3 Both you shall put male and female outside of the camp, that they not defile their camp, in the midst of where I abide."
4 And the children of Yashar'AL did so, and put them out outside of the camp, as 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 (YAHUAH) spoke to Mashah, so did the children of Yashar'AL.
5 And 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 (YAHUAH) spoke to Mashah saying,
6 "Speak to the children of Yashar'AL: 'When a man or woman commits any transgression that men commit, so as to trespass against 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 (YAHUAH), and that being is guilty,
7 then he shall confess his transgression that he has done, and he shall make restitution for his guilt in full, and add to it a fifth of it, and give it to him in respect of whom he has been guilty.
8 But if the man has no kinsman to whom restitution may be made for the guilt, the restitution for guilt which is made to 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 (YAHUAH) shall be the ka'ahn (priest)'s, besides the ram of the atonement, by which atonement shall be made for him.
9 And every heave offering of all the Made Apart things of the children of Yashar'AL that they bring to the ka'ahn (priest), shall be his.
10 And every man's Made Apart Items shall be his: whatever any man gives the ka'ahn (priest), it shall be his.'"
11 And 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 (YAHUAH) spoke to Mashah saying,
12 "Speak to the children of Yashar'AL and tell them: 'If any man's wife goes astray, and is untrustworthy to him,
13 and a man lies with her carnally, and it is hidden from the eyes of her husband, and is kept close, and she is defiled, and there is no witness against her, and she is not taken in the act,
14 And The Rukh of jealousy comes on him, and he is jealous of his wife, and she is defiled: Or if The Rukh of jealousy comes on him, and he is jealous of his wife, and she is not defiled:
15 then the man shall bring his wife to the ka'ahn (priest), and shall bring her offering for her: a tenth of an measure of barley meal. He shall pour no oil on it, nor put frankincense on it, for it is a meal offering of jealousy, a meal offering of memorial, bringing iniquity to memory.
16 And the ka'ahn (priest) shall bring her near, and place her to the face of 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 (YAHUAH),
17 and the ka'ahn (priest) shall take Made Apart Water in an earthen vessel, and of the dust that is on the floor of the tabernacle the ka'ahn (priest) shall take, and put it into the water.
18 And the ka'ahn (priest) shall place the woman to the face of 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 (YAHUAH), and let the hair of the woman's head go loose, and put the meal offering of memorial in her hands, which is the meal offering of jealousy. The ka'ahn (priest) shall have in his hand the water of bitterness that brings a curse.
19 And the ka'ahn (priest) shall cause her to swear, and shall tell the woman, "If no man has lain with you, and if you have not gone aside to uncleanness, being under your husband, be free from this water of bitterness that brings a curse.
20 But if you have gone astray, being under your husband, and if you are defiled, and some man has lain with you besides your husband:"
21 then the ka'ahn (priest) shall cause the woman to swear with the oath of cursing, and the ka'ahn (priest) shall tell the woman, "𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 (YAHUAH) make you a curse and an oath among your people, when 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 (YAHUAH) allows your thigh fall away, and your belly swell,
22 and this water that brings a curse will go into your bowels, and make your body swell, and your thigh fall away." And the woman shall say, “So Be It, So Be It.”
23 “And the ka'ahn (priest) shall write these curses in a book, and he shall blot them out into the water of bitterness.
24 And he shall make the woman drink the water of bitterness that causes the curse, and the water that causes the curse shall enter into her and become bitter.
25 And the ka'ahn (priest) shall take the meal offering of jealousy out of the woman's hand, and shall wave the meal offering before 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 (YAHUAH), and bring it to the altar.
26 And the ka'ahn (priest) shall take a handful of the meal offering, as its memorial, and burn it on the altar, and afterward shall make the woman drink the water.
27 And when he has made her drink the water, then it shall be, if she is defiled, and has committed a trespass against her husband, that the water that causes the curse will enter into her and become bitter, and her body will swell, and her thigh will fall away: And the woman will be a curse among her people.
28 But if the woman is not defiled, but is clean, then she shall be free, and shall conceive seed.
29 "'This is the Thur’ath of jealousy, when a wife, being under her husband, goes astray, and is defiled,
30 Or when the Rukh of jealousy comes on a man, and he is jealous of his wife, then he shall place the woman to the face of 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 (YAHUAH), and the ka'ahn (priest) shall execute to her all this, The Thurah.
31 And the man shall be free from iniquity, and that woman shall bear her iniquity.'"
CHAPTER 6
1 And 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 (YAHUAH) spoke to Mashah saying,
2 "Speak to the children of Yashar'AL and tell them: 'When either man or woman shall make a wonderful vow, to vow of a Naza'yar, to separate himself to 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 (YAHUAH),
3 he shall separate himself from wine and strong drink. He shall drink no vinegar of wine, or vinegar of fermented drink, neither shall he drink any juice of grapes, nor eat fresh grapes or dried.
4 All the days of his separation he shall eat nothing that is made of the grapevine, from the seeds even to the skins.
5 "'All the days of his vow of separation no razor shall come on his head, until the days are fulfilled that he separates himself to 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 (YAHUAH). He shall be Made Apart. He shall let the locks of the hair of his head grow long.
6 "'All the days that he separates himself to 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 (YAHUAH) he shall not go near a dead body.
7 He shall not make himself unclean for his father, or for his mother, for his brother, or for his sister, when they die, because his separation to ALUAH is on his head.
8 All the days of his separation he is Made Apart to 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 (YAHUAH).
9 “And if any man dies suddenly beside him, and he defiles the head of his separation, then he shall shave his head in the day of his cleansing. On the seventh day he shall shave it.
10 And on the eighth day he shall bring two turtledoves or two young pigeons to the ka'ahn (priest), to the door of the Tent of Meeting.
11 And the ka'ahn (priest) shall offer one for a transgression offering, and the other for a burnt offering, and make atonement for him, because he transgressed by reason of the dead, and shall make his head Made Apart that same day.
12 And he shall separate to 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 (YAHUAH) the days of his separation, and shall bring a male lamb a year old for a trespass offering, but the former days shall be void, because his separation was defiled.
13 "'This is the Thur’ath of the Naza'yar: When the days of his separation are fulfilled, he shall be brought to the door of the Tent of Meeting,
14 And he shall offer his offering to 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 (YAHUAH), one male lamb a year old without blemish for a burnt offering, and one ewe lamb a year old without blemish for a transgression offering, and one ram without blemish for shalam'ym (peace) offerings,
15 and a basket of unleavened bread, cakes of fine flour mixed with oil, and unleavened wafers anointed with oil, and their meal offering, and their drink offerings.
16 And the ka'ahn (priest) shall bring them to the face of 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 (YAHUAH), and shall offer his transgression offering, and his burnt offering.
17 And he shall offer the ram for a slaughter of the shalam'ym (peace) offerings to 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 (YAHUAH), with the basket of unleavened bread. And the ka'ahn (priest) shall offer also its meal offering, and its drink offering.
18 And the Naza'yar shall shave the head of his separation at the door of the Tent of Meeting, and shall take the hair of the head of his separation, and put it on the fire that is under the slaughter of the shalam'ym (peace) offerings.
19 And the ka'ahn (priest) shall take the boiled shoulder of the ram, and one unleavened cake out of the basket, and one unleavened wafer, and shall put them on the hands of the Naza'yar, after he has shaved the head of his separation,
20 and the ka'ahn (priest) shall wave them for a wave offering before 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 (YAHUAH). This is Made Apart for the ka'ahn (priest), together with the breast that is waved and the thigh that is offered. After that the Naza'yar may drink wine.
21 "'This is the Thur’ath of the Naza'yar who vows, and of his offering to 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 (YAHUAH) for his separation, besides that which he is able to get. According to his vow that he vows, so he must do after the Thur’ath of his separation.'"
22 And 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 (YAHUAH) spoke to Mashah saying,
23 "Speak to A'haran and to his sons saying: ‘This is how you shall Barak the children of Yashar'AL.' Say to them:
24 '𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 (YAHUAH) Barak you, and guard you.
25 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 (YAHUAH) make His face shine upon you, and be favorful to you.
26 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 (YAHUAH) lift up His face upon you, and give to you shalum (peace).’
27 "So they shall put My Name on the children of Yashar'AL, and I will Barak them."

CHAPTER 8
1 And 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 (YAHUAH) spoke to Mashah saying,
2 "Speak to A'haran and tell him, 'When you light the lamps, the seven lamps shall give light in front of the lampstand.'"
3 And A'haran did so. He lit its lamps to light the area in front of the lampstand, as 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 (YAHUAH) commanded Mashah.
4 And this was the workmanship of the lampstand, beaten work of gold. From its base to its flowers, it was beaten work: According to the pattern which 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 (YAHUAH) had shown Mashah, so he made the lampstand.
5 And 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 (YAHUAH) spoke to Mashah saying,
6 "Take the Lu'ym from among the children of Yashar'AL and cleanse them.
7 And you shall do this to them, to cleanse them: sprinkle the water of cleansing on them, let them shave their whole bodies, and let them wash their clothes, and cleanse themselves.
8 Then let them take a young bull, and its meal offering, fine flour mixed with oil, and another young bull you shall take for a transgression offering.
9 And you shall bring the Lu'ym to the face of the Tent of Meeting. And you shall assemble the whole congregation of the children of Yashar'AL.
10 And you shall bring the Lu'ym to the face of 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 (YAHUAH). And the children of Yashar'AL shall lay their hands on the Lu'ym,
11 And A'haran shall offer the Lu'ym to the face of 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 (YAHUAH) for a wave offering, on the behalf of the children of Yashar'AL, that it may be theirs to do the service of 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 (YAHUAH).
12 “And the Lu'ym shall lay their hands on the heads of the bulls, and you shall offer the one for a transgression offering, and the other for a burnt offering to 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 (YAHUAH), to make atonement for the Lu'ym.
13 And you shall stand the Lu'ym to the face of A'haran, and to the face of his sons, and offer them as a wave offering to 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 (YAHUAH).
14 Thus you shall separate the Lu'ym from among the children of Yashar'AL, and the Lu'ym shall be Mine.
15 "And after that, the Lu'ym shall go in to do the service of the Tent of Meeting: And you shall cleanse them, and offer them as a wave offering.
16 For they are given, given to Me from among the children of Yashar'AL, instead of all who open the womb, even the firstborn of all the children of Yashar'AL, I have taken them to Me.
17 For all the firstborn among the children of Yashar'AL are Mine, both man and beast. On the day that I struck all the firstborn in the land of Ma'tsara'ym, I made them apart for Myself.
18 And I have taken the Lu'ym instead of all the firstborn among the children of Yashar'AL.
19 And I have given the Lu'ym as a gift to A'haran and to his sons from among the children of Yashar'AL, to do the service of the children of Yashar'AL in the Tent of Meeting, and to make atonement for the children of Yashar'AL, that there be no plague among the children of Yashar'AL, when the children of Yashar'AL come near to the Made Apart Place."
20 And Mashah and A'haran and all the congregation of the children of Yashar'AL did so to the Lu'ym. According to all that 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 (YAHUAH) commanded Mashah concerning the Lu'ym, so the children of Yashar'AL did to them.
21 And the Lu'ym purified themselves from transgression, and they washed their clothes, and A'haran offered them for a wave offering before 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 (YAHUAH), and A'haran made atonement for them to cleanse them.
22 And after that, the Lu'ym went in to do their service in the Tent of Meeting before A'haran, and to the face of his sons: As 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 (YAHUAH) had commanded Mashah concerning the Lu'ym, so they did to them.
23 And 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 (YAHUAH) spoke to Mashah saying,
24 "This is that to the Lu'ym: from twenty and five years old and upward, they shall go in to wait on the service in the work of the Tent of Meeting,
25 And from the age of fifty years they shall cease waiting on the work, and shall serve no more,
26 But shall attend with their brothers in the Tent of Meeting, to perform the duty, and shall do no service. You shall do thus to the Lu'ym concerning their duties."
CHAPTER 9
1 And 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 (YAHUAH) spoke to Mashah in the wilderness of Sayan'ya, in the first month of the second year after they had come out of the land of Ma'tsara'ym saying,
2 "Moreover let the children of Yashar'AL keep the Pasakh in its appointed time.
3 On the fourteenth day of this month, at evening, you shall keep it in its appointed time, according to all its statutes, and according to all its ordinances, you shall keep it."
4 And Mashah spoke to the children of Yashar'AL, that they should keep the Pasakh.
5 And they kept the Pasakh in the first month, on the fourteenth day of the month, at evening, in the wilderness of Sayan'ya. According to all that 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 (YAHUAH) commanded Mashah, so the children of Yashar'AL did.
6 But there were certain men, who were unclean because of the dead body of a man, so that they could not keep the Pasakh on that day, and they came before Mashah and before A'haran on that day.
7 And those men said to him, "We are unclean because of the dead body of a man. Why are we kept back, that we may not offer the offering of 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 (YAHUAH) in its appointed time among the children of Yashar'AL?"
8 And Mashah answered them, "Wait, so that I hear what 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 (YAHUAH) will command concerning you."
9 And 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 (YAHUAH) spoke to Mashah saying,
10 "Say to the children of Yashar'AL, 'If any man of you or of your generations is unclean by reason of a dead body, or is on a journey far away, he shall still keep the Pasakh to 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 (YAHUAH).
11 In the second month, on the fourteenth day at evening they shall keep it, they shall eat it with unleavened bread and bitter herbs.
12 They shall leave none of it until the rising, nor break a bone of it. According to all the statute of the Pasakh they shall keep it.
13 But the man who is clean, and is not on a journey, and fails to keep the Pasakh, that being shall be cut off from his people. Because he did not offer the offering of 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 (YAHUAH) in its appointed time that man shall bear his transgression.
14 “And if a foreigner abides among you and desires to keep the Pasakh to 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 (YAHUAH), according to the statute of the Pasakh, and according to its ordinance, so shall he do. You shall have one statute, both for the foreigner, and for him who is born in the land.'"
15 And on the day that the tabernacle was raised up, the cloud covered the tabernacle, even the Tent of the witness: And at evening it was over the tabernacle as it were the appearance of fire, until rising.
16 So it was continually. The cloud covered it, and the appearance of fire by night.
17 And whenever the cloud was taken up from over the Tent, then after that the children of Yashar'AL traveled, and in the place where the cloud remained, there the children of Yashar'AL encamped.
18 At the commandment of 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 (YAHUAH), the children of Yashar'AL traveled, and at the commandment of 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 (YAHUAH) they encamped. As long as the cloud remained on the tabernacle they remained encamped.
19 Even when the cloud stayed on the tabernacle many days, then the children of Yashar'AL kept 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 (YAHUAH)'s command, and did not travel.
20 And the cloud was a few days on the tabernacle, then according to the commandment of 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 (YAHUAH) they remained encamped, and according to the commandment of 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 (YAHUAH) they traveled.
21 And the cloud was from evening until rising, and when the cloud was taken up in the rising, they traveled: or by day and by night, when the cloud was taken up, they traveled.
22 Whether two days, or a month, or a year that the cloud stayed on the tabernacle, remaining on it, the children of Yashar'AL remained encamped, and did not travel, but when it was taken up, they traveled.
23 At the commandment of 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 (YAHUAH) they encamped, and at the commandment of 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 (YAHUAH) they traveled. They kept 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 (YAHUAH)'s command, at the commandment of 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 (YAHUAH) by Mashah.
CHAPTER 10
1 And 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 (YAHUAH) spoke to Mashah saying,
2 "Make two trumpets of silver. You shall make them of beaten work. You shall use them for the calling of the congregation, and for the journeying of the camps.
3 And when they blow them, all the congregation shall gather themselves to you at the door of the Tent of Meeting.
4 And if they blow just one, then the princes, the heads of the thousands of Yashar'AL, shall gather themselves to you.
5 And when you blow an alarm, the camps that lie on the east side shall go forward.
6 And when you blow an alarm the second time, the camps that lie on the south side shall go forward. They shall blow an alarm for their journeys.
7 But when the assembly is to be gathered together, you shall blow, but you shall not sound an alarm.
8 ”And sons of A'haran, the ka'ahn'ym (ka'ahn (priest)s), shall blow the trumpets. And this shall be to you for a statute forever throughout your generations.
9 And when you go to war in your land against the adversary who oppresses you, then you shall sound an alarm with the trumpets. Then you will be remembered before 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 (YAHUAH) Your ALUAH, and you will be saved from your enemies.
10 "Also in the day of your gladness, and in your appointed times, and in the beginnings of your months, you shall blow the trumpets over your burnt offerings, and over the slaughterings of your shalam'ym (peace) offerings, and they shall be to you for a remembrance before your ALUAH. I AM 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 (YAHUAH) Your ALUAH."
11 And it came to be in the second year, in the second month, on the twentieth day of the month, that the cloud was taken up from over the tabernacle of the witness.
12 And the children of Yashar'AL went forward according to their journeys out of the wilderness of Sayan'ya, and the cloud stayed in the wilderness of Paran.
13 And they first departed forward according to the commandment of 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 (YAHUAH) by Mashah.
14 And the standard of the camp of the children of Yahudah went forward according to their armies. And Nakh'shun (Nakh'shoon) son of Am'ya'nadab was over his army.
15 And Nathan'AL son of Tsu'ar was over the army To the tribe of the children of Ya'shasha'kar.
16 And AL'ya'ab son of Kha'lun (Kha'loon) was over the army To the tribe of the children of Zabulan.
17 And the tabernacle was taken down, and sons of Gar'shun (Gar'shoon) and sons of Marara'ya, who bore the tabernacle, went forward.
18 And the standard of the camp of Rauban went forward according to their armies. And AL'ya'tsur son of Shada'ya'a'ur was over his army.
19 And Shalam'ya'AL son of Tsur'ya Shada'ya was over the army To the tribe of the children of Shama'un (Shama'oon).
20 And AL'yasap son of Dau'AL was over the army To the tribe of the children of Gad.
21 And the Qa'ah'th'ya journeyed forward, bearing the Made Apart Place, while the tabernacle was put up before they arrived.
22 And the standard of the camp of the children of Apara'ym journeyed forward according to their armies. And AL'ya'shama son of Am'Yahu'd was over his army.
23 And Gamal'ya'AL son of Padah Tsur was over the army To the tribe of the children of Mana'shah.
24 And Ab'ya'dan son of Gada'un'ya (Gada'oon'ya) was over the army To the tribe of the children of Ban'yaman.
25 And the standard of the camp of the children of Dan, which was the rear guard of all the camps, journeyed forward according to their armies. And Akh'ya'azar son of Am'ya'shada'ya was over his army.
26 And Paga'ya'AL son of Akaran was over the army To the tribe of the children of Ashar.
27 And Akh'yara son of Ayanan was over the army To the tribe of the children of Nap'thal'ya.
28 These were the journeys of the children of Yashar'AL according to their armies, and they went forward.
29 And Mashah said to Khabab, son of Rau'AL the Mada'yan'ya, Mashah' father-in-law, "We are journeying to the place of that 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 (YAHUAH) said, 'I will give it to you.' Come with us, and we will treat you well, for 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 (YAHUAH) has spoken good concerning Yashar'AL."
30 And he said to him, "I will not go, but I will depart to my own land, and to my relatives."
31 And he said, "Do not leave us, please, because you know how we are to encamp in the wilderness, and you can be our eyes.
32 And it shall be, if you go with us, and it shall be, that whatever good 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 (YAHUAH) does to us, we will do the same to you."
33 And they journeyed forward from the Mount of 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 (YAHUAH) three days' journey. The ark of the Bar'yath (covenant) of 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 (YAHUAH) went before them three days' journey, to seek out a resting place for them.
34 And the cloud of 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 (YAHUAH) was over them by day, when they journeyed forward from the camp.
35 And it came to be, when the Ark went forward, that Mashah said, "Rise up, O 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 (YAHUAH), and let Your enemies be scattered! Let those who hate You flee from Your Face!"
36 When it rested he said, "Return, O 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 (YAHUAH), to the countless of thousands of Yashar'AL."
CHAPTER 11
1 And it came to be, the people complained in the ears of 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 (YAHUAH). When 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 (YAHUAH) heard it, His anger was kindled, and 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 (YAHUAH)'s fire burnt among them, and consumed some of the outskirts of the camp.
2 And the people cried to Mashah, and Mashah prayed to 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 (YAHUAH), and the fire abated.
3 And the name of that place he called Tha’abar’ah, because 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 (YAHUAH)'s fire burnt among them.
4 And the mixed multitude that was among them desired exceedingly: And the children of Yashar'AL also wept again and said, "Who will give us flesh to eat?
5 We remember the fish, which we ate in Ma'tsara'ym for nothing, the cucumbers, and the melons, and the leeks, and the onions, and the garlic,
6 But now we have lost our appetite. There is nothing at all except this mana to look at."
7 And the mana was like coriander seed, and its appearance like the appearance of bdellium.
8 The people went around, gathered it, and ground it in mills, or beat it in mortars, and boiled it in pots, and made cakes of it. And its taste was like the taste of fresh oil.
9 And when the dew fell on the camp in the night, the mana fell on it.
10 And Mashah heard the people weeping throughout their families, every man at the door of his tent, and the anger of 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 (YAHUAH) was kindled greatly, and Mashah was displeased.
11 And Mashah said to 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 (YAHUAH), "Why have You treated with Your servant evil? Why have I not found favor in Your sight, that You lay the burden of all this people on me?
12 Have I conceived all this people? Have I brought them forth, that You should tell me, 'Carry them in Your bosom, as a nurse carries a nursing infant, to the land which You swore to their fathers?'
13 Where could I get meat to give to all this people? For they weep to me saying, 'Give us meat, that we may eat.'
14 I am not able to bear all this people alone, because it is too heavy for me.
15 And if You treat me this way, please slay me, slay! If I have found favor in Your sight, and do not let me see my wretchedness."
16 And 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 (YAHUAH) said to Mashah, "Gather to me seventy men of the elders of Yashar'AL, whom you know to be the elders of the people, and officers over them, and bring them to the Tent of Meeting, that they stand there with you.
17 And I will come down and talk with you there. And I will take of The RUKH that is on you, and will put it on them, and they shall bear the burden of the people with you, that you not bear it yourself alone.
18 “And say to the people, ‘Make yourselves apart against tomorrow, and you will eat flesh, for you have wept in the ears of 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 (YAHUAH) saying, "Who will give us flesh to eat? For it was well with us in Ma'tsara'ym." Therefore 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 (YAHUAH) will give you flesh, and you will eat.
19 You will not eat one day, nor two days, nor five days, neither ten days, nor twenty days,
20 But a month of days, until it come out at your nostrils, and it is loathsome to you, because that you have rejected 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 (YAHUAH) who is among you, and have wept before him saying, "Why did we come out of Ma'tsara'ym?’"
21 And Mashah said, "The people, among whom I am, are six hundred thousand men on foot, and you have said, 'I will give them flesh, that they eat a month of days.'
22 Shall flocks and herds be slaughtered for them, to be sufficient for them? Shall all the fish of the sea be gathered together for them, to be sufficient for them?"
23 And 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 (YAHUAH) said to Mashah, "Has 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 (YAHUAH)'s hand grown short? Now you will see whether My Word will happen to you or not."
24 And Mashah went out, and told the people the words of 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 (YAHUAH), and he gathered seventy men of the elders of the people, and placed them around the Tent.
25 And 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 (YAHUAH) came down in the cloud, and spoke to him, and took of The RUKH that was on him, and put it on the seventy elders: And it came to be that when The RUKH rested on them, they nab’a (prophesied), but they did so no more.
26 But two men remained in the camp. The name of one was AL'dad, and the name of the other Maya'dad: and The RUKH rested on them, and they were of those who were written, but had not gone out to the Tent, and they nab’a (prophesied) in the camp.
27 And a young man ran, and told Mashah, and said, "AL'dad and Maya'dad are nab’a’ym (prophesying) in the camp!"
28 And Yahusha son of Nun, the servant of Mashah, one of his chosen men answered, "My sovereign Mashah, forbid them!"
29 And Mashah said to him, "Are you jealous for my sake? O give all 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 (YAHUAH)'s people nab’ya’ym (prophets), that 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 (YAHUAH) would put His RUKH on them!"
30 And Mashah went into the camp, he and the elders of Yashar'AL.
31 And a Wind from 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 (YAHUAH) went out and brought quails from the sea, and let them fall by the camp, about a day's journey on this side, and a day's journey on the other side, around the camp, and about two cubits above the surface of the earth.
32 And the people rose up all that day, and all the night, and all the next day, and gathered the quails. He who gathered least gathered ten khamara’ym, and they spread them all abroad for themselves around the camp.
33 While the flesh was yet between their teeth, before it was chewed, the anger of 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 (YAHUAH) was kindled against the people, and 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 (YAHUAH) struck the people with a very great plague.
34 And the name of that place was called Qabar'uth (Qabar'ooth) Ha'tha'ua, because there they buried the people who desired.
35 From Qabar'uth (Qabar'ooth) Ha'tha'ua the people traveled to Khatsar'uth (Khatsar'ooth), and they stayed in Khatsar'uth (Khatsar'ooth).
CHAPTER 12
1 Now Mara'ym and A'haran spoke against Mashah because of the Kusha'yath wife whom he had married, for he had married a Kusha'yath wife.
2 And they said, "Has 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 (YAHUAH) indeed spoken only with Mashah? Has He not spoken also with us?" And 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 (YAHUAH) heard it.
3 Now the man Mashah was very humble, above all the men who were on the surface of the earth.
4 And 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 (YAHUAH) spoke suddenly to Mashah, to A'haran, and to Mara'ym: "You three come out to the Tent of Meeting!" So the three of them came out.
5 And 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 (YAHUAH) came down in a pillar of cloud, and stood at the door of the Tent, and called A'haran and Mara'ym, and they both came forward.
6 And He said, "Hear now My Words. If there is a nab’ya (prophet) among you, I 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 (YAHUAH) will make Myself known to him in a vision. I will speak with Him in a dream.
7 My servant Mashah is not so. He is trustworthy in all My House.
8 With him I will speak mouth to mouth, even plainly, and not in riddles, and he shall see 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 (YAHUAH)'s form. Why then were you not afraid to speak against My servant, against Mashah?"
9 And the anger of 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 (YAHUAH) was kindled against them, and He departed.
10 And the cloud departed from over the Tent and behold, Mara'ym was leprous, as white as snow. And A'haran looked at Mara'ym and behold, she was leprous.
11 And A'haran said to Mashah, "Oh, my sovereign, please do not count this transgression against us, that we have done foolishly, and that we have transgressed.
12 Let her not, I pray, be as one dead, of whom the flesh is half consumed when he comes out of his mother's womb."
13 And Mashah cried to 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 (YAHUAH) saying, “Please heal her, O AL, please!”
14 And 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 (YAHUAH) said to Mashah, "If her father had but spit in her face, should she not be ashamed seven days? Let her be shut up outside of the camp seven days, and after that she shall be brought in again."
15 And Mara'ym was shut up outside of the camp seven days, and the people did not travel until Mara'ym was brought in again.
16 And afterward the people traveled from Khatsar'uth (Khatsar'ooth), and encamped in the wilderness of Paran.
CHAPTER 13
1 And 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 (YAHUAH) spoke to Mashah saying,
2 "Send men, that they spy out the land of Kanan that I give to the children of Yashar'AL. Of every tribe of their fathers, you shall send a man, every one a prince among them."
3 And Mashah sent them from the wilderness of Paran according to the commandment of 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 (YAHUAH): All of them men who were heads of the children of Yashar'AL.
4 And these were their names: To the tribe of Rauban, Shamua son of Zakur.
5 To the tribe of Shama'un (Shama'oon), Shapat son of Khura’ya.
6 To the tribe of Yahudah, Kalab son of Yapanah.
7 To the tribe of Ya'shasha'kar, Yaga’AL son of Yahu'sap.
8 To the tribe of Apara'ym, Husha son of Nun (Noon).
9 To the tribe of Ban'yaman, Palat’ya son of Rapua.
10 To the tribe of Zabulan, Gad’ya’AL son of Sud’ya (Sood’ya).
11 To the tribe of Yahu'sap, to the tribe of Mana'shah, Gad’ya son of Sus’ya (Soos’ya).
12 To the tribe of Dan, Am’ya’AL son of Gamal’ya.
13 To the tribe of Ashar, Sathur son of Maya’ka’AL.
14 To the tribe of Nap'thal'ya, Nakhab’ya son of U’pas’ya.
15 To the tribe of Gad, Gau’AL son of Maka’ya.
16 These are the names of the men who Mashah sent to spy out the land. And Mashah called Husha son of Nun Yahusha.
17 And Mashah sent them to spy out the land of Kanan and said to them, "Go up this way by the South, and go up into the mountain:
18 And see the land, what it is, and the people who abide therein, whether they are strong or weak, whether they are few or many,
19 and what the land is that they abide in, whether it is good or bad, and what cities they are that they abide in, whether in camps, or in strongholds,
20 and what the land is, whether it is fat or lean, whether there is wood therein, or not. Be courageous, and bring of the fruit of the land. Now the time was the time of the first ripe grapes."
21 So they went up, and spied out the land from the wilderness of Zayan to Rakhab, to the entrance of Khamath.
22 And they went up by the South, and came to Kha'brun (Kha'broon), and Akh’yaman, Shash’ya, and Thalam’ya, the children of Anaq, were there. Now Kha'brun (Kha'broon) was built seven years before Tsa’an in Ma'tsara'ym.
23 They came to the valley of Ashakal, and cut down from there a branch with one cluster of grapes, and they bore it on a staff between two, also of the pomegranates, and of the figs.
24 That place was called the valley of Ashakal, because of the cluster which the children of Yashar'AL cut down from there.
25 And they returned from spying out the land at the end of forty days.
26 And they went and came to Mashah, and to A'haran, and to all the congregation of the children of Yashar'AL, to the wilderness of Paran, to Qadash’ah, and brought back word to them, and to all the congregation, and showed them the fruit of the land.
27 And they told him and said, "We came to the land where you sent us, and surely it flows with milk and honey, and this is its fruit.
28 However the people who abide in the land are strong, and the cities are fortified, very great: And moreover we saw the children of Anaq there.
29 Amalaq abides in the land of the South: and the Khath’ya, and the Yabus’ya, and the Amar’ya, abide in the mountain, and the Kanan’ya abides by the sea, and along by the side of the Yardan."
30 And Kalab silenced the people before Mashah and said, "Let us go up at once, and possess it, for we are well able to overcome it."
31 But the men who went up with him said, "We are not able to go up against the people, for they are stronger than we."
32 And they brought up an evil report of the land which they had spied out to the children of Yashar'AL, saying, "The land that we have gone to spy it out, is a land that eats up its inhabitants, and all the people who we saw in it are men of great stature.
33 And there we saw the Nap'yal'ym (giants), sons of Anaq, who come of the Nap'yal'ym (giants): And we were in our own sight as grasshoppers, and so we were in their sight."
CHAPTER 14
1 And all the congregation lifted up their voice and cried, and the people wept that night.
2 And all the children of Yashar'AL murmured against Mashah and against A'haran: And the whole congregation said to them, "Would that we had died in the land of Ma'tsara'ym! or would that we had died in this wilderness!
3 And why does 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 (YAHUAH) bring us to this land to fall by the sword? Our wives and our little ones will be a prey: Would it not be better for us to return into Ma'tsara'ym?"
4 And they said one to another, "Let us make a captain, and let us return into Ma'tsara'ym."
5 Then Mashah and A'haran fell on their faces before all the assembly of the congregation of the children of Yashar'AL.
6 And Yahusha son of Nun and Kalab son of Yapanah, who were of those who spied out the land, tore their clothes:
7 and they spoke to all the congregation of the children of Yashar'AL saying, "The land thatt we passed through to spy it out, is an exceeding good land.
8 If 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 (YAHUAH) delights in us, then he will bring us into this land, and give it to us, a land which flows with milk and honey.
9 Only do not rebel against 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 (YAHUAH), neither fear the people of the land, for they are bread for us: their defense is removed from over them, and 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 (YAHUAH) is with us. Do not fear them."
10 But all the congregation threatened to stone them with stones. And the esteem of 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 (YAHUAH) appeared in the Tent of Meeting to all the children of Yashar'AL.
11 And 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 (YAHUAH) said to Mashah, "How long will this people despise Me? And how long will they not trust in Me, for all the signs which I have worked among them?
12 I will strike them with pestilence, and disinherit them, and will make of you a nation greater and mightier than they."
13 And Mashah said to 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 (YAHUAH), "Then the Ma'tsara'ym will hear it, for You brought up this people in Your might from among them,
14 And they will tell it to the inhabitants of this land. They have heard that You 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 (YAHUAH) are in the midst of this people, for You 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 (YAHUAH) are seen face to face, and Your cloud stands over them, and You go before them, in a pillar of cloud by day, and in a pillar of fire by night.
15 Now if You killed this people as one man, then the nations which have heard the fame of You will speak saying,
16 'Because 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 (YAHUAH) was not able to bring this people into the land that He swore to them, therefore He has slain them in the wilderness.'
17 Now please let the power of the sovereign be great, according as You have spoken saying,
18 '𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 (YAHUAH) is slow to anger, and abundant in loving kindness, forgiving iniquity and disobedience, and that will by no means clear, visiting the iniquity of the fathers on the children, on the third and on the fourth generation.'
19 Please pardon the iniquity of this people according to the greatness of your loving kindness, and according as you have forgiven this people, from Ma'tsara'ym even until now."
20 And 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 (YAHUAH) said, "I have pardoned according to your word:
21 But in very deed, as I abide, and as all the earth shall be filled with the esteem of 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 (YAHUAH),
22 Because all those men who have seen My esteem, and My signs that I worked in Ma'tsara'ym and in the wilderness, yet have tested Me these ten times, and have not listened to My voice,
23 Surely they shall not see the land that I swore to their fathers, neither shall any of those who despised Me see it:
24 But my servant Kalab, because he had another Rukh with him, and has followed Me fully, him will I bring into the land into that he went, and his seed shall possess it.
25 Now the Amalaq'ya and the Kanan'ya abide in the valley: Tomorrow turn, and go into the wilderness by the way to the sea of reeds."
26 And 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 (YAHUAH) spoke to Mashah and to A'haran saying,
27 "How long with this evil congregation that murmur against Me? I have heard the murmurings of the children of Yashar'AL, which they murmur against Me.
28 Tell them, 'As I abide, says 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 (YAHUAH), surely as you have spoken in My ears, so will I do to you:
29 Your dead bodies shall fall in this wilderness, and all who were numbered of you, according to your whole number, from twenty years old and upward, who have murmured against Me,
30 Surely you shall not come into the land, concerning which I swore that I would make you abide therein, except Kalab son of Yapanah, and Yahusha son of Nun.
31 But your little ones, that you said should be a prey, them will I bring in, and they shall know the land which you have rejected.
32 But as for you, your dead bodies shall fall in this wilderness.
33 And your children shall be wanderers in the wilderness forty years, and shall bear your whoring, until your dead bodies be consumed in the wilderness.
34 After the number of the days in which you spied out the land, even forty days, for every day a year, you will bear your iniquities, even forty years, and you will know My breaking off.’
35 I, 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 (YAHUAH), have spoken, surely this will I do to all this evil congregation, who are gathered together against Me: In this wilderness they shall be consumed, and there they shall die."
36 And the men, whom Mashah sent to spy out the land, who returned, and made all the congregation to murmur against him, by bringing up an evil report against the land,
37 Even those men who did bring up an evil report of the land, died by the plague before 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 (YAHUAH).
38 But Yahusha son of Nun, and Kalab son of Yapanah, remained abiding of those men who went to spy out the land.
39 And Mashah told these words to all the children of Yashar'AL: And the people mourned greatly.
40 And they rose up early in the rising, and went up to the top of the mountain saying, "Behold, we are here, and will go up to the place that 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 (YAHUAH) has promised: For we have transgressed."
41 And Mashah said, "Why now do you disobey the commandment of 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 (YAHUAH), since it shall not prosper?
42 Do not go up, for 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 (YAHUAH) is not in your midst, that you not be struck down before your enemies.
43 For there the Amalaq'ya and the Kanan'ya are before you, and you shall fall by the sword: Because you are turned back from following 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 (YAHUAH), therefore 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 (YAHUAH) will not be with you."
44 But they presumed to go up to the top of the mountain: Nevertheless the Ark of the Bar'yath (covenant) of 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 (YAHUAH) and Mashah did not depart out of the camp.
45 Then the Amalaq'ya came down, and the Kanan'ya who abided in that mountain, and struck them and beat them down, even to Kharamah.
CHAPTER 15
1 And 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 (YAHUAH) spoke to Mashah saying,
2 "Speak to the children of Yashar'AL, and tell them, 'When you have come into the land of your habitations that I give to you,
3 And will make an offering by fire to 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 (YAHUAH), a burnt offering, or a slaughtering, to accomplish a vow, or as a freewill offering, or in your appointed times, to make a pleasant aroma to 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 (YAHUAH), of the herd, or of the flock,
4 then he who offers his offering shall offer to 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 (YAHUAH) a meal offering of a tenth part of fine flour mixed with the fourth part of a hin of oil:
5 and wine for the drink offering, the fourth part of a hin, you shall prepare with the burnt offering, or for the slaughtering, for each lamb.
6 "'Or for a ram, you shall prepare for a meal offering two tenth parts of fine flour mixed with the third part of a hin of oil:
7 and for the drink offering you shall offer the third part of a hin of wine, of a pleasant aroma to 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 (YAHUAH).
8 And when you prepare a bull for a burnt offering, or for a slaughter, to accomplish a vow, or for shalam'ym (peace) offerings to 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 (YAHUAH),
9 then shall he offer with the bull a meal offering of three tenth parts of fine flour mixed with half a hin of oil:
10 and you shall offer for the drink offering half a hin of wine, for an offering made by fire, of a pleasant aroma to 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 (YAHUAH).
11 Thus shall it be done for each bull, or for each ram, or for each of the male lambs, or of the young goats.
12 According to the number that you shall prepare, so you shall do to everyone according to their number.
13 "'All who are native born shall do these in this way, to offer an offering made by fire, of a pleasant aroma to 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 (YAHUAH).
14 And if a stranger abides as a foreigner with you, or whoever may be among you throughout your generations, and will offer an offering made by fire, of a pleasant aroma to 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 (YAHUAH), as you do, so he shall do.
15 For the assembly, there shall be one statute for you, and for the stranger who abides as a foreigner, a statute forever throughout your generations: As you are, so shall the foreigner be before 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 (YAHUAH).
16 One Thurah and one ordinance shall be for you, and for the stranger who abides as a foreigner with you.'"
17 And 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 (YAHUAH) spoke to Mashah saying,
18 "Speak to the children of Yashar'AL, and tell them, 'When you come into the land where I bring you,
19 then it shall be that when you eat of the bread of the land, you shall offer up a wave offering to 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 (YAHUAH).
20 Of the first of your dough you shall offer up a cake for a wave offering: as the wave offering of the threshing floor, so you shall heave it.
21 Of the first of your dough you shall give to 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 (YAHUAH) a wave offering throughout your generations.
22 “And when you shall err, and not observe all these commandments that 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 (YAHUAH) has spoken to Mashah,
23 even all that 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 (YAHUAH) has commanded you by Mashah, from the day that 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 (YAHUAH) gave commandment, and onward throughout your generations,
24 then it shall be, if it be done unintentionally, from the eyes of the congregation, that all the congregation shall offer one young bull for a burnt offering, for a pleasant aroma to 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 (YAHUAH), with the meal offering of it, and the drink offering of it, according to the ordinance, and one male goat for a transgression offering.
25 And the ka'ahn (priest) shall make atonement for all the congregation of the children of Yashar'AL, and they shall be forgiven, for it was an error, and they have brought their offering, an offering made by fire to 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 (YAHUAH), and their transgression offering before 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 (YAHUAH), for their error:
26 and all the congregation of the children of Yashar'AL shall be forgiven, and the stranger who abides as a foreigner among them, for in respect of all the people it was done unintentionally.
27 “And if one person transgresses unintentionally, then he shall offer a female goat a year old for a transgression offering.
28 And the ka'ahn (priest) shall make atonement for the being who errs, when he transgresses unintentionally, before 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 (YAHUAH), to make atonement for him, and he shall be forgiven.
29 You shall have one Thurah for him who does anything unintentionally, for him who is native born among the children of Yashar'AL, and for the stranger who abides as a foreigner among them.
30 "'But the being who does anything with a high hand, whether he is native born or a foreigner, the same blasphemes 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 (YAHUAH), and that being shall be cut off from among his people.
31 Because he has despised the Word of 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 (YAHUAH), and has broken His commandment, that being shall utterly be cut off, his iniquity shall be on him.'"
32 And while the children of Yashar'AL were in the wilderness, they found a man gathering sticks on the Shabath day.
33 And those who found him gathering sticks brought him to Mashah and A'haran, and to all the congregation.
34 And they put him in custody, because it had not been declared what should be done to him.
35 And 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 (YAHUAH) said to Mashah, "The man shall surely be put to death: all the congregation shall stone him with stones outside of the camp."
36 And all the congregation brought him outside of the camp, and stoned him to death with stones, as 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 (YAHUAH) commanded Mashah.
37 And 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 (YAHUAH) spoke to Mashah saying,
38 "Speak to the children of Yashar'AL, and tell them that they should make themselves tsaya’tsath in the borders of their garments throughout their generations, and that they put on the tsaya’tsath of each border a cord of violet,
39 and it shall be to you for a tsaya’tsath, that you may look on it, and remember all the commandments of 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 (YAHUAH), and do them, and that you not follow after your own heart and your own eyes, after which you use to commit whoredom,
40 that you remember and do all My commandments, and be Made Apart to Your ALUAH.
41 I AM 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 (YAHUAH) Your ALUAH, who brought you out of the land of Ma'tsara'ym, to be Your ALUAH: I AM 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 (YAHUAH) Your ALUAH."
CHAPTER 16
1 Now Qarakh, son of Ya'tsa'ahr, son of Qa'ah'th, son of Lu'ya, with Dathan and Ab'yaram, sons of AL'ya'ab, and A’un (Au’oon), son of Palath, sons of Rauban, took:
2 and they rose up to the face of Mashah, with certain of the children of Yashar'AL, two hundred and fifty princes of the congregation, called to the assembly, men of renown,
3 and they assembled themselves together against Mashah and against A'haran, and said to them, “Enough of you! Since all the congregation are Made Apart, everyone of them, and 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 (YAHUAH) is among them: Why then lift yourselves up above the assembly of 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 (YAHUAH)?"
4 When Mashah heard it, he fell on his face:
5 and he spoke to Qarakh and to all his congregation saying, "In the rising 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 (YAHUAH) will show who are his, and who is Made Apart, and will cause him to come near to Him: even Him whom He shall choose He will cause to come near to Him.
6 Do this: take censers, Qarakh, and all his congregation,
7 and put fire in them, and put incense on them before 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 (YAHUAH) tomorrow: And it shall be that the man whom 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 (YAHUAH) chooses, he shall be Made Apart. Enough of you, sons of Lu'ya!"
8 And Mashah said to Qarakh, "Hear now, you sons of Lu'ya!
9 Is it little to you, that The ALUAH OF Yashar'AL has separated you from the congregation of Yashar'AL, to bring you near to Himself, to do the service of the tabernacle of 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 (YAHUAH), and to stand before the congregation to serve to them,
10 And that He has brought you near, and all your brothers sons of Lu'ya with you? And do you seek the ka'ahn’ah (priesthood) also?
11 Therefore you and all your congregation are gathered together against 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 (YAHUAH): And A'haran, what is he that you murmur against him?"
12 And Mashah sent to call Dathan and Ab'yaram, sons of AL'ya'ab, and they said, "We will not come up:
13 Is it little that you have brought us up out of a land flowing with milk and honey, to kill us in the wilderness, but you must also make yourself a prince over us?
14 Also, you have not brought us into a land flowing with milk and honey, nor given us inheritance of fields and vineyards: Will you put out the eyes of these men? We will not come up."
15 And Mashah was very angry and said to 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 (YAHUAH), "Do not respect their offering: I have not taken one donkey from them, neither have I hurt one of them."
16 And Mashah said to Qarakh, "You and all your congregation go to the face of 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 (YAHUAH): you and they and A'haran tomorrow:
17 and each man take his censer, and put incense on them, and each man bring to the face of 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 (YAHUAH) his censer, two hundred and fifty censers, you also, and A'haran, each his censer."
18 And they each took his censer, and put fire in them, and laid incense thereon, and stood at the door of the Tent of Meeting with Mashah and A'haran.
19 And Qarakh assembled all the congregation against them to the door of the Tent of Meeting: And the esteem of 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 (YAHUAH) appeared to all the congregation.
20 And 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 (YAHUAH) spoke to Mashah and to A'haran saying,
21 "Separate yourselves from among this congregation, that I may consume them in a moment!"
22 And they fell on their faces and said, “O AL, The ALUAH OF The Rukh’uth of all flesh, shall one man transgress, and will You be angry with all the congregation?"
23 And 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 (YAHUAH) spoke to Mashah saying,
24 "Speak to the congregation saying, 'Get away from around the tent of Qarakh, Dathan, and Ab'yaram!'"
25 And Mashah rose up and went to Dathan and Ab'yaram, and the elders of Yashar'AL followed him.
26 And he spoke to the congregation, saying, "Depart please, from the tents of these wicked men, and touch nothing of theirs, lest you be consumed in all their transgressions!"
27 So they went away from the tent of Qarakh, Dathan, and Ab'yaram, on every side: And Dathan and Ab'yaram came out, and stood at the door of their tents, and their wives, and their sons, and their little ones.
28 And Mashah said, "Hereby you shall know that 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 (YAHUAH) has sent me to do all these works, for not from my own heart.
29 If these men die the common death of all men, or if they be visited after the visitation of all men, then 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 (YAHUAH) has not sent me.
30 But if 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 (YAHUAH) creates a new, and the ground open its mouth, and swallow them up, with all that appertain to them, and they go down alive into Sha'ul, then you shall understand that these men have despised 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 (YAHUAH)."
31 And it came to be, as he made an end of speaking all these words, that the ground split apart that was under them,
32 and the earth opened its mouth, and swallowed them up, and their households, and all the men who appertained to Qarakh, and all their goods.
33 So they, and all that appertained to them, went down living into Sha'ul: And the earth closed on them, and they perished from among the assembly.
34 And all Yashar'AL that were around them fled at the cry of them, for they said, "Lest the earth swallow us up!"
35 And fire came forth from 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 (YAHUAH), and devoured the two hundred and fifty men who offered the incense.
36 And 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 (YAHUAH) spoke to Mashah saying,
37 "Speak to AL'azar son of A'haran the ka'ahn (priest), that he take up the censers out of the burning, and scatter the fire yonder, for they are Made Apart,
38 even the censers of these transgressors against their own beings, and let them be made beaten plates for a covering of the altar: For they offered them to the face of 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 (YAHUAH), therefore they are Made Apart, and they shall be a Sign to the children of Yashar'AL."
39 And AL'azar the ka'ahn (priest) took the bronze censers, which those who were burnt had offered, and they beat them out for a covering of the altar,
40 to be a memorial to the children of Yashar'AL, to the end that no stranger, who is not of the seed of A'haran, comes near to burn incense before 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 (YAHUAH), that he not be as Qarakh, and as his congregation: As 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 (YAHUAH) spoke to him by Mashah.
41 But on the next day all the congregation of the children of Yashar'AL murmured against Mashah and against A'haran saying, "You have killed 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 (YAHUAH)'s people!"
42 And it came to be, when the congregation was assembled against Mashah and against A'haran, that they looked toward the Tent of Meeting: And behold, the cloud covered it, and the esteem of 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 (YAHUAH) appeared.
43 And Mashah and A'haran came to the face of the Tent of Meeting.
44 And 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 (YAHUAH) spoke to Mashah saying,
45 "Get away from among this congregation, that I may consume them in a moment!" And they fell on their faces.
46 And Mashah said to A'haran, "Take your censer, and put fire from off the altar in it, and lay incense on it, and carry it quickly to the congregation, and make atonement for them, for wrath has gone out from 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 (YAHUAH)! The plague has begun."
47 And A'haran did as Mashah said, and ran into the midst of the assembly, and behold, the plague has begun among the people: And he put on the incense, and made atonement for the people.
48 And he stood between the dead and the living, and the plague was stayed.
49 Now those who died by the plague were fourteen thousand and seven hundred, besides those who died about the matter of Qarakh.
50 And A'haran returned to Mashah to the door of the Tent of Meeting: And the plague was stopped.
CHAPTER 17
1 And 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 (YAHUAH) spoke to Mashah saying,
2 "Speak to the children of Yashar'AL, and take from them a staff, a rod, one for each fathers' house, of all their princes according to their fathers' houses, twelve rods: write every man's name on his rod.
3 And you shall write A'haran's name on the rod of Lu'ya, for there shall be one rod for each head of their fathers' houses.
4 And you shall lay them up in the Tent of Meeting before the witness, where I meet with you.
5 And it shall be that the rod of the man whom I shall choose shall bud: And I will make to cease from me the murmurings of the children of Yashar'AL, which they murmur against you."
6 And Mashah spoke to the children of Yashar'AL, and all their princes gave him rods, for each prince one, according to their fathers' houses, even twelve rods: And the rod of A'haran was among their rods.
7 And Mashah laid up the rods before 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 (YAHUAH) in the Tent of the Witness.
8 And it came to be on the next day, that Mashah went into the Tent of the Witness, and behold, the rod of A'haran for the house of Lu'ya was budded, and put forth buds, and produced blossoms, and bore ripe almonds.
9 And Mashah brought out all the rods from before the face of 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 (YAHUAH) to all the children of Yashar'AL: And they looked, and took every man his rod.
10 And 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 (YAHUAH) said to Mashah, "Put back the rod of A'haran before the Witness, to be kept for a Sign against the children of rebellion, that you make an end of their murmurings against Me, that they not die."
11 And Mashah did so. As 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 (YAHUAH) commanded him, so he did.
12 And the children of Yashar'AL spoke to Mashah saying, "Behold, we die! We perish! We all perish!
13 Everyone who comes near, who comes near to the Tabernacle of 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 (YAHUAH) dies! Will we all perish?"
CHAPTER 18
1 And 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 (YAHUAH) said to A'haran, "You and your sons and your fathers' house with you shall bear the iniquity of the Made Apart Place, and you and your sons with you shall bear the iniquity of your ka'ahn’ah (priesthood).
2 And your brothers also, the tribe of Lu'ya, the tribe of your father, bring near with you, that they may be joined to you, and serve to you: but you and your sons with you shall be to the face of the Tent of the Witness.
3 And they shall guard your commands, and the duty of all the Tent: only they shall not come near to the vessels of the Made Apart Place and to the altar, that they not die, neither they, nor you.
4 And they shall be joined to you, and keep the responsibility of the Tent of Meeting, for all the service of the Tent: And a stranger shall not come near to you.
5 “And you shall guard the duty of the Made Apart Place, and the duty of the altar, that there be wrath no more on the children of Yashar'AL.
6 And I, behold, I have taken your brothers the Lu'ym from among the children of Yashar'AL: to you they are a gift, given to 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 (YAHUAH), to do the service of the Tent of Meeting.
7 But you and your sons with you shall keep your ka'ahn (priesthood) for everything of the altar, and for that within the veil, and you shall serve: I give you the ka'ahn (priesthood) as a service of gift: and the stranger who comes near shall be put to death."
8 And 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 (YAHUAH) spoke to A'haran, “And I, behold, I have given you the command of my wave offerings, even all the Made Apart things of the children of Yashar'AL, to you have I given them by reason of the anointing, and to your sons, as a portion forever.
9 This shall be yours of the most Made Apart gifts from the fire: every offering of theirs, even every meal offering of theirs, and every transgression offering of theirs, and every trespass offering of theirs that they shall render to Me, shall be most Made Apart for you and for your sons.
10 You shall eat of it like the most Made Aparts. Every male shall eat of it. It shall be Made Apart to you.
11 "This is yours also: the wave offering of their gift, even all the wave offerings of the children of Yashar'AL. I have given them to you, and to your sons and to your daughters with you, as a portion forever. Everyone who is clean in your house shall eat of it.
12 "All the best of the oil, and all the best of the vintage, and of the grain, the first fruits of them that they give to 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 (YAHUAH), to you have I given them.
13 The first fruits of all that is in their land that they bring to 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 (YAHUAH), shall be yours, everyone who is clean in your house shall eat of it.
14 “All devoted in Yashar'AL shall be yours.
15 All that opens the womb, of all flesh which they offer to 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 (YAHUAH), both of man and beast shall be yours: nevertheless you shall surely redeem the firstborn of man, and you shall redeem the firstborn of unclean beasts.
16 And you shall redeem those who are to be redeemed of them from a month old, according to your estimation, for five shaqal'ym of silver, after the shaqal of the Made Apart Place, that is twenty garah.
17 "But you shall not redeem the firstborn of a cow, or the firstborn of a sheep, or the firstborn of a goat. They are Made Apart. You shall sprinkle their blood on the altar, and shall burn their fat for an offering made by fire, for a pleasant aroma to 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 (YAHUAH).
18 And their flesh is yours, as the wave offering breast and as the right thigh, it shall be yours.
19 All the wave offerings of the Made Aparts that the children of Yashar'AL offer to 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 (YAHUAH), have I given you, and your sons and your daughters with you, as a portion forever: It is a Bar'yath (covenant) of salt forever to the face of 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 (YAHUAH) to you and to your seed with you."
20 And 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 (YAHUAH) said to A'haran, "You shall have no inheritance in their land, neither shall you have any portion among them. I AM your portion and your inheritance among the children of Yashar'AL.
21 “And to the children of Lu'ya, behold, I have given all the tithe in Yashar'AL for an inheritance, in return for their service which they serve, even the service of the Tent of Meeting.
22 And the children of Yashar'AL shall not come near the Tent of Meeting, lest they bear transgression and die.
23 But the Lu'ya shall do the service of the Tent of Meeting, and they shall bear their iniquity: It shall be a statute forever throughout your generations, and among the children of Yashar'AL they shall have no inheritance.
24 For the tithe of the children of Yashar'AL that they offer as a wave offering to 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 (YAHUAH), I have given to the Lu'ym for an inheritance, therefore I have said to them: 'Among the children of Yashar'AL they shall have no inheritance.'"
25 And 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 (YAHUAH) spoke to Mashah saying,
26 “And thus you shall speak to the Lu'ym, and tell them: 'When you take of the children of Yashar'AL the tithe that I have given you from them for your inheritance, then you shall offer up a wave offering of it for 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 (YAHUAH), a tenth of the tithe.
27 And your wave offering shall be reckoned to you, as though it were the grain of the threshing floor, and as the fullness of the winepress.
28 Thus you also shall offer a wave offering to 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 (YAHUAH) of all your tithes that you receive from the children of Yashar'AL, and of it you shall give 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 (YAHUAH)'s wave offering to A'haran the ka'ahn (priest).
29 From all your gifts you shall offer every wave offering of 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 (YAHUAH), of all its best, even the Made Apart part of it out of it.'
30 "Therefore you shall tell them, 'When you heave its best from it, then it shall be reckoned to the Lu'ym as the increase of the threshing floor, and as the increase of the winepress.
31 And you shall eat it in every place, you and your households: For it is your reward in return for your service in the Tent of Meeting.
32 And you shall bear no transgression by reason of it, when you have heaved from it its best: And you shall not profane the Made Apart gifts of the children of Yashar'AL, that you not die.'"
CHAPTER 19
1 And 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 (YAHUAH) spoke to Mashah and to A'haran saying,
2 "This is the statute of the Thurah that 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 (YAHUAH) commanded: Speak to the children of Yashar'AL, that they bring you a red heifer without spot, in which is no blemish, on which never came yoke.
3 And you shall give her to AL'azar the ka'ahn (priest), and he shall bring her forth outside of the camp, and one shall kill her before his face:
4 and AL'azar the ka'ahn (priest) shall take of her blood with his finger, and sprinkle her blood toward the front of the Tent of Meeting seven times.
5 And one shall burn the heifer in his sight, her skin, and her flesh, and her blood, with her dung, shall he burn:
6 and the ka'ahn (priest) shall take cedar wood, and hyssop, and scarlet, and cast it into the midst of the burning of the heifer.
7 Then the ka'ahn (priest) shall wash his clothes, and he shall bathe his flesh in water, and afterward he shall come into the camp, and the ka'ahn (priest) shall be unclean until the evening.
8 And he who burns her shall wash his clothes in water, and bathe his flesh in water, and shall be unclean until the evening.
9 "And a man who is clean shall gather up the ashes of the heifer, and lay them up outside of the camp in a clean place, and it shall be kept for the congregation of the children of Yashar'AL for a water for impurity: it is a transgression offering.
10 And he who gathers the ashes of the heifer shall wash his clothes, and be unclean until the evening: and it shall be to the children of Yashar'AL, and to the stranger who abides as a foreigner among them, for a statute forever.
11 "He who touches the dead body of any man shall be unclean seven days:
12 the same shall purify himself with water on the third day, and on the seventh day he shall be clean: but if he does not purify himself the third day, then the seventh day he shall not be clean.
13 Whoever touches a dead person, the body of a man who has died, and does not purify himself, defiles the tabernacle of 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 (YAHUAH), and that being shall be cut off from Yashar'AL: Because the water for impurity was not sprinkled on him, he shall be unclean, his uncleanness is yet on him.
14 "This is the Thurah when a man dies in a tent: everyone who comes into the tent, and everyone who is in the tent, shall be unclean seven days.
15 And every open vessel, which has no covering bound on it, is unclean.
16 "Whoever in the open field touches one who is slain with a sword, or a dead body, or a bone of a man, or a grave, shall be unclean seven days.
17 “And for the unclean they shall take of the ashes of the burning of the transgression offering, and running water shall be put thereto in a vessel:
18 and a clean person shall take hyssop, and dip it in the water, and sprinkle it on the tent, and on all the vessels, and on the persons who were there, and on him who touched the bone, or the slain, or the dead, or the grave:
19 and the clean person shall sprinkle on the unclean on the third day, and on the seventh day: and on the seventh day he shall purify him, and he shall wash his clothes, and bathe himself in water, and shall be clean at evening.
20 But the man who shall be unclean, and shall not purify himself, that being shall be cut off from the midst of the assembly, because he has defiled the Made Apart Place of 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 (YAHUAH): the water for impurity has not been sprinkled on him, he is unclean.
21 And it shall be a perpetual statute to them: and he who sprinkles the water for impurity shall wash his clothes, and he who touches the water for impurity shall be unclean until evening.
22 “And whatever the unclean person touches shall be unclean, and the being that touches it shall be unclean until evening."
CHAPTER 20
1 And the children of Yashar'AL, even the whole congregation, came into the wilderness of Tsan in the first month: and the people stayed in Qadash, and Mara'ym died there, and was buried there.
2 And there was no water for the congregation: And they assembled themselves together against Mashah and against A'haran.
3 And the people strove with Mashah and spoke saying, “If only we had died when our brothers died before 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 (YAHUAH)!
4 Why have you brought the assembly of 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 (YAHUAH) into this wilderness, that we should die there, we and our livestock?
5 And why have you made us to come up out of Ma'tsara'ym, to bring us in to this evil place? It is no place of seed, or of figs, or of vines, or of pomegranates, neither is there any water to drink."
6 And Mashah and A'haran went from the face of the assembly to the door of the Tent of Meeting, and fell on their faces: And the esteem of 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 (YAHUAH) appeared to them.
7 And 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 (YAHUAH) spoke to Mashah saying,
8 "Take the rod, and assemble the congregation, you, and A'haran your brother, and speak to the rock before their eyes, that it give forth its water, and you shall bring forth to them water out of the rock, so you shall give the congregation and their livestock drink."
9 And Mashah took the rod from the face of 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 (YAHUAH), as He commanded him.
10 And Mashah and A'haran gathered the assembly together before the rock, and he said to them, "Hear now, you rebels, shall we bring you water out of this rock for you?"
11 And Mashah lifted up his hand, and struck the rock with his rod twice: And water came forth abundantly, and the congregation drank, and their livestock.
12 And 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 (YAHUAH) said to Mashah and A'haran, "Because you did not trust in Me, to make Me apart in the eyes of the children of Yashar'AL, therefore you shall not bring this assembly into the land that I have given them."
13 These are the waters of Mara'yabah, because the children of Yashar'AL strove with 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 (YAHUAH), and He was made apart in them.
14 And Mashah sent messengers from Qadash to king of Adum saying: "Thus says your brother Yashar'AL: You know all the travail that has happened to us:
15 How our fathers went down into Ma'tsara'ym, and we abided in Ma'tsara'ym a long time, and the Ma'tsara'ym dealt ill with us, and our fathers:
16 and when we cried to 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 (YAHUAH), He heard our voice, and sent a Malak, and brought us forth out of Ma'tsara'ym: And behold, we are in Qadash, a city in the uttermost of your border.
17 "Please let us pass over through your land: we will not pass over through field or through vineyard, neither will we drink of the water of the wells: we will go along the king's highway, we will not turn aside to the right hand nor to the left, until we have passed your border."
18 And Adum said to him, "You shall not pass through me, lest I come out with the sword against you."
19 And the children of Yashar'AL said to him, "We will go up by the highway, and if we drink of your water, I and my livestock, then will I give its price: let me only, without anything, pass through on my feet."
20 And he said, "You shall not pass through." And Adum came out against him with many people, and with a strong hand.
21 Thus Adum refused to give Yashar'AL passage through his border, so Yashar'AL turned away from him.
22 And they traveled from Qadash: and the children of Yashar'AL, even the whole congregation, came to Mount Har.
23 And 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 (YAHUAH) spoke to Mashah and A'haran in Mount Har, by the border of the land of Adum saying,
24 "A'haran shall be gathered to his people, for he shall not enter into the land that I have given to the children of Yashar'AL, because you rebelled against my Word at the waters of Mara'yabah.
25 Take A'haran and AL'azar his son, and bring them up to Mount Har,
26 and strip A'haran of his garments, and put them on AL'azar his son: and A'haran shall be gathered and shall die there."
27 And Mashah did as 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 (YAHUAH) commanded: and they went up into Mount Har in the sight of all the congregation.
28 And Mashah stripped A'haran of his garments, and put them on AL'azar his son, and A'haran died there on the top of the mountain: And Mashah and AL'azar came down from the mountain.
29 And when all the congregation saw that A'haran was dead, they wept for A'haran thirty days, even all the house of Yashar'AL.
CHAPTER 21
1 And the Kanan'ya, king of Arad, who abided in the South, heard that Yashar'AL came by the way of Athara’ym, and he fought against Yashar'AL, and took some of them captive.
2 Then Yashar'AL vowed a vow to 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 (YAHUAH) and said, "If You will indeed give this people into my hand, then I will utterly destroy their cities."
3 And 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 (YAHUAH) listened to the voice of Yashar'AL, and gave up the Kanan'ya, and they utterly destroyed them and their cities: And the name of the place was called Kharamah.
4 And they traveled from Mount Har by the way to the sea of reeds, to compass the land of Adum: and the being of the people was much discouraged because of the way.
5 And the people spoke against ALUAH and against Mashah, "Why have you brought us up out of Ma'tsara'ym to die in the wilderness? For there is no bread, and there is no water, and our being loathes this light bread."
6 And 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 (YAHUAH) sent fiery serpents among the people, and they bit the people, and many people of Yashar'AL died.
7 And the people came to Mashah and said, "We have transgressed, because we have spoken against 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 (YAHUAH), and against you. Pray to 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 (YAHUAH), that He take away the serpents from us." And Mashah prayed for the people.
8 And 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 (YAHUAH) said to Mashah, "Make a fiery serpent, and put it on a standard: And it shall be that everyone who is bitten, when he sees it, shall abide."
9 And Mashah made a serpent of bronze and put it on the standard: And it came to be, that if a serpent had bitten any man, when he looked to the serpent of bronze, he abided.
10 And the children of Yashar'AL traveled, and encamped in Abath.
11 And they traveled from Abath, and encamped at Ayaya Ha’Abara’ym, in the wilderness that is before Mu'ab, toward the sunrise.
12 From there they traveled, and encamped in the valley of Zarad.
13 From there they traveled, and encamped on the other side of the Ar'nun, which is in the wilderness, that comes out of the border of the Amar'ya: For the Ar'nun is the border of Mu'ab, between Mu'ab and the Amar'ya.
14 Therefore it is said in the Book of the Wars of 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 (YAHUAH), “U’hab in Supah (Soopah), the valleys of the Ar'nun,
15 and the slope of the valleys that incline toward the dwelling of Ar, leans on the border of Mu'ab."
16 And from there they traveled to Ba’arah: That is the well of which 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 (YAHUAH) said to Mashah, "Gather the people together, and I will give them water."
17 Then sang Yashar'AL this song: "Spring up, O well, sing to it:
18 A well that the princes dug, which the nobles of the people dug, with the scepter, and with their poles." From the wilderness to Mathanah,
19 and from Mathanah to Nathal'ya'AL, and from Nathal'ya'AL to Bamuth (Ba'mooth),
20 and from Bamuth (Ba'mooth) to the valley that is in the field of Mu'ab, to the top of the Pasagah, which looks down on the desert.
21 And Yashar'AL sent messengers to Saya'khan king of the Amar'ya, saying,
22 "Let me pass through your land: We will not turn aside into field, or into vineyard, we will not drink of the water of the wells: We will go by the king's highway, until we have passed your border."
23 But Saya'khan would not allow Yashar'AL to pass through his border: But Saya'khan gathered all his people together, and went out against Yashar'AL into the wilderness, and came to Yah’tsah, and he fought against Yashar'AL.
24 And Yashar'AL struck him with the edge of the sword, and possessed his land from the Ar'nun to the Yabaq, even to the children of Amun, for the border of the children of Amun was strong.
25 And Yashar'AL took all these cities: And Yashar'AL lived in all the cities of the Amar'ya, in Khash'bun (Khash'boon), and in all its towns.
26 For Khash'bun (Khash'boon) was the city of Saya'khan king of the Amar'ya, who had fought against the former king of Mu'ab, and taken all his land out of his hand, even to the Ar'nun.
27 Therefore those who speak in proverbs say, "Come to Khash'bun (Khash'boon). Let the city of Saya'khan be built and established,
28 For a fire has gone out of Khash'bun (Khash'boon), a flame from the city of Saya'khan. It devoured Ar of Mu'ab, The sovereigns of the high places of the Ar'nun.
29 Woe to you, O Mu'ab! You are undone, O people of Kamush (Kamoosh)! He has given his sons as fugitives, and his daughters into captivity, to Saya'khan king of the Amar'ya.
30 And we shot at them. Khash'bun (Khash'boon) has perished even to Daya'bun (Daya'boon). We have laid waste even to Napakh, which reaches to Maya’daba.”
31 Thus Yashar'AL abided in the land of the Amar'ya.
32 And Mashah sent to spy out Ya'azar, and they took its towns, and drove out the Amar'ya who were there.
33 And they turned and went up by the way of Bashan: and A’uga king of Bashan went out against them, he and all his people to battle at Adara’ya.
34 And 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 (YAHUAH) said to Mashah, "Do not fear him: For I have given him into your hand, and all his people, and his land, and you shall do to him as you did to Saya'khan king of the Amar'ya, who abided in Khash'bun (Khash'boon)."
35 So they struck him, and his sons and all his people, until there was none left him remaining: and they possessed his land.
CHAPTER 22
1 And the children of Yashar'AL traveled, and encamped in the plains of Mu'ab beyond the Yardan at Yara'khu (Yara'khoo).
2 And Balaq son of Tsa'pur saw all that Yashar'AL had done to the Amar'ya.
3 And Mu'ab was very afraid of the people, because they were many: And Mu'ab was distressed because of the children of Yashar'AL.
4 And Mu'ab said to the elders of Mada'yan, "Now this multitude will lick up all that is around us, as the ox licks up the grass of the field." And Balaq son of Tsa'pur was king of Mu'ab at that time.
5 And he sent messengers to Bal'am son of Ba'ur, to Pathurah, which is by the River, to the land of the children of his people, to call him saying, "Behold, there is a people who came out from Ma'tsara'ym. Behold, they cover the surface of the earth, and they are staying opposite me.
6 And please come now, curse me this people, for they are too mighty for me: perhaps I shall prevail, that we may strike them, and that I may drive them out of the land, for I know that he whom you Barak is Barak, and he whom you curse is cursed."
7 And the elders of Mu'ab and the elders of Mada'yan departed with the rewards of divination in their hand, and they came to Bal'am, and spoke to him the words of Balaq.
8 And he said to them, "Lodge here this night, and I will bring you word again, as 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 (YAHUAH) shall speak to me." And the princes of Mu'ab stayed with Bal'am.
9 And ALUAH came to Bal'am and said, "Who are these men with you?"
10 And Bal'am said to ALUAH, "Balaq son of Tsa'pur, king of Mu'ab, has sent to me,
11 'Behold, the people that is come out of Ma'tsara'ym, it covers the surface of the earth: now, come curse me them, perhaps I shall be able to fight against them, and shall drive them out.'"
12 And ALUAH said to Bal'am, "You shall not go with them. You shall not curse the people, for they are Baruk.”
13 And Bal'am rose up in the rising and said to the princes of Balaq, "Go to your land, for 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 (YAHUAH) refuses to permit me to go with you."
14 And the princes of Mu'ab rose up, and they went to Balaq, and said, "Bal'am refuses to come with us."
15 And Balaq sent yet again princes, numerous, and more esteemed than they.
16 And they came to Bal'am and said to him, "Thus says Balaq son of Tsa'pur , 'Please let nothing hinder you from coming to me:
17 For I will promote you to very great esteem, and whatever you say to me I will do. Please come therefore, and curse this people for me.'"
18 And Bal'am answered the servants of Balaq, "If Balaq would give me his house full of silver and gold, I cannot go beyond the Word of 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 (YAHUAH) My ALUAH, to do less or more.
19 Now therefore, please wait also here this night, that I know what 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 (YAHUAH) will speak to me more."
20 And ALUAH came to Bal'am at night and said to him, "If the men have come to call you, rise up, go with them, but only the word which I speak to you, that you shall do."
21 And Bal'am rose up in the rising, and saddled his donkey, and went with the princes of Mu'ab.
22 And ALUAH'S anger was kindled because he went, and the Malak of 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 (YAHUAH) placed Himself in the way for an adversary against him. Now he was riding on his donkey, and his two servants were with him.
23 And the donkey saw the Malak of 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 (YAHUAH) standing in the way, with His sword drawn in His hand, and the donkey turned aside out of the way, and went into the field: and Bal'am struck the donkey, to turn her into the way.
24 Then the Malak of 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 (YAHUAH) stood in a narrow path between the vineyards, a wall being on this side, and a wall on that side.
25 And the donkey saw the Malak of 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 (YAHUAH), and she thrust herself to the wall, and crushed Bal'am's foot against the wall: And he struck her again.
26 And the Malak of 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 (YAHUAH) went further, and stood in a narrow place, where there was no way to turn either to the right hand or to the left.
27 And the donkey saw the Malak of 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 (YAHUAH), and she lay down under Bal'am: and Bal'am's anger was kindled, and he struck the donkey with his staff.
28 And 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 (YAHUAH) opened the mouth of the donkey, and she said to Bal'am, "What have I done to you, that you have struck me these three times?"
29 And Bal'am said to the donkey, "Because you have mocked me, if only there were a sword in my hand, for now I would have killed you."
30 And the donkey said to Bal'am, "Am I not your donkey, on which you have ridden yet to this day? Was I ever in the habit of doing so to you?" And he said, "No."
31 Then 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 (YAHUAH) opened the eyes of Bal'am, and he saw the Malak of 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 (YAHUAH) standing in the way, with His sword drawn in His hand, and he bowed his head, and fell on his face.
32 And the Malak of 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 (YAHUAH) said to him, "Why have you struck your donkey these three times? Behold, I have come forth as an adversary, because your way is perverse before Me:
33 And the donkey saw Me, and turned aside to My face these three times. Unless she had turned aside from Me, surely now I would have killed you, and saved her alive."
34 And Bal'am said to the Malak of 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 (YAHUAH), "I have transgressed, for I did not know that You stood in the way against me. Now therefore, if it displeases you, I will go back again."
35 And the Malak of 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 (YAHUAH) said to Bal'am, "Go with the men, but only the Word that I shall speak to you, that you shall speak." So Bal'am went with the princes of Balaq.
36 And when Balaq heard that Bal'am had come, he went out to meet him to the city of Mu'ab, which is on the border of the Ar'nun, which is in the utmost part of the border.
37 And Balaq said to Bal'am, "Did I not earnestly send to you to call you? Why did you not come to me? Am I not able indeed to promote you to esteem?"
38 And Bal'am said to Balaq, "Behold, I have come to you: have I now any power at all to speak anything? The Word that ALUAH puts in my mouth, that shall I speak."
39 And Bal'am went with Balaq, and they came to Qara’yath Khats’uth (Khats’ooth).
40 And Balaq slaughtered cattle and sheep, and sent to Bal'am, and to the princes who were with him.
41 And it came to be in the rising, that Balaq took Bal'am, and brought him up into the high places of Ba’al, and he saw from there the utmost part of the people.
CHAPTER 23
1 And Bal'am said to Balaq, "Build me here seven altars, and prepare me here seven bulls and seven rams."
2 And Balaq did as Bal'am had spoken, and Balaq and Bal'am offered on every altar a bull and a ram.
3 And Bal'am said to Balaq, "Stand by your burnt offering, and I will go: Perhaps 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 (YAHUAH) will come to meet me, and whatever He shows me I will tell you." And he went to a bare height.
4 And ALUAH met Bal'am, and He said to him, "I have prepared the seven altars, and I have offered up a bull and a ram on every altar."
5 And 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 (YAHUAH) put a Word in Bal'am's mouth and said, "Return to Balaq, and thus you shall speak."
6 And he returned to him, and behold, he was standing by his burnt offering, he, and all the princes of Mu'ab.
7 And he took up his parable, and said, "From Aram has Balaq brought me, king of Mu'ab from the mountains of the East. Come, curse Ya'aqab for me. Come, defy Yashar'AL.
8 How shall I curse whom AL has not cursed? How shall I defy whom 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 (YAHUAH) has not defied?
9 For from the top of the rocks I see him. From the hills I see him. Behold, it is a people that abides alone, and shall not be reckoned among the nations.
10 Who can count the dust of Ya'aqab, or number the fourth part of Yashar'AL? Let me die the death of the righteous! Let my last end be like his!"
11 And Balaq said to Bal'am, "What have you done to me? I took you to curse my enemies, and behold, you have Barak them altogether."
12 And he answered and said, "Must I not take heed to speak that what 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 (YAHUAH) puts in my mouth?"
13 And Balaq said to him, "Please come with me to another place, where you may see them, you shall see but the utmost part of them, and shall not see them all: and curse me them from there."
14 And he took him into the field of Tsapa’ym, to the top of Pasagah, and built seven altars, and offered up a bull and a ram on every altar.
15 And he said to Balaq, "Stand here by your burnt offering, while I meet here.”
16 And 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 (YAHUAH) met Bal'am, and put a word in his mouth and said, "Return to Balaq, and say this."
17 And he came to him, and behold, he was standing by his burnt offering, and the princes of Mu'ab with him. And Balaq said to him, "What has 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 (YAHUAH) spoken?"
18 And he took up his parable and said, "Rise up, Balaq, and hear! Listen to me, O son of Tsa'pur .
19 AL is not a man that He should lie, nor son of man that He should repent. Has He said, and will He not do it? Or has He spoken, and will He not make it good?
20 Behold, I have received a command to Barak. And He has Barak, and I cannot reverse it.
21 He has not seen iniquity in Ya'aqab. Neither has he seen perverseness in Yashar'AL. 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 (YAHUAH) His ALUAH is with him. The shout of a king is among them.
22 AL brings them out of Ma'tsara'ym. He has as it were the strength of the rhinoceros.*
*See Note On Preface
23 Surely there is no enchantment with Ya'aqab, neither is there any divination with Yashar'AL. Now it shall be said of Ya'aqab and of Yashar'AL, what has AL done!
24 Behold, the people rises up as a lioness, as a lion he lifts himself up. He shall not lie down until he eat of the prey, and drinks the blood of the slain."
25 And Balaq said to Bal'am, "Neither curse them at all, nor Barak them at all."
26 But Bal'am answered Balaq, "Did I not tell you saying, 'All that 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 (YAHUAH) speaks, that I must do?'"
27 And Balaq said to Bal'am, "Come now, I will take you to another place, perhaps it will please ALUAH that you may curse me them from there."
28 And Balaq took Bal'am to the top of the Pa'ur that looks down on the desert.
29 And Bal'am said to Balaq, "Build me here seven altars, and prepare me here seven bulls and seven rams."
30 And Balaq did as Bal'am had said, and offered up a bull and a ram on every altar.
CHAPTER 24
1 And when Bal'am saw that it pleased 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 (YAHUAH) to Barak Yashar'AL, he did not go, as at the other times, to meet with enchantments, but he put his face toward the wilderness.
2 And Bal'am lifted up his eyes, and he saw Yashar'AL dwelling according to their tribes, and The RUKH OF ALUAH came on him.
3 And he took up his parable and said, "Bal'am son of Ba'ur says, the man whose eye was closed says,
4 he says, who hears the words of AL, who sees the vision of the Almighty, falling down, and having his eyes open:
5 How goodly are your tents, O Ya'aqab, and your tents, O Yashar'AL!
6 As valleys they are spread forth, as gardens by the riverside, as aloes that 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 (YAHUAH) has planted, as cedar trees beside the waters.
7 He pours water from his buckets. His seed shall be in many waters. His king shall be higher than Agag. His reign shall be exalted.
8 AL brings him out of Ma'tsara'ym. He has as it were the strength of the rhinoceros.* He shall eat up the nations his adversaries, shall break their bones in pieces, and pierce them with his arrows.
*See Note On Preface
9 He bowed down, he lay down as a lion, as a lioness, who shall rouse him up? Everyone who Barak you is Baruk. Everyone who curses you is cursed."
10 And Balaq's anger was kindled against Bal'am, and he struck his hands together, and Balaq said to Bal'am, "I called you to curse my enemies, and behold, you have altogether Barak them these three times.
11 Therefore now flee you to your place! I thought to promote you to great esteem, but behold, 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 (YAHUAH) has kept you back from esteem."
12 And Bal'am said to Balaq, "Did I not also tell your messengers who you sent to me saying,
13 'If Balaq would give me his house full of silver and gold, I cannot go beyond the Word of 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 (YAHUAH), to do either good or bad of my own mind. I will say what 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 (YAHUAH) says'?
14 Now behold, I go to my people: Come, I will inform you what this people shall do to your people in the latter days."
15 And he took up his parable and said, "Bal'am son of Ba'ur says, the man whose eye was closed says,
16 he says, who hears the sayings of AL, and knows the knowledge of the Most High, and who sees the vision of the Almighty, falling down, and having his eyes open:
17 I see Him, but not now. I see Him, but not near. A star will come out of Ya'aqab. A scepter will rise out of Yashar'AL, and shall strike through the corners of Mu'ab, and break down all sons of Shath.
18 And Adum shall be a possession. And Sha’yar, his enemies, also shall be a possession, while Yashar'AL does valiantly.
19 And out of Ya'aqab shall one have rule, and shall destroy the remnant from the city."
20 And he looked at Amalaq, and took up his parable and said, "Amalaq was the first of the nations, but his latter end shall come to destruction."
21 And he looked at the Qayan’ya, and took up his parable and said, "Your dwelling place is strong. Your nest is set in the rock.
22 Nevertheless Qayan shall be wasted, until Ashur carries you away captive."
23 And he took up his parable and said, "Alas, who shall abide when AL does this?
24 But ships from the coast of Kath'ym. And they shall afflict Ashur, and shall afflict Abar. He also shall come to destruction."
25 And Bal'am rose up, and went and returned to his place, and Balaq also went his way.
CHAPTER 25
1 And Yashar'AL stayed in Shata'ym, and the people began to whore with the daughters of Mu'ab:
2 For they called the people to the slaughterings of their idols, and the people ate, and bowed down to their idols.
3 And Yashar'AL joined himself to Ba'al Pa'ur: And the anger of 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 (YAHUAH) was kindled against Yashar'AL.
4 And 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 (YAHUAH) said to Mashah, "Take all the chiefs of the people, and hang them up to 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 (YAHUAH) before the sun, that the fierce anger of 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 (YAHUAH) turns away from Yashar'AL."
5 And Mashah said to the judges of Yashar'AL, "Everyone kill his men who have joined themselves to Ba'al Pa'ur."
6 Behold, one of the children of Yashar'AL came and brought to his brothers a Mada'yan'yath in the sight of Mashah, and in the sight of all the congregation of the children of Yashar'AL, while they were weeping at the door of the Tent of Meeting.
7 And when Payana'khas, son of AL'azar, son of A'haran the ka'ahn (priest), saw it, he rose up from the midst of the congregation, and took a spear in his hand,
8 And he went after the man of Yashar'AL into the pavilion, and thrust both of them through, the man of Yashar'AL, and the woman through her body. So the plague was stayed from the children of Yashar'AL.
9 And those who died by the plague were twenty and four thousand.
10 And 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 (YAHUAH) spoke to Mashah, saying,
11 "Payana'khas, son of AL'azar, son of A'haran the ka'ahn (priest), has turned My wrath away from the children of Yashar'AL, in that he was jealous with My jealousy among them, so that I did not consume the children of Yashar'AL in My jealousy.
12 Therefore say, 'Behold, I give to him My Bar'yath (covenant) of shalum (peace):
13 And it shall be to him, and to his seed after him, the Bar'yath (covenant) of an everlasting ka'ahn’tha (priesthood), because he was jealous for His ALUAH, and made atonement for the children of Yashar'AL.'"
14 Now the name of the man of Yashar'AL that was slain, who was slain with the Mada'yan'yath was Zamara’ya, son of Salu’a, a prince of a fathers' house among the Shama’na’ya.
15 And the name of the Mada'yan'yath who was slain was Kazab’ya daughter of Tsur, he was head of the people of a fathers' house in Mada'yan.
16 And 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 (YAHUAH) spoke to Mashah saying,
17 Afflict the Mada'yan’ym and strike them,
18 For they harassed you with their wiles, with which they have deceived you in the matter of Pa'ur, and in the matter of Kazab’ya, daughter of the prince of Mada'yan, their sister, who was slain on the day of the plague in the matter of Pa'ur."

4 Why should the name of our father be taken away from among his family, because he had no son? Give to us a possession among the brothers of our father."
5 And Mashah brought their cause before 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 (YAHUAH).
6 And 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 (YAHUAH) spoke to Mashah saying,
7 "The daughters of Tsala’pa’khad speak right: You shall surely give them a possession of an inheritance among their father's brothers, and you shall cause the inheritance of their father to pass to them.
8 And you shall speak to the children of Yashar'AL saying, 'If a man dies and has no son, then you shall cause his inheritance to pass to his daughter.
9 And if he has no daughter, then you shall give his inheritance to his brothers.
10 And if he has no brothers, then you shall give his inheritance to his father's brothers.
11 And if his father has no brothers, then you shall give his inheritance to his kinsman who is next to him of his family, and he shall possess it: and it shall be to the children of Yashar'AL a statute, an ordinance, as 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 (YAHUAH) commanded Mashah.'"
12 And 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 (YAHUAH) said to Mashah, "Go up into this mountain of Abara'ym, and see the land that I have given to the children of Yashar'AL.
13 When you have seen it, you also shall be gathered to your people, as A'haran your brother was gathered,
14 Because you rebelled against My word in the wilderness of Tsan, in the strife of the congregation, to make Me apart at the waters before their eyes." These are the waters of Mara'yabath of Qadash in the wilderness of Tsan.
15 And Mashah spoke to 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 (YAHUAH) saying,
16 "Let 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 (YAHUAH), The ALUAH of the rukh’uth (rukh’ooth) of all flesh, appoint a man over the congregation,
17 Who will go out before them, and who will come in before them, and who will lead them out, and who will bring them in, that the congregation of 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 (YAHUAH) not be as sheep which have no shepherd."
18 And 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 (YAHUAH) said to Mashah, "Take Yahusha son of Nun, a man in whom is The RUKH, and lay your hand on him,
19 And place him before AL'azar the ka'ahn (priest), and before all the congregation, and commission him in their sight.
20 And you shall put of your esteem on him, that all the congregation of the children of Yashar'AL obey.
21 And he shall stand before AL'azar the ka'ahn (priest), who shall inquire for him by the judgment of the Aura’ym before 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 (YAHUAH): At his word shall they go out, and at his word they shall come in, both he, and all the children of Yashar'AL with him, even all the congregation."
22 And Mashah did as 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 (YAHUAH) commanded him, and he took Yahusha, and placed him before AL'azar the ka'ahn (priest), and before all the congregation:
23 And he laid his hands on him, and commissioned him, as 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 (YAHUAH) spoke by Mashah.
CHAPTER 28
1 And 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 (YAHUAH) spoke to Mashah saying,
2 "Command the children of Yashar'AL and tell them, 'My offering, My food for My offerings made by fire, of a pleasant aroma to Me, you shall observe to offer to Me in their due season.'
3 And you shall say to them, 'This is the offering made by fire that you shall offer to 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 (YAHUAH): Male lambs a year old without blemish, two day by day, for a continual burnt offering.

9 “And on the Shabath day two male lambs a year old without blemish, and two tenth parts of fine flour for a meal offering, mixed with oil, and the drink offering of it:

18 In the first day shall be a made apart convocation: You shall do no servile work,

CHAPTER 30
1 And Mashah spoke to the heads of the tribes of the children of Yashar'AL saying, "This is the Word that 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 (YAHUAH) has commanded.
2 When a man vows a vow to 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 (YAHUAH), or swears an oath to bind his being with a bond, he shall not break his word, he shall do according to all that proceeds out of his mouth.
3 "Also when a woman vows a vow to 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 (YAHUAH), and binds herself by a bond, being in her father's house, in her youth,
4 and her father hears her vow, and her bond with what she has bound her being, and her father keeps silent at her, then all her vows shall stand, and every bond with which she has bound her being shall stand.
5 But if her father disallows her in the day that he hears, none of her vows, or of her bonds that she has bound her being shall stand: And 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 (YAHUAH) will forgive her, because her father disallowed her.
6 “And if she belongs to a husband, while her vows are on her, or the rash utterance of her lips that she has bound her being,
7 and her husband hears it and keeps silent at her in the day that he hears it, then her vows shall stand, and her bonds with which she has bound her being shall stand.
8 But if her husband disallows her in the day that he hears it, then he shall make void her vow that is on her, and the rash utterance of her lips, with what she has bound her being: And 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 (YAHUAH) will forgive her.
9 "But the vow of a widow, or of her who is divorced, all that she has bound her being, shall stand against her.
10 “And if she vowed in her husband's house, or bound her being by a bond with an oath,
11 and her husband heard it and kept silent at her, and did not disallow her, then all her vows shall stand, and every bond with which she bound her being shall stand.
12 But if her husband made them null and void in the day that he heard them, then whatever proceeded out of her lips concerning her vows, or concerning the bond of her being, shall not stand: Her husband has made them void, and 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 (YAHUAH) will forgive her.
13 Every vow, and every binding oath to afflict the being, her husband may establish it, or her husband make it void.
14 But if her husband altogether kept silent at her from day to day, then he establishes all her vows, or all her bonds that are on her: He has established them, because he kept silent at her in the day that he heard them.
15 But if he shall make them null and void after that he has heard them, then he shall bear her iniquity."
16 These are the statutes that 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 (YAHUAH) commanded Mashah, between a man and his wife, between a father and his daughter, being in her youth, in her father's house.
CHAPTER 31
1 And 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 (YAHUAH) spoke to Mashah saying,
2 "Avenge the children of Yashar'AL for the Mada'yan’ym. Afterward you shall be gathered to your people."
3 And Mashah spoke to the people saying, "Arm men from among you for the war, that they go against Mada'yan, to execute 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 (YAHUAH)'s vengeance on Mada'yan.
4 Of every tribe one thousand, throughout all the tribes of Yashar'AL, you shall send to the war."
5 So there were recruited from the thousands of Yashar'AL a thousand of every tribe, twelve thousand armed for war.
6 And Mashah sent them, one thousand of every tribe, to the war, them and Payana'khas son of AL'azar the ka'ahn (priest), to the war, with the vessels of the Made Apart Place and the trumpets for the alarm in his hand.
7 And they warred against Mada'yan, as 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 (YAHUAH) commanded Mashah, and they killed every male.
8 And they killed the kings of Mada'yan with the rest of their slain: A’u’ya, and Raqam, and Tsur, and Khur, and Raba, five kings of Mada'yan: And Bal'am son of Ba'ur they killed with the sword.
9 And the children of Yashar'AL took captive the women of Mada'yan and their little ones, and all their livestock, and all their flocks, and all their goods, they took for a prey.
10 And all their cities in the places in which they abided, and all their encampments, they burnt with fire.
11 And they took all the plunder, and all the prey, both of man and of beast.
12 And they brought the captives, and the prey, and the plunder, to Mashah, and to AL'azar the ka'ahn (priest), and to the congregation of the children of Yashar'AL, to the camp at the plains of Mu'ab that are by the Yardan at Yara'khu (Yara'khoo).
13 And Mashah, and AL'azar the ka'ahn (priest), and all the princes of the congregation, went forth to meet them outside of the camp.
14 And Mashah was angry with the officers of the army, the captains of thousands and the captains of hundreds, who came from the service of the war.
15 And Mashah said to them, "Have you saved all the women alive?
16 Behold, these caused the children of Yashar'AL, through the counsel of Bal'am, to commit trespass against 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 (YAHUAH) in the matter of Pa'ur, and so the plague was among the congregation of 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 (YAHUAH).
17 Now therefore kill every male among the little ones, and kill every woman who has known man by lying with him.
18 But all the young girls, who have not known man by lying with him, keep alive for yourselves.
19 “And you, encamp outside of the camp seven days: whoever has killed any person, and whoever has touched any slain, purify yourselves on the third day and on the seventh day, you and your captives.
20 And every garment, and all that is made of skin, and all work of goats’, and everything made of wood, you shall purify yourselves."
21 And AL'azar the ka'ahn (priest) said to the men of war who went to the battle, "This is the statute of the Thurah that 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 (YAHUAH) has commanded Mashah:
22 Only the gold, and the silver, the bronze, the iron, the tin, and the lead,
23 All that withstands the fire, you shall make to go through the fire, and it shall be clean, nevertheless it shall be purified with the water for impurity: And all that does not withstand the fire you shall make to go through the water.
24 And you shall wash your clothes on the seventh day, and you shall be clean, and afterward you shall come into the camp."
25 And 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 (YAHUAH) spoke to Mashah saying,
26 "Take the sum of the prey that was taken, both of man and of beast: you and AL'azar the ka'ahn (priest), and the heads of the fathers' of the congregation,
27 and divide the prey into two parts: between the men skilled in war, who went out to battle, and all the congregation.
28 And levy a tribute to 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 (YAHUAH) of the men of war who went out to battle: one being of five hundred, of man, and of the cattle, and of the donkeys, and of the flocks:
29 Take it of their half, and give it to AL'azar the ka'ahn (priest), for 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 (YAHUAH)'s wave offering.
30 And from the children of Yashar'AL's half, you shall take one drawn out of every fifty, of man, of the cattle, of the donkeys, and of the flocks, of all the livestock, and give them to the Lu'ym (Loo'ym), who perform the duty of the tabernacle of 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 (YAHUAH)."
31 And Mashah and AL'azar the ka'ahn (priest) did as 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 (YAHUAH) commanded Mashah.
32 Now the prey, over and above the plunder that the men of war took, was six hundred and seventy and five thousand sheep,
33 and seventy and two thousand head of cattle,
34 and sixty and one thousand donkeys,
35 and thirty and two thousand persons in all, of the women who had not known man by lying with him.
36 And the half that was the portion of those who went out to war, was in number three hundred and thirty and seven thousand, and five hundred sheep:
37 And 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 (YAHUAH)'s tribute of the sheep was six hundred and seventy and five.
38 And the cattle were thirty and six thousand, of that 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 (YAHUAH)'s tribute was seventy and two.
39 And the donkeys were thirty thousand and five hundred, of that 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 (YAHUAH)'s tribute was sixty and one.
40 And the persons were sixteen thousand, of whom 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 (YAHUAH)'s tribute was thirty and two persons.
41 And Mashah gave the tribute that was 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 (YAHUAH)'s wave offering, to AL'azar the ka'ahn (priest), as 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 (YAHUAH) commanded Mashah.
42 And from the children of Yashar'AL's half, which Mashah divided off from the men who warred:
43 Now the congregation's half was three hundred and thirty and seven thousand, and five hundred sheep,
44 and thirty and six thousand head of cattle,
45 and thirty thousand and five hundred donkeys,
46 and sixteen thousand persons,
47 And of the children of Yashar'AL's half, Mashah took one drawn out of every fifty, both of man and of beast, and gave them to the Lu'ym (Loo'ym), who performed the duty of the tabernacle of 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 (YAHUAH), as 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 (YAHUAH) commanded Mashah.
48 And the officers who were over the thousands of the army, the captains of thousands, and the captains of hundreds, came near to Mashah,
49 and they said to Mashah, "Your servants have taken the sum of the men of war who are under our command, and there lacks not one man of us.
50 And we brought 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 (YAHUAH)'s offering, what every man has gotten, of jewels of gold, armlets, and bracelets, signet rings, earrings, and necklaces, to make atonement for our beings before 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 (YAHUAH)."
51 And Mashah and AL'azar the ka'ahn (priest) took the gold of them, even all worked jewels.
52 And all the gold of the wave offering that they offered up to 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 (YAHUAH), of the captains of thousands, and of the captains of hundreds, was sixteen thousand seven hundred and fifty shaqal.
53 Men of war had taken plunder, every man for himself.
54 And Mashah and AL'azar the ka'ahn (priest) took the gold of the captains of thousands and of hundreds, and brought it into the Tent of Meeting, for a remembrance for the children of Yashar'AL before 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 (YAHUAH).
CHAPTER 32
1 Now the children of Rauban and the children of Gad had a very great multitude of livestock: and when they saw the land of Ya'azar, and the land of Gal'ad, that behold, the place was a place for livestock,
2 So the children of Gad and the children of Rauban came and spoke to Mashah, and to AL'azar the ka'ahn (priest), and to the princes of the congregation saying,
3 "Atar’uth (Atar’ooth), and Daya'bun (Daya'boon), and Ya'azar, and Namrah, and Khash'bun (Khash'boon), and AL'alah, and Shabam, and Nabu, and Ba’an,
4 the land that 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 (YAHUAH) struck before the congregation of Yashar'AL, is a land for livestock, and your servants have livestock."
5 And they said, "If we have found favor in your sight, let this land be given to your servants for a possession, do not bring us over the Yardan."
6 And Mashah said to the children of Gad, and to the children of Rauban, "Shall your brothers go to the war, and shall you sit here?
7 And why do you discourage the heart of the children of Yashar'AL from going over into the land that 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 (YAHUAH) has given them?
8 Thus your fathers did so when I sent them from Qadash Barana to see the land.
9 For when they went up to the valley of Ashakul (Asha’kool), and saw the land, they discouraged the heart of the children of Yashar'AL, that they should not go into the land that 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 (YAHUAH) had given them.
10 And the anger of 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 (YAHUAH) was kindled in that day, and He swore saying,
11 'Surely none of the men who came up out of Ma'tsara'ym, from twenty years old and upward, shall see the land that I swore to Abara'ahm, to Ya’tsakhaq, and to Ya'aqab, because they have not fully followed Me:
12 Except Kalab son of Yapanah the Qanaz’ya, and Yahusha son of Nun, because they have followed 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 (YAHUAH) fully.'
13 And the anger of 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 (YAHUAH) was kindled against Yashar'AL, and He made them wander back and forth in the wilderness forty years, until all the generation, who had done evil in the sight of 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 (YAHUAH), was consumed.
14 “And behold, you have risen up in your fathers' place, an increase of sinful men, to increase yet the fierce anger of 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 (YAHUAH) toward Yashar'AL.
15 For if you turn away from after Him, He will yet again leave them in the wilderness, and you will destroy all this people."
16 And they came near to him and said, "We will build sheepfolds here for our livestock, and cities for our little ones:
17 But we ourselves will be ready armed to go before the children of Yashar'AL, until we have brought them to their place: and our little ones shall abide in the fortified cities because of the inhabitants of the land.
18 We will not return to our houses, until the children of Yashar'AL have inherited every man his inheritance.
19 For we will not inherit with them on the other side of the Yardan, and forward, because our inheritance is fallen to us on this side of the Yardan eastward."
20 And Mashah said to them, "If you will do this word, if you will arm yourselves to go before 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 (YAHUAH) to the war,
21 and every armed man of you will pass over the Yardan to the face of 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 (YAHUAH), until He has driven out His enemies from His face,
22 and the land is subdued before 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 (YAHUAH), then afterward you shall return, and be guiltless towards 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 (YAHUAH), and towards Yashar'AL, and this land shall be to you for a possession before 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 (YAHUAH).
23 "But if you will not do so, behold, you have transgressed against 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 (YAHUAH), and be sure your transgression will find you out.
24 Build cities for your little ones, and folds for your sheep, and do that which has proceeded out of your mouth."
25 And the children of Gad and the children of Rauban spoke to Mashah saying, "Your servants will do as my sovereign commands.
26 Our little ones, our wives, our flocks, and all our livestock, shall be there in the cities of Gal'ad,
27 but your servants will pass over, every man who is armed for war, to the face of 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 (YAHUAH) to battle, as my sovereign says."
28 So Mashah commanded concerning them to AL'azar the ka'ahn (priest), and to Yahusha son of Nun, and to the heads of the fathers' of the tribes of the children of Yashar'AL.
29 And Mashah said to them: "If the children of Gad and the children of Rauban will pass with you over the Yardan, every man who is armed to battle to the face of 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 (YAHUAH), and the land shall be subdued before you, then you shall give them the land of Gal'ad for a possession:
30 But if they will not pass over with you armed, they shall have possessions among you in the land of Kanan."
31 And the children of Gad and the children of Rauban answered saying, "As 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 (YAHUAH) has said to your servants, so will we do.
32 We will pass over armed before 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 (YAHUAH) into the land of Kanan, and the possession of our inheritance with us beyond the Yardan."
33 And Mashah gave to them, even to the children of Gad, and to the children of Rauban, and to the half-tribe of Mana'shah son of Yahu'sap, the reign of Saya'khan king of the Amar'ya, and the reign of A’uga king of Bashan, the land, according to the cities of it with borders, even the cities of the surrounding land.
34 And the children of Gad built Daya'bun (Daya'boon), and Atar’uth, and Arar,
35 and Atar’ath Shu’pan (Shoo’pahn), and Ya'azar, and Yag’bah’ah,
36 and Bayath Namrah, and Bayath Haran: fortified cities, and folds for sheep.
37 And the children of Rauban built Khash'bun (Khash'boon), and AL'alah, and Qara’yath’ym,
38 and Nabu, and Ba'al Ma’un, their names changed, and Shabamah: And they gave other names to the cities that they built.
39 And the sons of Maka'yar son of Mana'shah went to Gal'ad and took it, and dispossessed the Amar'ya who were therein.
40 So Mashah gave Gal'ad to Maka'yar son of Mana'shah, and he abided therein.
41 And Ya'ayar son of Mana'shah went and took its towns, and called them Khuth (Khooth) Ya'ayar.
42 And Nabakh went and took Qanath, and its villages, and called it Nabakh, after his own name.

52 then you shall drive out all the inhabitants of the land from before you, and destroy all their carvings, and destroy all their molten images, and demolish all their high places:
53 and you shall take possession of the land, and abide therein, for I have given given the land to you to possess it.
54 And you shall inherit the land by lot according to your families, to the more you shall give the more inheritance, and to the fewer you shall give the less inheritance: wherever the lot falls to any man, that shall be his. You shall inherit according to the tribes of your fathers.
55 "But if you do not drive out the inhabitants of the land from before you, then those you let remain of them will be as pricks in your eyes and as thorns in your sides, and they will distress you in the land that you abide in.
56 And it shall be that as I thought to do to them, so will I do to you."
CHAPTER 34
1 And 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 (YAHUAH) spoke to Mashah saying,
2 "Command the children of Yashar'AL and tell them, 'When you come into the land of Kanan: this is the land that shall fall to you for an inheritance, even the land of Kanan according to its borders,

CHAPTER 35
1 And 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 (YAHUAH) spoke to Mashah in the plains of Mu'ab by the Yardan at Yara'khu (Yara'khoo) saying,
2 "Command the children of Yashar'AL that they give to the Lu'ym (Loo'ym) of the inheritance of their possession cities to dwell in, and you shall give towns for the cities around them to the Lu'ym (Loo'ym).
3 And the cities shall they have to dwell in, and their towns shall be for their livestock, and for their substance, and for all their beasts.
4 "And the towns of the cities, which you shall give to the Lu'ym (Loo'ym), shall be from the wall of the city and outward one thousand cubits around it.
5 And you shall measure outside of the city for the east side two thousand cubits, and for the south side two thousand cubits, and for the west side two thousand cubits, and for the north side two thousand cubits, the city being in the midst. This shall be to them the towns of the cities.
6 “And the cities which you shall give to the Lu'ym (Loo'ym), they shall be the six cities of refuge, which you shall give for the manslayer to flee to: and besides them you shall give forty and two cities.
7 All the cities which you shall give to the Lu'ym (Loo'ym) shall be forty and eight cities together with their towns.
8 And concerning the cities which you shall give of the possession of the children of Yashar'AL, from the many you shall take many, and from the few you shall take few: everyone according to his inheritance which he inherits shall give of his cities to the Lu'ym (Loo'ym)."
9 And 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 (YAHUAH) spoke to Mashah saying,
10 "Speak to the children of Yashar'AL and tell them, 'When you pass over the Yardan into the land of Kanan,
11 then you shall appoint you cities to be cities of refuge for you, that the manslayer who kills any person unwittingly may flee there.
12 And the cities shall be to you for refuge from the avenger, that the manslayer not die, until he stands before the congregation for judgment.
13 And the cities which you shall give shall be for you six cities of refuge.
14 You shall give three cities beyond the Yardan, and you shall give three cities in the land of Kanan, they shall be cities of refuge.
15 For the children of Yashar'AL, and for the stranger and for the foreigner living among them, shall these six cities be for refuge, that everyone who kills any person unwittingly may flee there.
16 "'But if he struck him with an instrument of iron, so that he died, he is a murderer: the murderer shall surely be put to death.
17 And if he struck him with a stone in the hand, by which a man may die, and he died, he is a murderer: the murderer shall surely be put to death.
18 Or if he struck him with a weapon of wood in the hand, by which a man may die, and he died, he is a murderer: the murderer shall surely be put to death.
19 An avenger of blood shall himself put the murderer to death: when he meets him, he shall put him to death.
20 And if he thrust him of hatred, or hurled at him, lying in wait, so that he died,
21 or in enmity struck him with his hand, so that he died, he who struck him shall surely be put to death, he is a murderer: the avenger of blood shall put the murderer to death, when he meets him.
22 "'But if he thrust him suddenly without enmity, or hurled on him anything without lying in wait,
23 or with any stone, by which a man may die, not seeing him, and cast it on him, so that he died, and he was not his enemy, neither sought his harm,
24 then the congregation shall judge between the striker and the avenger of blood according to these ordinances,
25 and the congregation shall rescue the manslayer out of the hand of the avenger of blood, and the congregation shall restore him to his city of refuge, where he was fled: And he shall dwell therein until the death of the high ka'ahn (priest), who was anointed with the made apart oil.
26 "'But if the manslayer shall at any time go beyond the border of his city of refuge where he flees,
27 and the avenger of blood find him outside of the border of his city of refuge, and the avenger of blood kill the manslayer, he shall not be guilty of blood,
28 because he should have remained in his city of refuge until the death of the high ka'ahn (priest): but after the death of the high ka'ahn (priest) the manslayer shall return into the land of his possession.
29 “And these shall be for a statute, an ordinance to you throughout your generations in all your dwellings.
30 "'Whoever kills any person, the murderer shall be slain at the mouth of witnesses: But one witness shall not witness against any person that he die.
31 “And you shall take no ransom for the being of a murderer who is guilty of death, but he shall surely be put to death.
32 “And you shall take no ransom for him who is fled to his city of refuge, that he come again to dwell in the land, until the death of the ka'ahn (priest).
33 "'So you shall not pollute the land in which you are: For blood, it pollutes the land, and no expiation can be made for the land for the blood that is shed therein, but by the blood of him who shed it.
34 And you shall not defile the land which you inhabit, in the midst of which I abide: For I, 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 (YAHUAH), abide in the midst of the children of Yashar'AL.'"
CHAPTER 36
1 And the heads of the fathers' of family of the children of Gal'ad, son of Maka'yar, son of Mana'shah, of the families of sons of Yahu'sap, came near, and spoke before Mashah, and before the princes, the heads of the fathers' of the children of Yashar'AL:
2 and they said, "𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 (YAHUAH) commanded my sovereign to give the land for inheritance by lot to the children of Yashar'AL: And my sovereign was commanded by 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 (YAHUAH) to give the inheritance of Tsala’pa’khad our brother to his daughters.
3 And if they are married to any of sons of the tribes of the children of Yashar'AL, then will their inheritance be taken away from the inheritance of our fathers, and will be added to the inheritance of the tribe whereunto they shall belong: so will it be taken away from the lot of our inheritance.
4 And when the Jubilee of the children of Yashar'AL shall be, then will their inheritance be added to the inheritance of the tribe whereunto they shall belong: so will their inheritance be taken away from the inheritance of the tribe of our fathers."
5 And Mashah commanded the children of Yashar'AL according to the word of 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 (YAHUAH) saying, "The tribe of the sons of Yahu'sap speaks right.
6 This is the Word that 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 (YAHUAH) does command concerning the daughters of Tsala’pa’khad, saying: Let them marry who is right in their eyes, only into the family of the tribe of their father shall they be married.
7 So shall no inheritance of the children of Yashar'AL remove from tribe to tribe, for the children of Yashar'AL shall all keep the inheritance of the tribe of his fathers.
8 And every daughter who possesses an inheritance in any tribe of the children of Yashar'AL shall be wife to one of family of the tribe of her father, that the children of Yashar'AL may possess every man the inheritance of his fathers.
9 So shall no inheritance remove from one tribe to another tribe, for the tribes of the children of Yashar'AL shall each keep his own inheritance."
10 And the daughters of Tsala’pa’khad did as 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 (YAHUAH) commanded Mashah:
11 For Makhalah, Na’ah, and Khagalah, and Malakah, and Thar’tsah, the daughters of Tsala’pa’khad, were married to the sons of their father's brothers.
12 And they were married into the families of sons of Mana'shah son of Yahu'sap, and their inheritance remained in the tribe of family of their father.
13 These are the commandments and the ordinances that 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 (YAHUAH) commanded by Mashah to the children of Yashar'AL in the plains of Mu'ab by the Yardan, Yara'khu (Yara'khoo).
