day you see my face you shall die!"

29 And Mashah said, "You have spoken well. I will see your face again no more."

CHAPTER 11

1 And 𐀉𐀄𐀅𐀄 (YAHUAH) said to Mashah, "Yet one plague more will I bring on Para'ah, and on Ma'tsara'ym, afterwards he will let you go. When he lets you go, he will surely thrust you out altogether.

2 Speak now in the ears of the people, and let them ask every man of his neighbor, and every woman of her neighbor, jewels of silver, and jewels of gold."

3 And 𐀉𐀄𐀅𐀄 (YAHUAH) gave the people favor in the sight of the Ma'tsara'ym. Moreover the man Mashah was very great in the land of Ma'tsara'ym, in the sight of Para'ah's servants, and in the sight of the people.

4 And Mashah said, "This is what 𐀉𐀄𐀅𐀄 (YAHUAH) says: 'About midnight I will go out into the midst of Ma'tsara'ym,

5 and all the firstborn in the land of Ma'tsara'ym shall die, from the firstborn of Para'ah who sits on his throne, even to the firstborn of the female servant who is behind the mill, and all the firstborn of livestock.

6 And there shall be a great cry throughout all the land of Ma'tsara'ym, such as there has not been, nor shall be any more.

7 But against any of the children of Yashar'AL a dog will not even move its tongue, against man or beast, that you may know that 𐀉𐀄𐀅𐀄 (YAHUAH) makes a distinction between the Ma'tsara'ym and Yashar'AL.

8 And all these your servants shall come down to Me, and bow down themselves to Me,saying, "Get out, with all the people who follow you," and after that I will go out.'" He went out from Para'ah in hot anger.

9 And 𐀉𐀄𐀅𐀄 (YAHUAH) said to Mashah, "Para'ah will not listen to you, that My wonders be multiplied in the land of Ma'tsara'ym."

10 And Mashah and A'haran did all these wonders before Para'ah, and 𐀉𐀄𐀅𐀄 (YAHUAH) hardened the heart of Para'ah, and he did not let the children of Yashar'AL go out of his land.

CHAPTER 12

1 And 𐀉𐀄𐀅𐀄 (YAHUAH) spoke to Mashah and A'haran in the land of Ma'tsara'ym saying,

2 "This new month shall be to you the beginning of months. It shall be the first month of the year to you.

3 Speak to all the congregation of Yashar'AL, saying, β€˜In ten of this month, they shall take to them every man a lamb, according to their fathers' houses, a lamb for a household,

4 and if the household is too little for a lamb, then he and his neighbor next to his house shall take one according to the number of the beings, according to what everyone can eat you shall make your count for the lamb.

5 Lamb shall be without blemish, a male a year old. You shall take it from the sheep, or from the goats:

6 and you shall keep it until the fourteenth day of the same month, and the whole assembly of the congregation of Yashar'AL shall kill it at evening.

7 And they shall take some of the blood, and put it on the two doorposts and on the lintel, on the houses in which they shall eat it.

8 And they shall eat the flesh in that night, roasted with fire, and unleavened bread. They shall eat it with bitter herbs.

9 Do not eat it raw, nor boiled at all with water, but roasted with fire, with its head, its legs and its inner parts.

10 And you shall let nothing of it remain until the rising, but that which remains of it until the rising you shall burn with fire.

11 And this is how you shall eat it: with your loins girded, your sandals on your feet, and your staff in your hand, and you shall eat it in haste: It Is The Pasakh OF 𐀉𐀄𐀅𐀄 (YAHUAH).

12 For I will go through the land of Ma'tsara'ym in that night, and will strike all the firstborn in the land of Ma'tsara'ym, both man and beast. Against all the idols of Ma'tsara'ym I will execute judgments: I AM 𐀉𐀄𐀅𐀄 (YAHUAH).

13 And the blood shall be to you for a Sign on the houses where you are: And when I see the blood, I will pass over you, and there shall no plague be on you to destroy you, when I strike the land of Ma'tsara'ym.

14 And this day shall be to you for a memorial, and you shall keep it a festival to 𐀉𐀄𐀅𐀄 (YAHUAH): throughout your generations you shall keep it a festival by an ordinance forever.

15 "'Seven days you shall eat unleavened bread, even the first day you shall put away leaven out of your houses, for whoever eats leavened bread from the first day until the seventh day, that being shall be cut off from Yashar'AL.

16 And in the first day there shall be to you a made apart convocation, and in the seventh day a made apart convocation, no kind of work shall be done in them, except that which every man must eat, that only may be done by you.

17 And you shall guard the feast of unleavened bread, for in this same day have I brought your armies out of the land of Ma'tsara'ym: therefore you shall observe this day throughout your generations by an ordinance forever.

18 In the first month, on the fourteenth day of the month in evening, you shall eat unleavened bread, until the twenty first day of the month in evening.

19 Seven days shall there be no leaven found in your houses, for whoever eats that which is leavened, that being shall be cut off from the congregation of Yashar'AL, whether he be a foreigner, or one who is born in the land.

20 You shall eat nothing leavened. In all your habitations you shall eat unleavened bread.'"

21 Then Mashah called for all the elders of Yashar'AL and said to them, "Draw out, and take lambs according to your families, and kill the Pasakh.

22 And you shall take a bunch of hyssop, and dip it in the blood that is in the basin, and strike the lintel and the two doorposts with the blood that is in the basin, and none of you shall go out of the door of his house until the rising.

23 For 𐀉𐀄𐀅𐀄 (YAHUAH) will pass through to strike the Ma'tsara'ym, and when He sees the blood on the lintel, and on the two doorposts, 𐀉𐀄𐀅𐀄 (YAHUAH) will pass over the door, and will not allow the destroyer to come in to your houses to strike you.

24 And you shall guard this, the Word, for an ordinance to you and to your sons forever.

25 And it shall be when you have come to the land that 𐀉𐀄𐀅𐀄 (YAHUAH) will give you, according as He has promised, that you shall keep this service.

26 And it will be, when your children ask you, 'What do you mean by this service?'

27 That you shall say, 'It is the slaughtering of 𐀉𐀄𐀅𐀄 (YAHUAH)'s Pasakh, who passed over the houses of the children of Yashar'AL in Ma'tsara'ym, when He struck the Ma'tsara'ym and spared our houses.'" And the people bowed their heads and worshiped.

28 And the children of Yashar'AL went and did so, as 𐀉𐀄𐀅𐀄 (YAHUAH) had commanded Mashah and A'haran, so they did.

29 And it came to be at midnight that 𐀉𐀄𐀅𐀄 (YAHUAH) struck all the firstborn in the land of Ma'tsara'ym, from the firstborn of Para'ah who sat on his throne to the firstborn of the captive who was in the dungeon, and all the firstborn of livestock.

30 And Para'ah rose up in the night: he, and all his servants, and all the Ma'tsara'ym, and there was a great cry in Ma'tsara'ym, for there was not a house where there was not one dead.

31 And he called for Mashah and A'haran by night and said, "Rise up, get out from among my people, both you and the children of Yashar'AL, and go, serve 𐀉𐀄𐀅𐀄 (YAHUAH), as you have said!

32 Take both your flocks and your herds, as you have said, and be gone, and Barak me also!"

33 And the Ma'tsara'ym urged the people, to send them out of the land in haste, for they said, "We are all dying.”

34 And the people took their dough before it was leavened, their kneading troughs being bound up in their clothes on their shoulders.

35 And the children of Yashar'AL did according to the word of Mashah, and they asked of the Ma'tsara'ym jewels of silver, and jewels of gold, and clothing.

36 And 𐀉𐀄𐀅𐀄 (YAHUAH) gave the people favor in the sight of the Ma'tsara'ym, so that they let them have what they asked. They despoiled the Ma'tsara'ym.

37 And the children of Yashar'AL traveled from Ra’ama’sas to Suka’thah, about six hundred thousand on foot who were men, besides children.

38 And a mixed multitude went up also with them, with flocks, herds, and even very much livestock.

39 And they baked unleavened cakes of the dough which they brought forth out of Ma'tsara'ym, for it wasn't leavened, because they were thrust out of Ma'tsara'ym, and could not wait, neither had they prepared for themselves any food.

40 Now the time that the children of Yashar'AL abided in Ma'tsara'ym AND KANAN* was four hundred and thirty years.

*This is taken from the Septuagint.

*See Note On Preface

41 And it came to be at the end of four hundred and thirty years, even the same day it came to be, that all the armies of 𐀉𐀄𐀅𐀄 (YAHUAH) went out from the land of Ma'tsara'ym.

42 It is a night to be much observed to 𐀉𐀄𐀅𐀄 (YAHUAH) for bringing them out from the land of Ma'tsara'ym. This is that night of 𐀉𐀄𐀅𐀄 (YAHUAH), to be much observed of all the children of Yashar'AL throughout their generations.

43 And 𐀉𐀄𐀅𐀄 (YAHUAH) said to Mashah and A'haran, "This is the ordinance of the Pasakh. No foreigner shall eat of it,

44 But every man's servant who is bought for silver, when you have circumcised him, then shall he eat of it.

45 A foreigner and a hired servant shall not eat of it.

46 In one house shall it be eaten, you shall not carry forth anything of the flesh abroad out of the house, neither shall you break a bone of it.

47 All the congregation of Yashar'AL shall keep it.

48 And when a stranger shall abide as a foreigner with you, and will keep the Pasakh to 𐀉𐀄𐀅𐀄 (YAHUAH), let all his males be circumcised, and then let him come near and keep it, and he shall be as one who is born in the land: but no uncircumcised person shall eat of it.

49 One Thurah shall be for the native born, and for the stranger who abides as a foreigner among you."

50 And all the children of Yashar'AL did so. As 𐀉𐀄𐀅𐀄 (YAHUAH) commanded Mashah and A'haran, so they did.

51 And it came to be the same day, that 𐀉𐀄𐀅𐀄 (YAHUAH) brought the children of Yashar'AL out of the land of Ma'tsara'ym by their armies.

CHAPTER 13

1 And 𐀉𐀄𐀅𐀄 (YAHUAH) spoke to Mashah saying,

2 ”Make apart to Me all of the firstborn, whatever opens the womb among the children of Yashar'AL, both of man and of beast, it is Mine."

3 And Mashah said to the people, "Remember this day, in that you came out from Ma'tsara'ym, out of the house of bondage, for by strength of hand 𐀉𐀄𐀅𐀄 (YAHUAH) brought you out from this place. And no leavened bread shall be eaten.

4 This day you go forth in the month Ab'yab.

5 And it shall be, when 𐀉𐀄𐀅𐀄 (YAHUAH) shall bring you into the land of the Kanan'ya, and the Khath'ya, and the Amar'ya, and the Khu'ya, and the Yabus'ya, which he swore to your fathers to give you, a land flowing with milk and honey, that you shall keep this service in this month.

6 Seven days you shall eat unleavened bread, and in the seventh day shall be a feast to 𐀉𐀄𐀅𐀄 (YAHUAH).

7 Unleavened bread shall be eaten throughout the seven days, and no leavened bread shall be seen with you, neither shall there be leaven seen with you, in all your borders.

8 And you shall tell your son in that day saying, 'It is because of that what 𐀉𐀄𐀅𐀄 (YAHUAH) did for me when I came forth out of Ma'tsara'ym.'

9 And it shall be for a Sign to you on your hand, and for a memorial between your eyes, that The Thur’ath of 𐀉𐀄𐀅𐀄 (YAHUAH) be in your mouth, for with a strong hand 𐀉𐀄𐀅𐀄 (YAHUAH) has brought you out of Ma'tsara'ym.

10 And you shall keep this ordinance for its season from year to year.

11 "And it shall be, when 𐀉𐀄𐀅𐀄 (YAHUAH) shall bring you into the land of the Kanan'ya, as He swore to you and to your fathers, and shall give it you,

12 That you shall make apart to 𐀉𐀄𐀅𐀄 (YAHUAH) all that opens the womb, and every firstborn that you have that comes from an beast. The males shall be 𐀉𐀄𐀅𐀄 (YAHUAH)'s.

13 But every firstborn of a donkey you shall redeem with a lamb, and if you will not redeem it, then you shall break its neck, and you shall redeem all the firstborn of man among your sons.

14 And it shall be, when your son asks you in time to come saying, 'What is this?' that you shall tell him, 'By strength of hand 𐀉𐀄𐀅𐀄 (YAHUAH) brought us out from Ma'tsara'ym, from the house of bondage,

15 And it came to be, when Para'ah was hardened to let us go, that 𐀉𐀄𐀅𐀄 (YAHUAH) killed all the firstborn in the land of Ma'tsara'ym, both the firstborn of man, and the firstborn of beast. Therefore I slaughter to 𐀉𐀄𐀅𐀄 (YAHUAH) all that opens the womb, being males, but all the firstborn of my sons I redeem.'

16 And it shall be for a Sign on your hand, and for symbols between your eyes: For by strength of hand 𐀉𐀄𐀅𐀄 (YAHUAH) brought us forth out of Ma'tsara'ym."

17 And it came to be, when Para'ah had let the people go, that ALUAH did not lead them by the way of the land of the Palash'tha'ym, although that was near, for ALUAH said, "Lest perhaps the people regret when they see war, and they return to Ma'tsara'ym,"

18 But ALUAH led the people around by the way of the wilderness by the sea of reeds, and the children of Yashar'AL went up armed out of the land of Ma'tsara'ym.

19 And Mashah took the bones of Yahu'sap with him, for he had made the children of Yashar'AL swear saying, "ALUAH will surely visit you, and you shall carry up my bones away from here with you."

20 And they journeyed from Sakath and encamped in Atham, in the edge of the wilderness.

21 And 𐀉𐀄𐀅𐀄 (YAHUAH) went before them by day in a column of cloud, to lead them on their way, and by night in a column of fire, to give them light, that they might go by day and by night:

22 The column of cloud by day, and the column of fire by night, did not depart from before the people.

CHAPTER 14

1 And 𐀉𐀄𐀅𐀄 (YAHUAH) spoke to Mashah saying,

2 "Speak to the children of Yashar'AL, that they turn back and encamp before Paya Ha’Kha’yarath, between Magadal and the sea, before Ba’al Tsapan. You shall encamp opposite it by the sea.

3 And Para'ah will say of the children of Yashar'AL, 'They are entangled in the land. The wilderness has shut them in.'

4 And I will harden Para'ah's heart, and he will follow after them, and I will get esteem over Para'ah, and over all his armies, and the Ma'tsara'ym shall know that I am 𐀉𐀄𐀅𐀄 (YAHUAH)." And they did so.

5 And it was told the king of Ma'tsara'ym that the people had fled, and the heart of Para'ah and of his servants was changed towards the people, and they said, "What is this we have done, that we have let Yashar'AL go from serving us?"

6 And he prepared his chariot, and took his army with him,

7 And he took six hundred chosen chariots, and all the chariots of Ma'tsara'ym, and captains over all of them.

8 And 𐀉𐀄𐀅𐀄 (YAHUAH) hardened the heart of Para'ah king of Ma'tsara'ym, and he pursued after the children of Yashar'AL, for the children of Yashar'AL went out with an exalted hand.

9 And the Ma'tsara'ym pursued after them: all the horses and chariots of Para'ah, his horsemen, and his army, and overtook them encamping by the sea, beside Paya Ha’Kha’yarath, to the face of Ba’al Tsapan.

10 And when Para'ah drew near, the children of Yashar'AL lifted up their eyes, and behold, the Ma'tsara'ym were marching after them, and they were very afraid. And the children of Yashar'AL cried out to 𐀉𐀄𐀅𐀄 (YAHUAH).

11 And they said to Mashah, "Because there were no graves in Ma'tsara'ym, have you taken us away to die in the wilderness? Why have you treated us this way, to bring us forth out of Ma'tsara'ym?

12 Is this not the word that we spoke to you in Ma'tsara'ym saying, 'Leave us alone, that we may serve the Ma'tsara'ym?' For it were better for us to serve the Ma'tsara'ym, than that we should die in the wilderness."

13 And Mashah said to the people, "Do not be afraid. Stand still and see the SAVING OF 𐀉𐀄𐀅𐀄 (YAHUAH) that HE will work for you today: For the Ma'tsara'ym whom you have seen today, you shall never see them again.

14 β€ͺ(YAHUAH) 𐀉𐀄𐀅𐀄 will fight for you, and you shall be still."

15 And 𐀉𐀄𐀅𐀄 (YAHUAH) said to Mashah, "Why do you cry to Me? Speak to the children of Yashar'AL, that they go forward.

16 Lift up your rod, and stretch out your hand over the sea, and divide it: And the children of Yashar'AL shall go into the midst of the sea on dry ground.

17 And I, behold, I will harden the hearts of the Ma'tsara'ym, and they shall go in after them: And I will get myself esteem over Para'ah, and over all his armies, over his chariots, and over his horsemen.

18 And the Ma'tsara'ym shall know that I am 𐀉𐀄𐀅𐀄 (YAHUAH), when I have gotten myself esteem over Para'ah, over his chariots, and over his horsemen."

19 And the Messenger of ALUAH, who went before the camp of Yashar'AL, moved and went behind them, and the column of cloud moved from before them, and stood behind them.

20 And came between the camp of Ma'tsara'ym and the camp of Yashar'AL, and there was the cloud and the darkness, yet gave it light by night: and the one did not come near the other all the night.

21 And Mashah stretched out his hand over the sea, and 𐀉𐀄𐀅𐀄 (YAHUAH) caused the sea to go back by a strong east wind all the night, and made the sea dry land, and the waters were divided.

22 And the children of Yashar'AL went into the midst of the sea on the dry ground, and the waters were a wall to them on their right hand, and on their left.

23 And the Ma'tsara'ym pursued, and went in after them into the midst of the sea: All of Para'ah's horses, his chariots, and his horsemen.

24 And it came to be in the rising watch, that 𐀉𐀄𐀅𐀄 (YAHUAH) looked out on the Ma'tsara'ym army through the column of fire and of cloud, and confused the Ma'tsara'ym army.

25 And He took off their chariot wheels, and they drove them heavily, so that the Ma'tsara'ym said, "Let's flee from the face of Yashar'AL, for 𐀉𐀄𐀅𐀄 (YAHUAH) fights for them against the Ma'tsara'ym!"

26 And 𐀉𐀄𐀅𐀄 (YAHUAH) said to Mashah, "Stretch out your hand over the sea, that the waters may come again on the Ma'tsara'ym, on their chariots, and on their horsemen."

27 And Mashah stretched out his hand over the sea, and the sea returned to its strength when the rising appeared, and the Ma'tsara'ym fled against it. And 𐀉𐀄𐀅𐀄 (YAHUAH) overthrew the Ma'tsara'ym in the midst of the sea.

28 And the waters returned, and covered the chariots and the horsemen, even all Para'ah's army that went in after them into the sea. And there remained not so much as one of them.

29 But the children of Yashar'AL walked on dry land in the midst of the sea, and the waters were a wall to them on their right hand, and on their left.

30 Thus 𐀉𐀄𐀅𐀄 (YAHUAH) saved Yashar'AL that day out of the hand of the Ma'tsara'ym, and Yashar'AL saw the Ma'tsara'ym dead on the seashore.

31 And Yashar'AL saw the great work that 𐀉𐀄𐀅𐀄 (YAHUAH) did to the Ma'tsara'ym, and the people feared 𐀉𐀄𐀅𐀄 (YAHUAH), and they trusted in 𐀉𐀄𐀅𐀄 (YAHUAH), and in His servant Mashah.

CHAPTER 15

1 Then Mashah and the children of Yashar'AL sang this song to 𐀉𐀄𐀅𐀄 (YAHUAH) and said, "I will sing to 𐀉𐀄𐀅𐀄 (YAHUAH), for He is highly exalted! The horse and his rider he has thrown into the sea.

2 (YAH) 𐀉𐀄 IS My strength and song. He has become My saving. This IS MY AL, and I will praise Him, my father's ALUAH, and I will exalt Him.

3 (YAHUAH) 𐀉𐀄𐀅𐀄  is a man of war. 𐀉𐀄𐀅𐀄 (YAHUAH) IS His Name!

4 He has cast Para'ah's chariots and his army into the sea. His chosen captains are sunk in the sea of reeds.

5 The depths cover them. They went down into the depths like a stone.

6 Your right hand, O 𐀉𐀄𐀅𐀄 (YAHUAH), is great in power. Your right hand, O 𐀉𐀄𐀅𐀄 (YAHUAH), dashes the enemy in pieces.

7 And in the greatness of Your excellency, You overthrow those who rise up against You. You send forth Your wrath. It consumes them as stubble.

8 And with the wind of Your nostrils, the waters were piled up. The floods stood upright as a heap. The deeps were congealed in the heart of the sea.

9 The enemy said, 'I will pursue. I will overtake. I will divide the plunder. My desire shall be satisfied on them. I will draw my sword, my hand shall destroy them.'

10 You blew with Your wind. The sea covered them. They sank like lead in the mighty waters.

11 Who is like You, O 𐀉𐀄𐀅𐀄 (YAHUAH), among the mighty ones? Who is like You, great in Made Apartnesss, fearful in praises, doing wonders?

12 You stretched out Your right hand. The earth swallowed them.

13 "In Your loving kindness, You have led the people that You have redeemed. You have guided them in yYour strength to Your made apart habitation.

14 The peoples have heard. They tremble. Pangs have taken hold on the inhabitants of Palash’tha.

15 Then the chiefs of Adum were dismayed. Trembling takes hold of the mighty men of Mu’ab. All the inhabitants of Kanan are melted away.

16 Terror and dread falls on them. By the greatness of Your arm they are as still as a stoneβ€” until Your people pass over, 𐀉𐀄𐀅𐀄 (YAHUAH), until the people pass over who You have purchased.

17 You shall bring them in and plant them in the mountain of Your inheritance, the place, O 𐀉𐀄𐀅𐀄 (YAHUAH), that You have made for Yourself to abide in, The Made Apart Place, O Sovereign, that Your hands have established.

18 (YAHUAH) 𐀉𐀄𐀅𐀄 shall reign forever and ever."

19 For the horses of Para'ah went in with his chariots and with his horsemen into the sea, and 𐀉𐀄𐀅𐀄 (YAHUAH) brought back the waters of the sea on them, but the children of Yashar'AL walked on dry land in the midst of the sea.

20 And Mara'ym the nab’ya’ah (prophetess), sister of A'haran, took a tambourine in her hand, and all the women went out after her with tambourines and with dances.

21 And Mara'ym answered them, "Sing to 𐀉𐀄𐀅𐀄 (YAHUAH), for He is greatly exalted! The horse and his rider He has thrown into the sea."

22 And Mashah led Yashar'AL onward from the sea of reeds, and they went out into the wilderness of Shur, and they went three days in the wilderness, and found no water.

23 And when they came to Mara’thah,* they could not drink from the waters of Marah,* for they were bitter. Therefore its name was called Marah.*

*Note The Masoretic difference in this name all within the same verse

24 And the people murmured against Mashah saying, "What shall we drink?"

25 Then he cried to 𐀉𐀄𐀅𐀄 (YAHUAH). And 𐀉𐀄𐀅𐀄 (YAHUAH) showed him a tree, and he threw it into the waters, and the waters were made sweet. There He made a statute and an ordinance for them, and there He tested them,

26 And He said, "If you will diligently listen to the voice of 𐀉𐀄𐀅𐀄 (YAHUAH) Your ALUAH, and will do that which is right in His eyes, and will pay attention to His commandments, and keep all His statutes, I will put none of the diseases on you, which I have put on the Ma'tsara'ym, for I am 𐀉𐀄𐀅𐀄 (YAHUAH) who heals you."

27 And they came to Ayalam’ah,* where there were twelve springs of water, and seventy palm trees: and they encamped there by the waters.

*Note The Masoretic difference here compared to 16:1 below

CHAPTER 16

1 And they took their journey from Ayalam, and all the congregation of the children of Yashar'AL came to the wilderness of Sayan, which is between Ayalam and Sayan'ya, on the fifteenth day of the second month after to their departing out of the land of Ma'tsara'ym.

2 And all the congregation of the children of Yashar'AL murmured against Mashah and against A'haran in the wilderness,

3 and the children of Yashar'AL said to them, β€œIf only that we had died by the hand of 𐀉𐀄𐀅𐀄 (YAHUAH) in the land of Ma'tsara'ym, when we sat by the meat pots, when we ate our fill of bread, for you have brought us out into this wilderness, to kill this whole assembly with hunger."

4 And 𐀉𐀄𐀅𐀄 (YAHUAH) said to Mashah, "Behold, I will rain bread from the sky for you, and the people shall go out and gather a day's portion every day, that I may test them, whether they will walk in My Thur’ath or not.

5 And it shall come to pass on the sixth day, that they shall prepare that which they bring in, and it shall be twice as much as they gather daily."

6 And Mashah and A'haran said to all the children of Yashar'AL, "At evening, then you shall know that 𐀉𐀄𐀅𐀄 (YAHUAH) has brought you out from the land of Ma'tsara'ym,

7 And in the rising, then you shall see the esteem of 𐀉𐀄𐀅𐀄 (YAHUAH), because He hears your murmurings against 𐀉𐀄𐀅𐀄 (YAHUAH). Who are we, that you murmur against us?"

8 And Mashah said, "Now 𐀉𐀄𐀅𐀄 (YAHUAH) shall give you meat to eat in the evening, and in the rising bread to satisfy you, because 𐀉𐀄𐀅𐀄 (YAHUAH) hears your murmurings that you murmur against Him. And who are we? Your murmurings are not against us, but against 𐀉𐀄𐀅𐀄 (YAHUAH)."

9 And Mashah said to A'haran, "Tell all the congregation of the children of Yashar'AL, 'Come near before 𐀉𐀄𐀅𐀄 (YAHUAH), for He has heard your murmurings.'"

10 And it came to be, as A'haran spoke to the whole congregation of the children of Yashar'AL, that they looked toward the wilderness, and behold, the esteem of 𐀉𐀄𐀅𐀄 (YAHUAH) appeared in the cloud.

11 And 𐀉𐀄𐀅𐀄 (YAHUAH) spoke to Mashah saying,

12 "I have heard the murmurings of the children of Yashar'AL. Speak to them saying, 'At evening you shall eat meat, and in the rising you shall be filled with bread: And you shall know that I am 𐀉𐀄𐀅𐀄 (YAHUAH) Your ALUAH.'"

13 And it came to be at evening that quail came up and covered the camp, and in the rising the dew lay around the camp.

14 And when the dew that lay had gone, behold, on the surface of the wilderness was a small round substance, small as the frost on the ground.

15 And when the children of Yashar'AL saw it, they said one to another, "What is it?" For they did not know what it was. And Mashah said to them, "It is the bread which 𐀉𐀄𐀅𐀄 (YAHUAH) has given you to eat."

16 This is the Word that 𐀉𐀄𐀅𐀄 (YAHUAH) has commanded: "Gather of it everyone according to his eating, an amar (omer) a head, according to the number of your beings, you shall take it, every man for those who are in his tent."

17 And the children of Yashar'AL did so, and gathered some more, some less.

18 And when they measured it with an amar (omer), he who gathered much had nothing over, and he who gathered little had no lack. They gathered every man according to his eating.

19 And Mashah said to them, "Let no one leave of it until the rising."

20 And they did not listen to Mashah, but some of them left of it until the rising, and it bred worms, and became foul: and Mashah was angry with them.

21 And they gathered it rising by rising, everyone according to his eating. And when the sun grew hot, it melted.

22 And it came to be that on the sixth day they gathered twice as much bread, two of the amar (omer) for each one, and all the rulers of the congregation came and told Mashah.

23 And he said to them, "This is that what 𐀉𐀄𐀅𐀄 (YAHUAH) has spoken, 'Tomorrow is a solemn rest, a made apart Shabath to 𐀉𐀄𐀅𐀄 (YAHUAH). Bake that which you want to bake, and cook that which you want to cook, and all that remains over lay up for yourselves to be kept until the rising.'"

24 And they laid it up until the rising, as Mashah appointed, and it did not become foul, neither was there any worm in it.

25 And Mashah said, "Eat that today, for today is a Shabath to 𐀉𐀄𐀅𐀄 (YAHUAH). Today you shall not find it in the field.

26 Six days you shall gather it, but on the seventh day is the Shabath. In it there shall be none."

27 And it came to be on the seventh day, that some of the people went out to gather, and they found none.

28 And 𐀉𐀄𐀅𐀄 (YAHUAH) said to Mashah, "How long do you refuse to keep My commandments and My Thur’ath?

29 Behold, because 𐀉𐀄𐀅𐀄 (YAHUAH) has given you the Shabath, therefore He gives you on the sixth day the bread of two days. Everyone stay in his place. Let no one go out of his place on the seventh day."

30 So the people rested on the seventh day.

31 And the house of Yashar'AL called its name Mana, and it was like coriander seed, white, and its taste was like wafers with honey.

32 And Mashah said, "This is the Word that 𐀉𐀄𐀅𐀄 (YAHUAH) has commanded, 'Let an amar (omer)-full of it be kept throughout your generations, that they may see the bread with which I fed you in the wilderness, when I brought you forth from the land of Ma'tsara'ym.'"

33 And Mashah said to A'haran, "Take a pot, and put an amar (omer)-full of mana in it, and lay it up before 𐀉𐀄𐀅𐀄 (YAHUAH), to be kept throughout your generations."

34 As 𐀉𐀄𐀅𐀄 (YAHUAH) commanded Mashah, so A'haran laid it up before the Witness, to be kept.

35 And the children of Yashar'AL ate the mana forty years, until they came to an inhabited land. They ate the mana until they came to the borders of the land of Kanan.

36 Now an amar (omer) is the tenth part of a measure.

CHAPTER 17

1 And all the congregation of the children of Yashar'AL traveled from the wilderness of Sayan by their journeys, according to 𐀉𐀄𐀅𐀄 (YAHUAH)'s commandment, and encamped in Rapa'yada'ym, but there was no water for the people to drink.

2 Therefore the people quarreled with Mashah, and said, "Give us water to drink." And Mashah said to them, "Why do you quarrel with me? Why do you test 𐀉𐀄𐀅𐀄 (YAHUAH)?"

3 And the people thirsted for water there, and the people murmured against Mashah and said, "Why have you brought us up out of Ma'tsara'ym, to kill us, our children, and our livestock with thirst?"

4 And Mashah cried to 𐀉𐀄𐀅𐀄 (YAHUAH) saying, "What shall I do with these people? They are almost* ready to stone me."

*The literal translation of this would also be meat or portion

5 And 𐀉𐀄𐀅𐀄 (YAHUAH) said to Mashah, "Walk on before the people, and take the elders of Yashar'AL with you, and take the rod in your hand with which you struck the River and go.

6 Behold, I will stand before you there on the rock in Kharab. and you shall strike the rock, and water will come out of it, that the people may drink." And Mashah did so in the sight of the elders of Yashar'AL.

7 And he called the name of the place Masah and Mara’yabah, because the children of Yashar'AL quarreled, and because they tested 𐀉𐀄𐀅𐀄 (YAHUAH) saying, "Is 𐀉𐀄𐀅𐀄 (YAHUAH) among us or not?"

8 Then Amalaq came and fought with Yashar'AL in Rapa'yadam.*

*Note The Masoretic difference here from verse 1 above

9 And Mashah said to Yahusha, "Choose men for us and go out, fight with Amalaq. Tomorrow I will stand on the top of the hill with ALUAH's rod in my hand."

10 So Yahusha did as Mashah had told him, and fought with Amalaq, and Mashah, A'haran, and Khur went up to the top of the hill.

11And it came to be, when Mashah held up his hand, that Yashar'AL prevailed, and when he let down his hand, Amalaq prevailed.

12 But Mashah's hands were heavy, and they took a stone, and put it under him, and he sat on it. And A'haran and Khur supported his hands, the one on the one side, and the other on the other side.  And his hands were steady until sunset.

13 And Yahusha defeated Amalaq and his people with the edge of the sword.

14 And 𐀉𐀄𐀅𐀄 (YAHUAH) said to Mashah, "Write this for a memorial in a Book, and rehearse it in the ears of Yahusha: That I will utterly blot out the memory of Amalaq from under the sky."

15 And Mashah built an altar and called its name 𐀉𐀄𐀅𐀄 (YAHUAH) Nas’ya (My Banner).

16 And he said, β€œπ€‰π€„ (YAH) has sworn: '𐀉𐀄𐀅𐀄 (YAHUAH) will have war with Amalaq from generation to generation.'"

CHAPTER 18

1 Now Yathar'u (Yathar'oo), a ka’ahn (priest) of Mada'yan, Mashah’s father-in-law, heard of all that ALUAH had done for Mashah, and for Yashar'AL His people, how that 𐀉𐀄𐀅𐀄 (YAHUAH) had brought Yashar'AL out of Ma'tsara'ym.

2 And Yathar'u (Yathar'oo), Mashah’s father-in-law, received Tsa'parah, Mashah’s wife, after he had sent her away,

3 and her two sons. The name of one son was Gar'sham, for Mashah said, "I have abided as a foreigner in a foreign land".

4 And the name of the other was AL’azar, for he said, "My father's ALUAH was my help and rescued me from Para'ah's sword."

5 And Yathar'u (Yathar'oo), Mashah's father-in-law, came with his sons and his wife to Mashah into the wilderness where he was encamped, at the Mountain of ALUAH.

6 And he said to Mashah, "I, your father-in-law Yathar'u (Yathar'oo), have come to you with your wife, and her two sons with her."

7 And Mashah went out to meet his father-in-law, and bowed and kissed him. And they asked each other of their shalum (wellbeing), and they came into the tent.

8 And Mashah told his father-in-law all that 𐀉𐀄𐀅𐀄 (YAHUAH) had done to Para'ah and to the Ma'tsara'ym for Yashar'AL's sake, all the hardships that had come on them on the way, and how 𐀉𐀄𐀅𐀄 (YAHUAH) rescued them.

9 And Yathar'u (Yathar'oo) rejoiced for all the goodness that 𐀉𐀄𐀅𐀄 (YAHUAH) had done to Yashar'AL, in that He rescued them out of the hand of the Ma'tsara'ym.

10 And Yathar'u (Yathar'oo) said, "Baruk be 𐀉𐀄𐀅𐀄 (YAHUAH), who has rescued you out of the hand of the Ma'tsara'ym, and out of the hand of Para'ah, who has rescued the people from under the hand of the Ma'tsara'ym.

11 Now I know that 𐀉𐀄𐀅𐀄 (YAHUAH) is greater than all mighty ones because in Word that they dealt arrogantly against them."

12 And Yathar'u (Yathar'oo), Mashah's father-in-law, took a burnt offering and slaughterings for ALUAH. And β€˜Aharan came with all of the elders of Yashar'AL, to eat bread with Mashah's father-in-law before ALUAH.

13 And it came to be on the next day, that Mashah sat to judge the people, and the people stood around Mashah from the rising to the evening.

14 And when Mashah's father-in-law saw all that he did to the people, he said, "What is this, the word, that you do for the people? Why do you sit alone, and all the people stand around you from rising to evening?"

15 And Mashah said to his father-in-law, "Because the people come to me to inquire of ALUAH.

16 When they have a matter, they come to me, and I judge between a man and his neighbor, and I make them know the statutes of ALUAH, and His laws."

17 And Mashah's father-in-law said to him, "The matter that you do is not good.

18 You will surely wear away, both you, and this people that is with you, for the matter is too heavy for you. You are not able to perform it yourself alone.

19 Listen now to my voice. I will give you counsel, and ALUAH be with you. You are for the people before ALUAH, and bring the causes to ALUAH.

20 And you shall teach them the statutes and the Thur’ath, and shall show them the way in which they must walk, and the work that they must do.

21 Moreover you shall provide out of all the people able men, such as fear ALUAH: men of truth, hating unfair gain, and place such over them, to be rulers of thousands, rulers of hundreds, rulers of fifties, and rulers of tens.

22 And let them judge the people at all times. And it shall be that every great matter they shall bring to you, but every small matter they shall judge themselves. So shall it be easier for you, and they shall share the load with you.

23 If you will do this word, and ALUAH commands you so, then you will be able to endure, and all of these people also will go to their place in shalum (peace).”

24 So Mashah listened to the voice of his father-in-law and did all that he had said.

25 And Mashah chose able men out of all Yashar'AL, and made them heads over the people, rulers of thousands, rulers of hundreds, rulers of fifties, and rulers of tens.

26 And they judged the people at all times. They brought the hard causes to Mashah, but every small matter they judged themselves.

27 And Mashah let his father-in-law depart, and he went his way into his own land.

CHAPTER 19

1 In the third month after the children of Yashar'AL had gone forth out of the land of Ma'tsara'ym, on that same day they came into the wilderness of Sayan'ya.

2 And then they had departed from Rapa'yada'ym, and had come to the wilderness of Sayan'ya, they encamped in the wilderness, and there Yashar'AL encamped before the mountain.

3 And Mashah went up to ALUAH, and 𐀉𐀄𐀅𐀄 (YAHUAH) called to him out of the mountain saying, "This is what you shall tell the house of Ya'aqab, and tell the children of Yashar'AL:

4 'You have seen what I did to the Ma'tsara'ym, and how I bore you on eagles' wings, and brought you to myself.

5 Now therefore, if you will indeed obey My voice, and keep My Bar'yath (covenant), then you shall be My own possession from among all peoples, for all the earth is Mine,

6 And you shall be to Me a Reign of ka’ahn’ym (priests), and a made apart nation.' These are the Words that you shall speak to the children of Yashar'AL."

7 And Mashah came and called for the elders of the people, and placed before them all these Words that 𐀉𐀄𐀅𐀄 (YAHUAH) commanded him.

8 And all the people answered together and said, "All that 𐀉𐀄𐀅𐀄 (YAHUAH) has spoken we will do." And Mashah reported the words of the people to 𐀉𐀄𐀅𐀄 (YAHUAH).

9 And 𐀉𐀄𐀅𐀄 (YAHUAH) said to Mashah, "Behold, I come to you in a thick cloud, that the people may hear when I speak with you, and may also trust you forever." And Mashah told the Words of the people to 𐀉𐀄𐀅𐀄 (YAHUAH).

10 And 𐀉𐀄𐀅𐀄 (YAHUAH) said to Mashah, "Go to the people, and make apart them today and tomorrow, and let them wash their garments,

11 And be ready against the third day, for on the third day 𐀉𐀄𐀅𐀄 (YAHUAH) will come down in the sight of all the people on Mount Sayan'ya.

12 And you shall place bounds to the people all around saying, 'Be careful that you do not go up onto the mountain, or touch its border. Whoever touches the mountain shall be surely put to death.

13 No hand shall touch it, but he shall surely be stoned or shot through, whether it is beast or man, he shall not abide.' When the trumpet sounds long, they shall come up to the mountain."

14 And Mashah went down from the mountain to the people, and made apart the people, and they washed their clothes.

15 And he said to the people, "Be ready by the third day. Do not come near a wife.”

16 And it came to be on the third day, when it was rising, that there were thunders and lightnings, and a thick cloud on the mountain, and the sound of an exceedingly loud ram’s horn, and all the people who were in the camp trembled.

17 And Mashah led the people out of the camp to meet ALUAH, and they stood at the lower part of the mountain.

18 And Mount Sayan'ya, all it, smoked, because 𐀉𐀄𐀅𐀄 (YAHUAH) descended on it in fire, and its smoke ascended like the smoke of a furnace, and the whole mountain quaked greatly.

19 And when the sound of the ram’s horn grew louder and louder, Mashah spoke, and ALUAH answered him by a voice.

20 And 𐀉𐀄𐀅𐀄 (YAHUAH) came down on Mount Sayan'ya, onto the top of the mountain. And 𐀉𐀄𐀅𐀄 (YAHUAH) called Mashah to the top of the mountain, and Mashah went up.

21 And 𐀉𐀄𐀅𐀄 (YAHUAH) said to Mashah, "Go down, warn the people, lest they break through to 𐀉𐀄𐀅𐀄 (YAHUAH) to gaze, and many of them perish.

22 And let the ka’ahn’ym (priests) who come near to 𐀉𐀄𐀅𐀄 (YAHUAH) make apart themselves, lest 𐀉𐀄𐀅𐀄 (YAHUAH) break forth on them."

23 And Mashah said to 𐀉𐀄𐀅𐀄 (YAHUAH), "The people cannot come up to Mount Sayan'ya, for You warned us, saying, β€˜Place bounds around the mountain, and make apart it.'"

24 And 𐀉𐀄𐀅𐀄 (YAHUAH) said to him, "Go down and you shall bring A'haran up with you, but do not let the ka’ahn’ym (priests) and the people break through to come up to 𐀉𐀄𐀅𐀄 (YAHUAH), lest he break forth on them."

25 So Mashah went down to the people, and he told them.

CHAPTER 20

1 And ALUAH spoke all these Words saying:

2 "I AM 𐀉𐀄𐀅𐀄 (YAHUAH) Your ALUAH, who brought you out of the land of Ma'tsara'ym, out of the house of bondage.

3 "You shall have no other mighty ones before My face.

4 "You shall not make for yourselves a carved image, nor any image of anything that is in the shama'ym above, or that is in the earth beneath, or that is in the water under the earth:

5 You shall not bow yourself down to them, nor serve them, for I, 𐀉𐀄𐀅𐀄 (YAHUAH) Your ALUAH, am a jealous AL, visiting the iniquity of the fathers on the children, on the third and on the fourth generation of those who hate Me,

6 And showing loving kindness to thousands of those who love Me and keep My commandments.

7 "You shall not take The Name OF 𐀉𐀄𐀅𐀄 (YAHUAH) Your ALUAH in vain, for 𐀉𐀄𐀅𐀄 (YAHUAH) will not hold him guiltless who takes His Name in vain.

8 "Remember the Shabath day, to keep it made apart.

9 You shall labor six days, and do all your work,

10 But the seventh day is a Shabath To 𐀉𐀄𐀅𐀄 (YAHUAH) Your ALUAH. You shall not do any work in it, you, nor your son, nor your daughter, your male servant, nor your female servant, nor your livestock, nor your stranger who is within your gates,

11 For in six days 𐀉𐀄𐀅𐀄 (YAHUAH) made shama'ym and earth, the sea, and all that is in them, and rested the seventh day, therefore 𐀉𐀄𐀅𐀄 (YAHUAH) Barak the Shabath day, and made it apart.

12 β€œRespect your father and your mother, that your days may be long in the land that 𐀉𐀄𐀅𐀄 (YAHUAH) Your ALUAH gives you.

13 "You shall not murder.

14 "You shall not commit adultery.

15 "You shall not steal.

16 "You shall not bear false witness against your neighbor.

17 "You shall not covet your neighbor's house. You shall not covet your neighbor's wife, nor his male servant, nor his female servant, nor his ox, nor his donkey, nor anything that is your neighbor's."

18 And all the people perceived the thunderings, the lightnings, the sound of the ram’s horn, and the mountain smoking. And when the people saw it, they trembled and stayed at a distance.

19 And they said to Mashah, "Speak with us yourself, and we will listen, but donot let ALUAH speak with us, lest we die."

20 And Mashah said to the people, "Do not fear, for ALUAH has come to test you, and that His fear may be before you, that you will not transgress.”

21 And the people stayed at a distance, and Mashah drew near to the thick darkness where ALUAH was.

22 And 𐀉𐀄𐀅𐀄 (YAHUAH) said to Mashah, "This is what you shall tell the children of Yashar'AL: 'You yourselves have seen that I have talked with you from shama'ym.

23 You shall most certainly not make alongside of Me idols of silver, or idols of gold for yourselves.

24 You shall make an altar of earth for me, and shall slaughter on it your burnt offerings and your shalam’ym (peace) offerings, your sheep and your cattle. In every place where I record My Name I will come to you, and I will Barak you.

25 And if you make Me an altar of stone, you shall not build it of cut stones, for if you lift up your tool on it, you have polluted it.

26 Neither shall you go up by steps to My altar, that your nakedness may not be exposed on it.'

CHAPTER 21

1 β€œAnd these are the ordinances that you shall place before them.

2 "If you buy an Abara’ya servant, he shall serve six years and in the seventh he shall go out free without paying anything.

3 If he comes in by himself, he shall go out by himself. If he is married, then his wife shall go out with him.

4 If his sovereign gives him a wife and she bears him sons or daughters, the wife and her children shall be her sovereign’s, and he shall go out by himself.

5 But if the servant shall plainly say, 'I love my sovereign, my wife, and my children. I will not go out free,'

6 then his sovereign shall bring him to ALUAH, and shall bring him to the door or to the doorpost, and his sovereign shall bore his ear through with an awl, and he shall serve him for ever.

7 β€œAnd if a man sells his daughter to be a female servant, she shall not go out as the male servants do.

8 If she evil in the eyes of her sovereign, who has married her to himself, then he shall let her be redeemed. He shall have no right to sell her to a foreign people, since he has dealt deceitfully with her.

9 And if he betroths her to his son, he shall deal with her as a daughter.

10 If he takes another wife to himself, he shall not diminish her food, her clothing, and her marital rights.

11 And if he does not do these three for her, she may go free without paying any silver.

12 "One who strikes a man so that he dies shall surely be put to death,

13 But not if it is an ambush, but ALUAH allows it to happen: then I will appoint you a place where he shall flee.

14 If a man schemes and comes presumptuously on his neighbor to kill him, you shall take him from My altar, that he may die.

15 "And anyone who attacks his father or his mother shall be surely put to death.

16 "And anyone who kidnaps someone and sells him, or if he is found in his hand, he shall surely be put to death.

17 "And anyone who curses his father or his mother shall surely be put to death.

18 β€œAnd if men quarrel and one strikes the other with a stone, or with his fist, and he does not die, but is confined to bed,

19 If he rises again and walks around with his staff, then he who struck him shall be cleared: only he shall pay for the loss of his time, and shall provide for his healing until he is thoroughly healed.

20 "And if a man strikes his servant or his maid with a rod, and he dies under his hand, he shall surely be punished.

21 But if he gets up after a day or two, he shall not be punished, for he is his property.

22 β€œAnd if men fight and hurt a pregnant woman so that she gives birth, and yet no harm follows, he shall be surely fined as much as the woman's husband demands and the judges allow.

23 But if any harm follows, then you must take being for being,

24 eye for eye, tooth for tooth, hand for hand, foot for foot,

25 burning for burning, wound for wound, and bruise for bruise.

26 β€œAnd if a man strikes his servant's eye, or his maid's eye, and destroys it, he shall let him go free for his eye's sake.

27 And if he strikes out his male servant's tooth, or his female servant's tooth, he shall let him go free for his tooth's sake.

28 β€œAnd if a bull gores a man or a woman to death, the bull shall surely be stoned, and its flesh shall not be eaten, but the owner of the bull shall not be held responsible.

29 But if the bull had a habit of goring in the past, and it has been witnessed to its owner, and he has not kept it in, but it has killed a man or a woman, the bull shall be stoned, and its owner shall also be put to death.

30 If a ransom is laid on him, then he shall give for the redemption of his being all that is laid on him.

31 Whether it has gored a son or has gored a daughter, according to this judgment it shall be done to him.

32 If the bull gores a male servant or a female servant, thirty shaqal'ym of silver shall be given to their sovereign, and the ox shall be stoned.

33 ”And if a man opens a pit, or if a man digs a pit and does not cover it, and a bull or a donkey falls into it,

34 the owner of the pit shall make amends. He shall give silver to its owner, and the dead beast shall be his.

35 β€œAnd if one man's bull injures another, so that it dies, then they shall sell the living bull, and divide its price, and they shall also divide the dead beast.

36 Or if it is known that the bull was in the habit of goring in the past, and its owner has not kept it in, he shall surely pay bull for bull, and the dead beast shall be his own.

CHAPTER 22

1 "If a man steals an ox or a sheep, and kills it, or sells it, he shall pay five oxen for an ox, and four sheep for a sheep.

2 If the thief is found breaking in, and is struck so that he dies, there shall be no guilt of bloodshed for him.

3 If the sun has risen on him, guilt of bloodshed shall be for him, he shall make restitution. If he has nothing, then he shall be sold for his theft.

4 If the stolen property is found in his hand living, whether it is ox, donkey, or sheep, he shall pay double.

5 "If a man causes a field or vineyard to be eaten, and lets his beast loose, and it grazes in another man's field, he shall make restitution from the best of his own field, and from the best of his own vineyard.

6 "If fire breaks out, and catches in thorns so that the shocks of grain, or the standing grain, or the field are consumed, he who kindled the fire shall surely make restitution.

7 "If a man gives to his neighbor silver or articles to keep, and it is stolen out of the man's house, if the thief is found, he shall pay double.

8 If the thief is not found, then the sovereign of the house shall come near to ALUAH, to find out if he has not put his hand to his neighbor's goods.

9 For every matter of trespass, whether it be for ox, for donkey, for sheep, for clothing, or for any of what is lost, about which one says, 'This is mine,' the cause of both parties shall come before ALUAH. He whom ALUAH condemns shall pay double to his neighbor.

10 "If a man gives to his neighbor a donkey, an ox, a sheep, or any beast to keep, and it dies or is injured, or driven away, no man seeing it,

11 the oath of 𐀉𐀄𐀅𐀄 (YAHUAH) shall be between them both, whether he has not put his hand to his neighbor's goods, and its owner shall accept it, and he shall not make restitution.

12 But if it is stolen from him, he shall make restitution to its owner.

13 If it is torn in pieces, let him bring it for evidence. He shall not make good that what was torn.

14 "If a man borrows anything of his neighbor's, and it is injured, or dies, its owner not being with it, he shall surely make restitution.

15 If its owner is with it, he shall not make it good. If it is hired, it came for its hire.

16 β€œAnd if a man entices a virgin who is not pledged to be married, and lies with her, he shall surely pay a dowry for her to be his wife.

17 If her father utterly refuses to give her to him, he shall pay silver according to the dowry of virgins.

18 "You shall not allow a sorcerer to khaYah (live).

19 "Whoever lies with a beast shall surely die, be put to death.

20" He who slaughters to any mighty one, except to 𐀉𐀄𐀅𐀄 (YAHUAH) only, shall be utterly destroyed.

21 "You shall not wrong an sojourner, neither shall you oppress him, for you were sojourners in the land of Ma'tsara'ym.

22 "You shall not afflict any widow or fatherless child.

23 If you afflict of them at all, and they cry at all to me, I will surely hear their cry,

24 and My wrath will grow hot, and I will kill you with the sword, and your wives shall be widows, and your children fatherless.

25 "If you lend silver to any of My people with you who is poor, you shall not be to him as a creditor, neither shall you charge him interest.

26 If you pledge, take your neighbor's garment, you shall restore it to him before the sun goes down,

27 For that is his only covering, it is his garment for his skin. What would he sleep in? And it will be, when he cries to Me, that I will hear, for I am favorful.

28 "You shall not blaspheme ALUAH, nor curse a ruler of your people.

29 "You shall not delay to offer from your harvest and from the outflow of your presses. "You shall give the firstborn of your sons to Me.

30 You shall do also with your cattle and with your sheep. Seven days it shall be with its mother, then on the eighth day you shall give it to Me.

31 "You shall be made apart men to Me, therefore you shall not eat any flesh that is torn by beasts in the field. You shall cast it to the dogs.

CHAPTER 23

1 "You shall not spread a false report. Do not join your hand with the wicked to be a malicious witness.

2 "You shall not follow a crowd to do evil, neither shall you witness in a dispute to side with a multitude to turn aside after many who turn aside,

3 Neither shall you favor a poor man in his cause.

4 "If you meet your enemy's ox or his donkey going astray, you shall surely bring it back to him again.

5 If you see the donkey of him who hates you fallen down under his burden, do not leave him, you shall surely help him with it.

6 "You shall not deny right ruling to your poor in his dispute.

7 "Keep far from a false charge, and do not kill the innocent and righteous: For I will not declare right the wicked.

8 "You shall take no bribe, for a bribe blinds those who have sight and perverts the words of the righteous.

9 β€œAnd you shall not oppress a sojourner, for you know the heart of an sojourner, since you were sojourners in the land of Ma'tsara'ym.

10 "For six years you shall sow your land, and shall gather in its increase,

11 But the seventh year you shall let it rest and leave it, that the poor of your people may eat, and what they leave the beast of the field shall eat. In the same way, you shall deal with your vineyard and with your olive grove.

12 "Six days you shall do your work, and on the seventh day you shall rest, that your ox and your donkey may have rest, and the son of your handmaid, and the sojourner may be refreshed.

13 β€œAnd be careful to do all that I have said to you, and do not invoke the name of other idols, neither let them be heard out of your mouth.

14 "You shall observe a festival to Me three times a year.

15 You shall observe the feast of unleavened bread. Seven days you shall eat unleavened bread, as I commanded you, at the time appointed in the month Ab'yab, for in it you came out from Ma'tsara'ym, and no one shall appear before Me empty.

16 And the festival of harvest, the first fruits of your labors that you sow in the field: and the festival of ingathering at the outgoing of the year, when you gather in your labors out of the field.

17 Three times in the year all your males shall appear before The Sovereign 𐀉𐀄𐀅𐀄 (YAHUAH).

18 "You shall not offer the blood of My slaughtering with leavened bread, neither shall the fat of My festival remain all night until the rising.

19 The first of the first fruits of your ground you shall bring into the house of 𐀉𐀄𐀅𐀄 (YAHUAH) Your ALUAH. "You shall not cook a young goat in its mother's milk.

20 "Behold, I send a Malak before you, to keep you by the way, and to bring you into the place that I have prepared.

21 Pay attention to Him, and obey His voice. Do not provoke Him, for He will not pardon your disobedience, for My Name is in Him.

22 But if you indeed listen to His voice, and do all that I speak, then I will be an enemy to your enemies, and an adversary to your adversaries.

23 For My messenger shall go before you, and bring you in to the Amar'ya, the Khath'ya, the Paraz'ya, the Kanan'ya, the Khu'ya, and the Yabus'ya, and I will cut them off.

24 You shall not bow down to their idols, nor serve them, nor follow their practices, but you shall utterly overthrow them and demolish their columns.

25 And you shall serve 𐀉𐀄𐀅𐀄 (YAHUAH) Your ALUAH, and he will Barak your bread and your water, and I will take sickness away from your midst.

26 No one will miscarry or be barren in your land. I will fulfill the number of your days.

27 I will send My terror before you, and I will confuse all the people to whom you come, and I will make all your enemies turn their backs to you.

28 And I will send the hornet before you, which will drive out the Khu'ya, the Kanan'ya, and the Khath'ya, from before you.

29 I will not drive them out from before you in one year, lest the land become desolate, and the beasts of the field multiply against you.

30 Little by little I will drive them out from before you, until you have increased and inherit the land.

31 And I will place your border from the sea of reeds even to the sea of the Palash'tha'ym, and from the wilderness to the River, for I will give the inhabitants of the land into your hand, and you shall drive them out before you.

32 You shall make no Bar'yath (covenant) with them, nor with their idols.

33 They shall not abide in your land, lest they make you transgress against Me, for if you serve their idols, it will surely be a snare to you."

CHAPTER 24

1 And He said to Mashah, "Come up to 𐀉𐀄𐀅𐀄 (YAHUAH): You, and A'haran, Nadab, and Ab’Yahu’a, and seventy of the elders of Yashar'AL, and worship from a distance.

2 But Mashah alone shall come near to 𐀉𐀄𐀅𐀄 (YAHUAH), but they shall not come near, neither shall the people go up with him."

3 And Mashah came and told the people all the Words of 𐀉𐀄𐀅𐀄 (YAHUAH), and all the ordinances, and all the people answered with one voice and said, "All the words which 𐀉𐀄𐀅𐀄 (YAHUAH) has spoken will we do."

4 And Mashah wrote all the Words of 𐀉𐀄𐀅𐀄 (YAHUAH), and rose up early in the rising, and built an altar under the mountain, and twelve columns for the twelve tribes of Yashar'AL.

5 And he sent young men of the children of Yashar'AL, who offered burnt offerings and slaughtered shalam’ym (peace) offerings of cattle to 𐀉𐀄𐀅𐀄 (YAHUAH).

6 And Mashah took half of the blood and put it in basins, and half of the blood he sprinkled on the altar.

7 And he took the book of the Bar'yath (covenant) and read it in the hearing of the people, and they said, "All that 𐀉𐀄𐀅𐀄 (YAHUAH) has spoken will we do and obey.”

8 And Mashah took the blood, and sprinkled it on the people and said, "Look, this is the blood of the Bar'yath (covenant) That 𐀉𐀄𐀅𐀄 (YAHUAH) has made with you concerning all these words."

9 Then Mashah, A'haran, Nadab, Ab’Yahu’a, and seventy of the elders of Yashar'AL went up.

10 And they saw the ALUAH of Yashar'AL. And under His feet was like a paved work of sapphire stone, like the skies for clearness.

11 And He did not lay His hand on the nobles of the children of Yashar'AL. And they saw ALUAH, and ate and drank.

12 And 𐀉𐀄𐀅𐀄 (YAHUAH) said to Mashah, "Come up to Me on the mountain and stay here, and I will give you the tables of stone, and the Thurah, and the commands that I have written, that you may teach them."

13 And Mashah rose up with Yahusha, his servant, and Mashah went up onto The Mountain OF ALUAH.

14 And he said to the elders, "Wait here for us, until we come again to you. Behold, A'haran and Khur are with you. Whoever has matters can go to them."

15 And Mashah went up on the mountain, and the cloud covered the mountain.

16 And the esteem of 𐀉𐀄𐀅𐀄 (YAHUAH) abided on Mount Sayan'ya, and the cloud covered it six days. And on the seventh day He called to Mashah out of the midst of the cloud.

17 And the appearance of the Esteem of 𐀉𐀄𐀅𐀄 (YAHUAH) was like devouring fire on the top of the mountain in the eyes of the children of Yashar'AL.

36 And every day you shall offer the bull of transgression offering for atonement: and you shall cleanse the altar, when you make atonement for it, and you shall anoint it, to make apart it.

37 Seven days you shall make atonement for the altar, and make apart it: and the altar shall be most made apart, whatever touches the altar shall be made apart.

38 "Now this is that which you shall offer on the altar: two lambs a year old day by day continually.

39 The one lamb you shall offer in the rising, and the other lamb you shall offer at evening:

40 and with the one lamb a tenth part of a measure of fine flour mixed with the fourth part of a hin of beaten oil, and the fourth part of a hin of wine for a drink offering.

41 And the other lamb you shall offer at evening, and shall do to it according to the meal offering of the rising, and according to its drink offering, for a pleasant aroma, an offering made by fire to 𐀉𐀄𐀅𐀄 (YAHUAH),

42 A continual burnt offering throughout your generations at the door of the Tent of Meeting before 𐀉𐀄𐀅𐀄 (YAHUAH), where I will meet with you, to speak there to you.

43 And there I will meet with the children of Yashar'AL, and the place shall be made apart by My Esteem.

44 And I will make apart the Tent of Meeting and the altar: A'haran also and his sons I will make apart, to serve to Me in the ka'ahn (priest's) office.

45 And I will abide among the children of Yashar'AL, and will be their ALUAH.

46 And they shall know that I AM 𐀉𐀄𐀅𐀄 (YAHUAH) Their ALUAH, who brought them forth out of the land of Ma'tsara'ym, that I abide in their midst: I AM 𐀉𐀄𐀅𐀄 (YAHUAH) Their ALUAH.

CHAPTER 30

1 β€œAnd you shall make an altar to burn incense on. You shall make it of acacia wood.

2 Its length shall be a cubit, and its breadth a cubit. It shall be square, and its height shall be two cubits. Its horns shall be of one piece with it.

3 And you shall overlay it with pure gold, its top, its sides around it, and its horns, and you shall make a gold molding around it.

4 And you shall make two golden rings for it under its molding, on its two ribs, on its two sides you shall make them, and they shall be for places for poles with which to bear it.

5 And you shall make the poles of acacia wood, and overlay them with gold.

6 And you shall put it before the veil that is by the ark of the Witness, before the atonement cover that is over the Witness, where I will meet with you.

7 And A'haran shall burn incense of sweet incense on it, by rising by rising. When he makes good the lamps, he shall burn it.

8 And when A'haran lights the lamps at evening, he shall burn it, a perpetual incense before 𐀉𐀄𐀅𐀄 (YAHUAH) throughout your generations.

9 You shall offer no strange incense on it, nor burnt offering, nor meal offering, and you shall pour no drink offering on it.

10 And A'haran shall make atonement on its horns once in the year, with the blood of the transgression offering of atonement once in the year he shall make atonement for it throughout your generations. It is most made apart to 𐀉𐀄𐀅𐀄 (YAHUAH)."

11 And 𐀉𐀄𐀅𐀄 (YAHUAH) spoke to Mashah saying,

12 "When you take a head of the children of Yashar'AL, according to those who are appointed among them, then each man shall give a ransom for his being to 𐀉𐀄𐀅𐀄 (YAHUAH), when you appoint them, that there be no plague among them when you appoint them.

13 They shall give this, everyone who passes over to those who are appointed, half the shaqal after the shaqal of the Made Apart Place, the shaqal is twenty garah, half a shaqal for an offering to 𐀉𐀄𐀅𐀄 (YAHUAH).

14 Everyone who passes over to those who are appointed, from twenty years old and upward, shall give the offering to 𐀉𐀄𐀅𐀄 (YAHUAH).

15 The rich shall not give more, and the poor shall not give less, than the half shaqal, when they give the offering of 𐀉𐀄𐀅𐀄 (YAHUAH), to make atonement for your beings.

16 And you shall take the atonement silver from the children of Yashar'AL, and shall appoint it for the service of the Tent of Meeting, that it may be a memorial for the children of Yashar'AL before 𐀉𐀄𐀅𐀄 (YAHUAH), to make atonement for your beings."

17 And 𐀉𐀄𐀅𐀄 (YAHUAH) spoke to Mashah saying,

18 β€œAnd you shall make a basin of bronze, and its base of bronze, in which to wash. And you shall put it between the Tent of Meeting and the altar, and you shall put water in it.

19 And A'haran and his sons shall wash their hands and their feet in it.

20 When they go into the Tent of Meeting, they shall wash with water, that they not die, or when they come near to the altar to witness, to burn an offering made by fire to 𐀉𐀄𐀅𐀄 (YAHUAH).

21 And they shall wash their hands and their feet, that they not die: And it shall be a statute forever to them, even to him and to his descendants throughout their generations."

22 And 𐀉𐀄𐀅𐀄 (YAHUAH) spoke to Mashah saying,

23 "And you take for yourself chief spices: of liquid myrrh, five hundred shaqal'ym, and of fragrant cinnamon half as much, even two hundred and fifty, and of fragrant cane, two hundred and fifty,

24 and of cassia five hundred, after the shaqal of the Made Apart Place, and a hin of olive oil.

25 And you shall make it a made apart anointing oil, a perfume compounded after the art of the perfumer: it shall be a made apart anointing oil.

26 And you shall use it to anoint the Tent of Meeting, the ark of the Witness,

27 And the table and all its articles, the lampstand and its accessories, the altar of incense,

28 And the altar of burnt offering with all its utensils, and the basin with its base.

29 And you shall make apart them, that they may be most made apart. Whatever touches them shall be made apart.

30 And you shall anoint A'haran and his sons, and make apart them, that they may serve to Me in the ka'ahn (priest's) office.

31 And you shall speak to the children of Yashar'AL saying, 'This shall be a made apart anointing oil to Me throughout your generations.

32 It shall not be poured on man's flesh, neither shall you make any like it according to its composition: It is made apart. It shall be made apart to you.

33 Whoever compounds any like it, or whoever puts any of it on a stranger, he shall be cut off from his people.'"

34 And 𐀉𐀄𐀅𐀄 (YAHUAH) said to Mashah, "Take to yourself sweet incense, gum resin, and onycha, and galbanum, sweet incense with pure frankincense: of each shall there be an equal weight,

35 And you shall make incense of it, a perfume after the art of the perfumer, seasoned with salt, pure and made apart:

36 And you shall beat some of it very small, and put some of it before the Witness in the Tent of Meeting, where I will meet with you. It shall be to you most made apart.

37 And the incense which you shall make according to its composition, you shall not make for yourselves: It shall be to you made apart for 𐀉𐀄𐀅𐀄 (YAHUAH).

38 A man who makes any like it, to smell of it, he shall be cut off from his people."

CHAPTER 31

1 And 𐀉𐀄𐀅𐀄 (YAHUAH) spoke to Mashah saying,

2 "Behold, I have called by name Batsal'AL son of Aura’ya, son of Khur, of the tribe of Yahudah:

3 And I have filled him with THE RUKH OF ALUAH, in discernment, and in understanding, and in knowledge, and in all work,

4 to devise skillful works, to work in gold, and in silver, and in bronze,

5 and in cutting of stones for setting, and in carving of wood, to work in all work.

6 And I, behold, I have appointed with him Ahal'ya'ab, son of Akh'ya'samak, of the tribe of Dan, and in the heart of all who are discerned hearted I have put discernment, that they may make all that I have commanded you:

7 The Tent of Meeting, the ark of the Witness, the atonement cover that is on it, all the utensils of the Tent,

8 And the table and its vessels, the pure lampstand with all its vessels, the altar of incense,

9 And the altar of burnt offering with all its vessels, the basin and its base,

10 And the finely worked garmentsβ€”the made apart garments for A'haran the ka’ahn (priest)β€”the garments of his sons to witness in the ka'ahn (priest's) office,

11 And the anointing oil, and the incense of sweet incense for the made apart place: According to all that I have commanded you they shall do."

12 And 𐀉𐀄𐀅𐀄 (YAHUAH) spoke to Mashah saying,

13 β€œAnd you, speak to the children of Yashar'AL saying, 'Most certainly you shall keep my Shabath’tha’ya: for it is a Sign between me and you throughout your generations, that you may know that I am 𐀉𐀄𐀅𐀄 (YAHUAH) who makes you apart.

14 And you shall guard the Shabath therefore, for it is made apart to you. Any who profanes it shall surely be put to death, for whoever does any work therein, that being shall be cut off from among his people.

15 Six days shall work be done, but on the seventh day is a Shabath of rest, made apart to 𐀉𐀄𐀅𐀄 (YAHUAH). All who works on the Shabath day shall surely be put to death.

16 Therefore the children of Yashar'AL shall keep the Shabath, to observe the Shabath throughout their generations, for a perpetual Bar'yath (covenant).

17 It is a Sign between me and the children of Yashar'AL forever, for in six days 𐀉𐀄𐀅𐀄 (YAHUAH) made shama'ym and earth, and on the seventh day He rested and was refreshed.'"

18 And He gave to Mashah when He finished speaking with him on Mount Sayan'ya, the two tablets of the witness, stone tablets, written with the Finger OF ALUAH.

CHAPTER 32

1 And when the people saw that Mashah delayed to come down from the mountain, the people gathered themselves together to A'haran and said to him, "Come, make us idols, which shall go before us, for as for this Mashah, the man who brought us up out of the land of Ma'tsara'ym, we do not know what has become of him."

2 And A'haran said to them, "Take off the golden rings, which are in the ears of your wives, of your sons, and of your daughters, and bring them to me."

3 And all the people took off the golden rings which were in their ears and brought them to A'haran.

4 And he received what they handed him, and fashioned it with an engraving tool, and made it a molten calf, and they said: "These are your idols, O Yashar'AL, that brought you up out of the land of Ma'tsara'ym."

5 And when A'haran saw this, he built an altar before it, and A'haran made a proclamation and said, "Tomorrow shall be a Festival to 𐀉𐀄𐀅𐀄 (YAHUAH)."

6 And they rose up early on the next day and offered burnt offerings, and brought shalam’ym (peace) offerings, and the people sat down to eat and to drink, and rose up to play.

7 And 𐀉𐀄𐀅𐀄 (YAHUAH) spoke to Mashah, "Go, get down! For your people who you brought up out of the land of Ma'tsara'ym have corrupted themselves!

8 They have turned aside quickly out of the way that I commanded them. They have made themselves a molten calf, and have worshiped it, and have slaughtered to it and said, 'These are your idols, O Yashar'AL, that brought you up out of the land of Ma'tsara'ym.'"

9 And 𐀉𐀄𐀅𐀄 (YAHUAH) said to Mashah, "I have seen these people, and behold, they are a stiff necked people.

10 Now therefore leave Me alone that My wrath may burn hot against them, and that I may consume them, and I will make of you a great nation."

11 And Mashah begged 𐀉𐀄𐀅𐀄 (YAHUAH) His ALUAH and said, " O 𐀉𐀄𐀅𐀄 (YAHUAH), why does Your wrath burn hot against Your people, that You have brought forth out of the land of Ma'tsara'ym with great power and with a mighty hand?

12 Why should the Ma'tsara'ym speak saying, 'He brought them forth for evil, to kill them in the mountains, and to consume them from the surface of the earth?' Turn from Your fierce wrath and repent of this evil against Your people.

13 Remember Abara'ahm, Ya'tsakhaq, and Yashar'AL, Your servants, to whom You swore by Your own self, and said to them, 'I will multiply your seed as the stars of the sky, and all this land that I have spoken of I will give to your seed, and they shall inherit it forever.'"

14 And 𐀉𐀄𐀅𐀄 (YAHUAH) relented of the evil that He said He would do to His people.

15 And Mashah turned, and went down from the mountain, with the two tablets of the witness in his hand, tablets that were written on both their sides, on the one side and on the other they were written.

16 And the tablets were the work of ALUAH, and the writing was the writing of ALUAH, engraved on the tables.

17 And when Yahusha heard the noise of the people as they shouted, he said to Mashah, "There is the noise of war in the camp."

18 And he said, "It is not the voice of those who shout for might, neither is it the voice of those who cry for being overcome, but the noise of those who sing that I hear."

19 And it came to be, as soon as he came near to the camp, that he saw the calf and the dancing: and Mashah's anger grew hot, and he threw the tablets out of his hands, and broke them beneath the mountain.

20 And he took the calf which they had made, and burnt it with fire, ground it to powder, and scattered it on the water, and made the children of Yashar'AL drink of it.

21 And Mashah said to A'haran, "What did these people do to you, that you have brought a great transgression on them?"

22 And A'haran said, "Do not let the anger of my Sovereign grow hot. You know the people, that they are placed on evil.

23 For they said to me, 'Make us idols that shall go before us, for as for this Mashah, the man who brought us up out of the land of Ma'tsara'ym, we do not know what has become of him.'

24 And I said to them, 'Whoever has any gold, let them take it off:' so they gave it to me, and I threw it into the fire, and out came this calf."

25 And when Mashah saw that the people had broken loose, for A'haran had let them loose for a shame among their enemies,

26 Then Mashah stood in the gate of the camp and said, "Whoever is for 𐀉𐀄𐀅𐀄 (YAHUAH), come to me!" And all sons of Lu'ya (Loo'ya) gathered themselves together to him.

27 And he said to them, "Thus says 𐀉𐀄𐀅𐀄 (YAHUAH), The ALUAH OF Yashar'AL, 'Every man put his sword on his thigh, and go back and forth from gate to gate throughout the camp, and every man kill his brother, and every man his companion, and every man his neighbor.'"

28 And sons of Lu'ya (Loo'ya) did according to the word of Mashah: And there fell of the people that day about three thousand men.

29 And Mashah said, β€œFill yourselves today to 𐀉𐀄𐀅𐀄 (YAHUAH), for every man against his son, and against his brother, that he may bestow on you a Barakah this day."

30 And it came to be on the next day, that Mashah said to the people, "You have transgressed a great transgression. Now I will go up to 𐀉𐀄𐀅𐀄 (YAHUAH). Perhaps I shall make atonement for your transgression."

31 And Mashah returned to 𐀉𐀄𐀅𐀄 (YAHUAH) and said, "Oh, this people have transgressed a great transgression, and have made themselves idols of gold.

32 And now, if You will pardon their transgressionβ€”and if not, please blot me out of Your Book that You have written."

33 And 𐀉𐀄𐀅𐀄 (YAHUAH) said to Mashah, "Whoever has transgressed against Me, him will I blot out of My Book.

34 Now go, lead the people to the place of what I have spoken to you. Behold, My Malak shall go before you. Nevertheless in the day when I punish, I will punish them for their transgression."

35 And 𐀉𐀄𐀅𐀄 (YAHUAH) struck the people, because they made the calf that A'haran made.

CHAPTER 33

1 And 𐀉𐀄𐀅𐀄 (YAHUAH) spoke to Mashah, "Depart, go up from here, you and the people that you have brought up out of the land of Ma'tsara'ym, to the land of that I swore to Abara'ahm, to Ya'tsakhaq, and to Ya'aqab saying, 'I will give it to your seed.'

2 And I will send a Malak before you, and I will drive out the Kanan'ya, the Amar'ya, and the Khath'ya, and the Paraz'ya, the Khu'ya, and the Yabus'ya:

3 to a land flowing with milk and honey: for I will not go up in the midst of you, for you are a stiff necked people, lest I consume you in the way."

4 When the people heard this evil news, they mourned: and no one put on his jewelry.

5 And 𐀉𐀄𐀅𐀄 (YAHUAH) said to Mashah, "Tell the children of Yashar'AL, 'You are a stiff necked people. If I were to go up into your midst for one moment, I would consume you. Therefore now take off your jewelry from you, that I may know what to do to you.'"

6 And the children of Yashar'AL stripped themselves of their jewelry from Mount Khu’rab (Khoo’rab)* onward.

*Note The Masoretic difference from Sham’uth/Exodus 3:1, 17:6

7 Now Mashah took the tent and pitched it outside the camp, far away from the camp, and he called it "The Tent of Meeting." And it came to be that everyone who sought 𐀉𐀄𐀅𐀄 (YAHUAH) went out to the Tent of Meeting that was outside the camp.

8 And it came to be that when Mashah went out to the Tent, that all the people rose up and stood, everyone at their tent door, and watched Mashah, until he had gone into the Tent.

9 And it came to be, when Mashah entered into the Tent, that the column of cloud descended, stood at the door of the Tent, and spoke with Mashah.

10 And all the people saw the column of cloud stand at the door of the Tent, and all the people rose up and worshiped, everyone at their tent door.

11 And 𐀉𐀄𐀅𐀄 (YAHUAH) spoke to Mashah face to face, as a man speaks to his friend. And he turned again into the camp, but his servant Yahusha, son of Nun, a young man, did not depart out of the Tent.

12 And Mashah said to 𐀉𐀄𐀅𐀄 (YAHUAH), "Behold, You tell me, 'Bring up this people:' and You have not let me know whom You will send with me. Yet You have said, 'I know you by name, and you have also found favor in My sight.'

13 Now therefore, if I have found favor in Your sight, please show me now Your ways, that I may know You, so that I may find favor in Your sight: and consider that this nation is Your people."

14 And He said, "My Face will go with you, and I will give you rest."

15 And he said to Him, "If Your Face does not go with me, do not lead us up from here.

16 For how would it be known that I have found favor in your sight, I and Your people? Is it not in that You go with us, so that we are separated, I and your people, from all the people who are on the surface of the earth?"

17 And 𐀉𐀄𐀅𐀄 (YAHUAH) said to Mashah, "I will do this, the word, also that you have spoken, for you have found favor in My sight, and I know you by name."

18 Then he said, "Please show me Your Esteem."

19 And He said, "I will make all my goodness pass before you, and will proclaim the name of 𐀉𐀄𐀅𐀄 (YAHUAH) before you. And I will show favor to whom I will show favor, and will show compassionate on whom I will show compassion.”

20 And He said, "You cannot see My Face, for man may not see Me and abide."

21 And 𐀉𐀄𐀅𐀄 (YAHUAH) said, "Behold, there is a place by Me, and you shall stand on the rock.

22 And it will be, while My Esteem passes by, that I will put you in a cleft of the rock, and will cover you with My hand until I have passed by,

23 Then I will take away My hand, and you will see My back, but My Face shall not be seen."

CHAPTER 34

1 And 𐀉𐀄𐀅𐀄 (YAHUAH) said to Mashah, "Chisel two stone tablets like the first: And I will write on the tablets the words that were on the first tablets that you broke.

2 And be ready by the rising, and come up in the rising to Mount Sayan'ya, and establish yourself there to Me on the top of the mountain.

3 And no one shall come up with you, neither let anyone be seen throughout all the mountain, neither let the flocks nor herds feed before that mountain."

4 And he chiseled two tablets of stone like the first, and Mashah rose up early in the rising, and went up to Mount Sayan'ya as 𐀉𐀄𐀅𐀄 (YAHUAH) had commanded him, and took in his hand two stone tablets.

5 And 𐀉𐀄𐀅𐀄 (YAHUAH) descended in the cloud, and stood with him there, and proclaimed The Name OF 𐀉𐀄𐀅𐀄 (YAHUAH).

6 And 𐀉𐀄𐀅𐀄 (YAHUAH) passed by before his face and proclaimed, β€œπ€‰π€„π€…π€„ (YAHUAH)! 𐀉𐀄𐀅𐀄 (YAHUAH), a compassionate and favorful AL, slow to anger, and abundant in loving kindness and truth,

7 Keeping loving kindness for thousands, forgiving iniquity and disobedience and transgression, and that will by no means clear the guilty, visiting the iniquity of the fathers on the children, and on the children's children, on the third and on the fourth generation."

8 And Mashah hurried and bowed his head toward the earth, and worshiped.

9 And he said, "If now I have found favor in your sight, O Sovereign, please let The Sovereign go in the midst of us, although this is a stiff necked people, pardon our iniquity and our transgression, and take us for your inheritance."

10 And He said, "Behold, I make a Bar'yath (covenant): Before all your people I will do marvels, such as have not been worked in all the earth, nor in any nation, and all the people among which you are shall see the work of 𐀉𐀄𐀅𐀄 (YAHUAH), for it is awesome that I do with you.

11 Observe that which I command you this day. Behold, I drive out before you the Amar'ya, the Kanan'ya, the Khath'ya, the Paraz'ya, the Khu'ya, and the Yabus'ya.

12 Be careful, lest you make a Bar'yath (covenant) with the inhabitants of the land where you are going, lest it be for a snare in the midst of you:

13 But you shall break down their altars, and dash in pieces their columns, and you shall cut down their ashar’ym,

14 For you shall worship to no other mighty one: For 𐀉𐀄𐀅𐀄 (YAHUAH), whose Name is Jealous, is a jealous AL.

15 "Do not make a Bar'yath (covenant) with the inhabitants of the land, lest they whore after their idols, and slaughter to their idols, and one call you and you eat of his slaughtering,

16 and you take of their daughters to your sons, and their daughters whore after their idols, and make your sons whore after their idols.

17 "You shall make no cast idols for yourselves.

18 "You shall keep the festival of unleavened bread. Seven days you shall eat unleavened bread, as I commanded you, at the time appointed in the month Ab'yab, for in the month Ab'yab you came out from Ma'tsara'ym.

19 "All that opens the womb is Mine, and all your livestock that is male, the firstborn of cow and sheep.

20 But the firstborn of a donkey you shall redeem with a lamb: and if you will not redeem it, then you shall break its neck. All the firstborn of your sons you shall redeem. And no one shall appear before My Face empty.

21 "Six days you shall work, but on the seventh day you shall rest: In plowing time and in harvest you shall rest.

22 β€œAnd you shall observe the festival of weeks with the first fruits of wheat harvest, and the feast of ingathering at the turn of the year.

23 Three times in the year all your males shall appear before The Sovereign 𐀉𐀄𐀅𐀄 (YAHUAH), The ALUAH OF Yashar'AL.

24 For I will drive out nations before you and enlarge your borders, neither shall any man desire your land when you go up to appear before 𐀉𐀄𐀅𐀄 (YAHUAH) Your ALUAH, three times in the year.

25 "You shall not offer the blood of My slaughtering with leaven, neither shall the slaughter of the festival of the Pasakh be left to the rising.

26 "You shall bring the first of the first fruits of your ground to the house of 𐀉𐀄𐀅𐀄 (YAHUAH) Your ALUAH. "You shall not cook a young goat in its mother's milk."

27 And 𐀉𐀄𐀅𐀄 (YAHUAH) said to Mashah, "Write you these Words: For in accordance with these Words I have made a Bar'yath (covenant) with you and with Yashar'AL."

28 And he was there with 𐀉𐀄𐀅𐀄 (YAHUAH) forty days and forty nights, he neither ate bread, nor drank water. And He wrote on the tablets the Words of the Bar'yath (covenant), the ten commandments.

29 And it came to be, when Mashah came down from Mount Sayan'ya with the two tablets of the witness in Mashah's hand, when he came down from the mountain, that Mashah did not know that the skin of his face shone by reason of his speaking with him.

30 And when A'haran and all the children of Yashar'AL saw Mashah, behold, the skin of his face shone, and they were afraid to come near him.

31 And Mashah called to them, and A'haran and all the rulers of the congregation returned to him, and Mashah spoke to them.

32 And afterward all the children of Yashar'AL came near, and he gave them all of the commandments that 𐀉𐀄𐀅𐀄 (YAHUAH) had spoken with him on Mount Sayan'ya.

33 And when Mashah was done speaking with them, he put a veil on his face.

34 But when Mashah went in before 𐀉𐀄𐀅𐀄 (YAHUAH) to speak with him, he took the veil off, until he came out, and he came out, and spoke to the children of Yashar'AL that what he was commanded.

35 And the children of Yashar'AL saw Mashah's face, that the skin of Mashah's face shone: and Mashah put the veil on his face again, until he went in to speak with Him.

CHAPTER 35

1 And Mashah assembled all the congregation of the children of Yashar'AL and said to them, "These are the Words that 𐀉𐀄𐀅𐀄 (YAHUAH) has commanded, that you should do them.

2 'Six days shall work be done, but on the seventh day there shall be a made apart day for you, a Shabath of rest to 𐀉𐀄𐀅𐀄 (YAHUAH): Whoever does any work in it shall be put to death.

3 You shall kindle no fire throughout your habitations on the Shabath day.'"

4 And Mashah spoke to all the congregation of the children of Yashar'AL saying, "This is the Word that 𐀉𐀄𐀅𐀄 (YAHUAH) commanded saying,

5 'Take from among you an offering to 𐀉𐀄𐀅𐀄 (YAHUAH). Whoever is of a willing heart, let him bring it, 𐀉𐀄𐀅𐀄 (YAHUAH)'s offering: gold, and silver, and bronze,

6 and blue, and purple, and crimson scarlet, and fine linen, and goats' hair,

7 and rams' skins dyed red, and fine leather, and acacia wood,

8 and oil for the light, spices for the anointing oil and for the sweet incense,

9 and onyx stones, and stones to be placed for the garment and for the breastplate.

10 β€œAnd let all discerned hearted man among you come, and make all that 𐀉𐀄𐀅𐀄 (YAHUAH) has commanded:

21 And they came, everyone whose heart stirred him up, and everyone whom his rukh made willing, and brought 𐀉𐀄𐀅𐀄 (YAHUAH)'s offering, for the work of the Tent of Meeting, and for all of its service, and for the made apart garments.

22 And they came, both men and women, as many as were willing hearted, and brought brooches, earrings, signet rings, and armlets, all jewels of gold, even every man who offered an offering of gold to 𐀉𐀄𐀅𐀄 (YAHUAH).

24 And everyone who did offer an offering of silver and bronze brought 𐀉𐀄𐀅𐀄 (YAHUAH)'s offering, and everyone, with whom was found acacia wood for any work of the service, brought it.

25 And all the women who were discerned hearted spun with their hands, and brought that which they had spun, the blue, and the purple, the crimson scarlet, and the fine linen.

30 And Mashah said to the children of Yashar'AL, "Behold, 𐀉𐀄𐀅𐀄 (YAHUAH) has called by name Batsal'AL son of Aura’ya, son of Khur, of the tribe of Yahudah.

31 And He has filled him with THE RUKH OF ALUAH, in discernment, in understanding, in knowledge, and in all work,

32 and to make skillful works, to work in gold, in silver, in bronze,

33 in cutting of stones for placing, and in carving of wood, to work in all kinds of skillful workmanship.

34 And He has put in his heart that he may teach, both he, and Ahal'ya'ab son of Akh'ya'samak, of the tribe of Dan.

35 He has filled them with discernment of heart, to work all kinds of workmanship, of the engraver, of the skillful workman, and of the embroiderer, in blue, in purple, in crimson scarlet, and in fine linen, and of the weaver, even of those who do any workmanship, and of those who make skillful works.

CHAPTER 36

1 β€œAnd Batsal'AL and Ahal'ya'ab shall work with every discerned hearted man, in whom 𐀉𐀄𐀅𐀄 (YAHUAH) has put discernment and understanding to know how to work all the work for the service of the Made Apart Place, according to all that 𐀉𐀄𐀅𐀄 (YAHUAH) has commanded."

2 And Mashah called Batsal'AL, and Ahal'ya'ab, and every discerned hearted man, in whose heart 𐀉𐀄𐀅𐀄 (YAHUAH) had put discernment, even everyone whose heart stirred him up to come to the work to do it:

3 and they received from Mashah all the offering which the children of Yashar'AL had brought for the work of the service of the Made Apart Place, with that to make it. And they brought yet to him freewill offerings every rising.

4 And all the discerned men, who performed all the work of the Made Apart Place, each came from his work that they did.

5 And they spoke to Mashah saying, "The people bring much more than enough for the service of the work that 𐀉𐀄𐀅𐀄 (YAHUAH) commanded to make."

6 And Mashah gave commandment, and they caused it to be proclaimed throughout the camp saying, "Let neither man nor woman make anything else for the offering for the Made Apart Place." So the people were restrained from bringing.

7 For the material they had was sufficient for all the work to make it, and too much.

27 And the one hundred talents of silver were for casting the sockets of the Made Apart Place, and the sockets of the veil, one hundred sockets for the one hundred talents, a talent for a socket.

28 And of the one thousand and seven hundred and seventy and five he made hooks for the columns, overlaid their capitals, and made fillets for them.

29 And the bronze of the offering was seventy talents, and two thousand and four hundred shaqal.

30 And with it he made the sockets to the door of the Tent of Meeting, the bronze altar, the bronze grating for it, all the vessels of the altar,

31 And the sockets around the court, the sockets of the gate of the court, all the pins of the tabernacle, and all the pegs around the court.

CHAPTER 39

1 And of the blue, and the purple, and crimson scarlet, they made finely worked garments, for witnessing in the made apart place, and made the made apart garments for A'haran, as 𐀉𐀄𐀅𐀄 (YAHUAH) commanded Mashah.

2 And he made the garment of gold, blue, and purple, and crimson scarlet, and fine twined linen.

3 And they beat the gold into thin plates, and cut it into wires, to work it in the blue, the purple, the crimson scarlet, and in the fine linen, the work of the skillful workman.

4 They made shoulder straps for it, joined together. At the two ends it was joined together.

5 And the skillfully woven band that was on it, with which to fasten it on, was of the same piece, like its work, of gold, of blue, and purple, and crimson scarlet, and fine twined linen, as 𐀉𐀄𐀅𐀄 (YAHUAH) commanded Mashah.

6 And they worked the onyx stones, enclosed in settings of gold, engraved with the engravings of a signet, according to the names of the children of Yashar'AL.

7 And he put them on the shoulder straps of the garment, to be stones of memorial for the children of Yashar'AL, as 𐀉𐀄𐀅𐀄 (YAHUAH) commanded Mashah.

8 And he made the breastplate, the work of a skillful workman, like the work of the garment, of gold, of blue, and purple, and crimson scarlet, and fine twined linen.

9 It was square. They made the breastplate double. Its length was a span, and its breadth a span, being double.

10 And they placed in it four rows of stones. A row of ruby, topaz, and emerald was the first row,

11 and the second row, a turquoise, a sapphire, and an diamond,

12 and the third row, a jacinth, an agate, and an amethyst,

13 and the fourth row, a beryl, an onyx, and a jasper. They were enclosed in gold settings.

14 And the stones were according to the names of the children of Yashar'AL, twelve, according to their names, like the engravings of a signet, everyone according to his name, for the twelve tribes.

15 And they made on the breastplate chains like cords, of braided work of pure gold.

16 And they made two settings of gold, and two gold rings, and put the two rings on the two ends of the breastplate.

17 And they put the two braided chains of gold in the two rings at the ends of the breastplate.

18 And the other two ends of the two braided chains they put on the two settings, and put them on the shoulder straps of the garment, in its front.

19 And they made two rings of gold, and put them on the two ends of the breastplate, on its edge, which was toward the side of the garment inward.

20 And they made two rings of gold, and put them on the two shoulder straps of the garment underneath, in its front, close by its coupling, above the skillfully woven band of the garment.

21 And they bound the breastplate by its rings to the rings of the garment with a lace of blue, that it might be on the skillfully woven band of the garment, and that the breastplate might not come loose from the garment, as 𐀉𐀄𐀅𐀄 (YAHUAH) commanded Mashah.

22 And he made the robe of the garment of woven work, all of blue.

23 And the opening of the robe in its midst was like the opening of a coat of mail, with a binding around its opening, that it should not be torn.

24 And they made on the skirts of the robe pomegranates of blue, and purple, and crimson scarlet, twined linen.

25 And they made bells of pure gold, and put the bells between the pomegranates around the skirts of the robe, between the pomegranates,

26 A bell and a pomegranate, a bell and a pomegranate, around the skirts of the robe, to witness in, as 𐀉𐀄𐀅𐀄 (YAHUAH) commanded Mashah.

27 And they made the tunics of fine linen of woven work for A'haran, and for his sons,

28 and the turban of fine linen, and the linen turbans of fine linen, and the linen breeches of fine twined linen,

29 and the sash of fine twined linen, and blue, and purple, and crimson scarlet, the work of the embroiderer, as 𐀉𐀄𐀅𐀄 (YAHUAH) commanded Mashah.

30 And they made the plate of the made apart crown of pure gold, and wrote on it a writing, like the engravings of a signet: β€œMADE APART TO 𐀉𐀄𐀅𐀄 (YAHUAH)."

31 And they tied to it a lace of blue, to fasten it on the turban above, as 𐀉𐀄𐀅𐀄 (YAHUAH) commanded Mashah.

32 Thus all the work of the tabernacle of the Tent of Meeting was completed. And the children of Yashar'AL did according to all that 𐀉𐀄𐀅𐀄 (YAHUAH) commanded Mashah, so they did.

33 And they brought the tabernacle to Mashah, the tent, with all its utensils, its clasps, its boards, its bars, its columns, its sockets,

34 and the covering of rams' skins dyed red, the covering of fine leather, the veil of the screen,

41 the finely worked garments for witnessing in the made apart place, the made apart garments for A'haran the priest, and the garments of his sons, to witness in the ka'ahn (priest's) office.

42 According to all that 𐀉𐀄𐀅𐀄 (YAHUAH) commanded Mashah, so the children of Yashar'AL did all the work.

43 And Mashah saw all the work, and behold, they had done it as 𐀉𐀄𐀅𐀄 (YAHUAH) had commanded, even so had they done it: And Mashah Barak them.

CHAPTER 40

1 And 𐀉𐀄𐀅𐀄 (YAHUAH) spoke to Mashah saying,

2 β€œIn the first day of the month, on one of the month, you shall raise up the tabernacle of the Tent of Meeting.

3 And you shall put the ark of the Witness in it, and you shall screen the ark with the veil.

4 And you shall bring in the table, and place in order what are on it. And you shall bring in the lampstand, and light its lamps.

5 And you shall place the golden altar for incense before the ark of the Witness, and put the screen of the door to the tabernacle.

6 ”And you shall place the altar of burnt offering before the door of the tabernacle of the Tent of Meeting.

7 And you shall place the basin between the Tent of Meeting and the altar, and shall put water therein.

8 And you shall place up the court around it, and hang up the screen of the gate of the court.

9 β€œAnd you shall take the anointing oil, and anoint the tabernacle, and all that is in it, and shall make it made apart, and all its utensils: And it will be made apart.

10 And you shall anoint the altar of burnt offering, with all its vessels, and make apart the altar: And the altar will be most made apart.

11 And you shall anoint the basin and its base, and make apart it.

12 β€œAnd you shall bring A'haran and his sons to the door of the Tent of Meeting, and shall wash them with water.

13 And you shall put on A'haran the made apart garments, and you shall anoint him, and make apart him, that he may serve to Me in the ka'ahn (priest's) office.

14 And you shall bring his sons and put tunics on them.

15 And you shall anoint them, as you anointed their father, that they may serve to Me in the ka'ahn (priest's) office. And their anointing shall be to them for an everlasting ka'ahn’tha (priesthood) throughout their generations."

16 And Mashah did so. According to all that 𐀉𐀄𐀅𐀄 (YAHUAH) commanded him, so he did.

17 And it came to be in the first month in the second year, in one of the month, that the tabernacle was raised up.

18 And Mashah raised up the tabernacle, and laid its sockets, and placed up its boards, and put in its bars, and raised up its columns.

19 And he spread the covering over the tent, and put the roof of the tabernacle above on it, as 𐀉𐀄𐀅𐀄 (YAHUAH) commanded Mashah.

20 And he took and put the Witness into the ark, and placed the poles on the ark, and put the atonement cover above on the ark.

21 And he brought the ark into the tabernacle, and placed up the veil of the screen, and screened the ark of the witness, as 𐀉𐀄𐀅𐀄 (YAHUAH) commanded Mashah.

22 And he put the table in the Tent of Meeting, on the side of the tabernacle northward, outside of the veil.

23 And he placed the bread in order on it before 𐀉𐀄𐀅𐀄 (YAHUAH), as 𐀉𐀄𐀅𐀄 (YAHUAH) commanded Mashah.

24 And he put the lampstand in the Tent of Meeting, opposite the table, on the side of the tabernacle southward.

25 And he lit the lamps before 𐀉𐀄𐀅𐀄 (YAHUAH), as 𐀉𐀄𐀅𐀄 (YAHUAH) commanded Mashah.

26 And he put the golden altar in the Tent of Meeting before the veil,

27 And he burnt incense of sweet incense on it, as 𐀉𐀄𐀅𐀄 (YAHUAH) commanded Mashah.

28 And he put up the screen of the door to the tabernacle.

29 And he placed the altar of burnt offering at the door of the tabernacle of the Tent of Meeting, and offered on it the burnt offering and the meal offering, as 𐀉𐀄𐀅𐀄 (YAHUAH) commanded Mashah.

30 And he placed the basin between the Tent of Meeting and the altar, and put water therein, with which to wash.

31 And Mashah, A'haran, and his sons washed their hands and their feet there.

32 When they went into the Tent of Meeting, and when they came near to the altar, they washed, as 𐀉𐀄𐀅𐀄 (YAHUAH) commanded Mashah.

33 And he raised up the court around the tabernacle and the altar, and placed up the screen of the gate of the court. And Mashah completed the work.

34 And the cloud covered the Tent of Meeting, and the Esteem of 𐀉𐀄𐀅𐀄 (YAHUAH) filled the tabernacle.

35 And Mashah was not able to enter into the Tent of Meeting, because the cloud stayed on it, and the esteem of 𐀉𐀄𐀅𐀄 (YAHUAH) filled the tabernacle.

36 And when the cloud was taken up from over the tabernacle, the children of Yashar'AL went onward, throughout all their journeys,

37 But if the cloud was not taken up, then they did not travel until the day that it was taken up.

38 For the cloud of 𐀉𐀄𐀅𐀄 (YAHUAH) was on the tabernacle by day, and there was fire in the cloud by night, for the eyes of all the house of Yashar'AL, throughout all their journeys.
